Ok, I think I have found the best solution to my rubber taste problem. After doing some research, it seems like aquarium silicone sealant will be the best choice. It is food grade non-toxic, water proof, flexible, cheap and widely available. I will stop by Walmart or Petsmart on my way home from work and pick some up to try tonight. I'm just going to coat the entire plunger and let it dry overnight before rebuilding the tank. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

OK, couple o' quick updates...

Finally found some 1ml B-D Tuberculin Syringes, Product Number: 309623, at K-Mart (of all places) @ $.25 each. The lil' plunger requires a 5/32" fill hole. I've been water testing a tank for 10 hours thus far with no leaks. I'll load it up later today and post results.

As to condensing this thread... DAY-UM! It's really gonna take a while with over 1k posts and then sorting into some resemblance of a how-to guide.

I'll plug away for a few more days and hopefully I'll get into a 'groove'...

Those are cheap !

Good luck with the 'how to' synopsis ...

I'd be glad to get a bunch of 'em for ya. I could easily send several dozen to the UK for $6-8 postage. Of course I would remove the needles.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm sure I can get some here too. The main problem is finding the time ... hopefully this weekend; but I have a feeling it won't be easy in the UK ...

I've vaped mine empty without leaks...I'm not sure what your problem could be.

That's what I needed to hear - thanks, Sharon.

It pretty much has to be an air leak, then - I think I've finally tracked down rubber earring backs I can use as a stopper (won't know for sure until Hobby Lobby opens) so I think I'm about to solve the problem then.

This thing's been syringe-filled about six times and I think there may be a pinhole leak in the top seal - I've got resurrectors due in today and planned to make a new tank with a proper fill plug this afternoon. I guess we'll see :)

thanks -

Wizard- if you can't find the earring backs I will send you some. I have at least a hundred (I think I got a pack of 144 to use on my earrings that I was making). Anyone else needs any, just PM me, and I'll send you 10-12.

Thank you - it looks like Hobby Lobby has them but if they don't I'll probably take you up on the offer. I have to go get a leather punch anyway, so I'll report back if anyone else is interested.

very interesting, and definatly worth a shot for about $3 worth of syringes. i am a bit confused as to why you would "have" to fill it with a syringe and puncture the rubber? couldnt you simply removed the top cap?
Hey Robot - I made a couple of these using the syringes from David's vid on YouTube - (RuralKing.com and if you call they will ship whatever # you need by usps, syringes and shipping are cheap) - (20cc Luer Slip #9273C) -I use a filling method that you might want to try that works with these and my other commercial tanks - first, take the soft tip that came on your carto and plug the center hole with a small, cut piece of a q-tip - next, with the tank attached to your device, remove the drip tip and replace with the plugged soft tip - CAREFULLY! work the tank up and away from your battery until the mouth end of the carto is inside the tank 1/8th or 1/4" - at this point, you can squeeze your juice directly onto the plugged soft tip until your tank is full - CAREFULLY! work the tank back down until the soft tip is back in position, remove the tip, replace your drip tip and your good - have used this method at least 15 times and the worst is a little juice residue on the soft tip - Once you are comfortable with this, you will love it.

I just tried to order from RuralKing and the shipping on 2 packs of syringes was $12.18 . Thats rediculous.

I ordered those for my first tank mod and the rubber plungers were not the same as the ones in the video in the first post. They have 3 ridges and the ones in the video have only 2 and I think the ones with 2 work better. If you have a Tractor Supply near you, they have both types of 20ml syringes at just under 4 bucks for 4 syringes.
Would the following work? Monoject Syringe Only The 20cc version is .99 each and free 7 day shipping. I'm hoping it would be equivalent.
