So, one of the e-cig users at work purchased a DCC tank kit from Hoosier eCig Supply. Kindly, he let me try the unit so I could try how it vaped. Oh Em Gee!!! I had not been a cartomizer guy since my primary method of vaping has been dripping. Instantly, I was converted to a cartomizer tank user. The amount of vapor it produced was enormous.

Needless to say, I placed an order for the unit. I do not know how it will work with the liquids from Bombay vaping I use, but it seems the product deserves to be tried. It was shipped out the day after my ordering date according to the email Brent sent me. That was quite quick.

I will post my review after its arrival.

One thing I liked about this tank unit from Hoosier eCig Supply was that you can lay it down flat for a day or two and the liquid does not leak acccording to my coworker. I had a horrible experience with a Liquinator so it was a good news to hear.

(I have been using a ProVari with 3 ohm 306 atomizers for several months after using a Screwdriver from Totally Wicked for about a year. )

From what I read these smoktech tanks/carto's will work with up to a 50%vg juice... I can now confirm that claim. I have been using a 50/50 juice with no problem for 3 weeks--it wicks as well as my 80pg/20vg juice. I thought I was going to have to enlarge the pre-punched hole, but that hasn't been the case. The carto just doesn't last as long with the higher vg juices, but this has always been the case.

I have also read claims by others on ECF that 100% vg juices are working in these carto's without enlarging the hole, but I don't have personal experience with this.ymmv

I don't know what the ratio of bombay juices are, but if they aren't above 50%vg you should have no problem.

cheers,

Mine came with a dead cart. I tried 2 other cartos both just had a Burnt taste. I filled the carto and the tank. They just do not take the liquid out of the tank. Mine also leaked. I have never had luck with tanks.

Acehess, what percentage of pg/vg juice were you using and what process did you use filling the carto for first time use. When you say it leaked, what leaked and how?

cheers,

One of the things I like about Bombay Vaping is that we are able to select a PG/VG ratio from 80/20, 70/30, 50/50, 30/70, and VG. I have been using 50/50 for my 306(3 ohms) and I hope it will work well with the tank.

(I Placed my order on 1/23/12 and the product was shipped on 1/24/12. It is 1/29/12 today and it still has not arrived here yet. I am a bit impatient. LOL.)

acehess, sounds like you got liquid in the center tube when you were filling the carto... this sometimes happens will filling, you should just blow thru the top of the carto out onto a paper towel and wipe the bottom connection to the battery.

I've used dekang dk-tab pg in my tank and it has worked flawlessly. Make sure when filling the carto turn it at a small angle and drip down the sides onto the filler. With the initial fill, you should probably put about 20 drops into the carto--not all at once... about 5 drops and wait a minute and repeat. And with this being dekang pg, you shouldn't have to wait long for the juice to saturate the filler--give it a half hour to be on the safe side.

Also, I don't remember what pv you said you were using. I'm using a provari vv and running these smoktech dc 1.5 ohm carto's at 3.8-9 volts, and with my Super-T Precise Plus it's a set voltage of 3.7.

Hope this helps,

p.s. here's some instructions on filling the tank:https://www.myvaporstore.com/v/vspfiles/assets/images/dualcoiltankinstructions.jpg

My SmokTek Tank from Hoosier eCig Supply has arrived today. I filled it with Bombay Vaping's Pacific Peach 50/50(PG/VG) liquid with a flavor strength, "Dynamite". After trying several voltages on my ProVari, I found 4.0 volts to be its sweet spot. With 50/50 mix, the small hole on the atty seems to be large enough to take in enough liquid to saturate the absorbant inside.

Compared to dripping I normally do, the flavor was not as intense, but that was expected. Still, I say it is strong enough. The vapor production however was amazing. I had never been a carto person, but the result changed my opinion.

This is only the first day of the use. I will report how it goes after the several days of use.

The hole is too small!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And unfortunately, I don't have any tool to make the hole bigger.

Sorry to hear it isn't working for you. I expected to have to enlarge the hole inorder to vape my 50/50 juice, but fortunately it's wicking as well as my 80pg/20vg juice.

cheers,

You really don't need a special tool to make the hole bigger. I just used an adjustable wrench like this wrench.jpg to hold it. Then I took a large sharp screw and hammered it in slightly to make it a little bigger. A large sharp nail should work too. If you don't have an adjustable wrench, maybe somebody can hold it steady for you using a pliers while you hammer.

You're right though. Like Busardo said...THE HOLE IS TOO SMALL!! :)

I use 100% VG and I had to enlarge the hole in the Smok Tech DCT. YMMV

Oh, and you may want to watch the review on youtube by Pete Busardo about these. Just don't pick up your PV by the tank. :)

I have been using this tank for over a month now and pick my pv up by my tank and have never had any problems. The prepunched cartos with the lip on one edge and a drip tip on the other prevents it from slipping off.
