No lie. I'm sitting here reading this and I JUST rewicked my Chalice as described earlier and am blowing clouds as I type this. Just make sure to keep that wick WET. juice it up every three drags or when you feel the slightest flavor drop-off.

Thats why we got Reo's, right? So easy feed!

The Chalice is more forgiving to over-squonking as the juice will drain right back into the bottle. I have found that I can juice the ERA/Hornet till I just see a bead of liquid start to form at the air hole. When in doubt I like to slide up the door and watch the juice travel up the tube while squonking. Hold it for a three count with the juice filling up the tube and I know my wick has been wett.

Hildicat, would you be so kind as to post a pic of a horizontal coil in your chalice with a rolled cotton wick? I wanna see how the rolled cotton master does it. Thanks bro.

I am by no means a master of anything. That being said, check out this post

This is my current set-up for the Chalice and its been working very well for me. BTW, I've had that same coil in place for over a month, though I swap the wick every two or three days.

I checked out that thread and noticed your setup. The coils are so closely spaced it looks like they touch. Do they separate enough not to short when you squeeze them?

No. Most of them are touching, and I'm not getting any shorts. I think the key is to heat your wire before coiling, then when installed, pulse the fire button several times to get it red hot before finally inserting your wick. I read somewhere that when the Kanthal heats up a thin layer of 'something' builds up on the wire that prevents it from shorting.

Don't know if any of that is true, but I do know that its working great for me.

Joe, is it copacetic for the coil to touch the cup in the chalice?

V4pe_Chase, is that the ""Violet" hornet? I like it. I was thinking it would be lighter than that.

Violet Hornet is almost exactly same color as purple powder coat REO. Not very dark or light. Sorry about not posting link or pics; on phone. I've posted pics in several reosmods threads. Perhaps some nice person can post a link.

Hornets - Red, Gold, Stainless Steel, Grey (not quite as bluish as shows in picture), Blue, Violet, {big pic} Gold. Not shown is Orange, if it exist, but the "bamboo" DT, sitting on Mini Woodvil, is same maker and it is orange, and not shown Pink, and Torched. Colors are Anodized Aluminum but SS base just like comes with SS and Torched SS.

After receiving my hornet, its not my go to device. I figured it would be after the videos etc, but my new fav is the Evod.

Reason is the inconsistency.. Sometimes its OK and tastier than a RBBC aka T3, but after less than a day or so it's hit and miss. Sometimes I get a nice vape.. Sometimes it tastes great but no vapor.. Gurgles sometimes and doesn't screw down nice at the end. Like a notchy feeling when I snug it. Gets hotter than a pistol compared to a rbbc

IDK. Guess Iv only wrapped a few coils so far 30/28 3mm silica with the same results so I'm not all that experienced.. But its just so much easier with the Evod. Very consistent, not as tasty and wet, but more satisfaction.

I'm not about to sell the hornet since I haven't tried hemp or SS etc and Im a holder/horder.. But I wonder how popular rba's will be in the future after china figures it out. They are getting very close and I prefer their design over the genny because it doesn't expose you to as much silica, if you use it.

My first coil wrap with the hornet.... i was blown away. i never blew out that much vapor in my whole life and it was super tasty. i was convinced that this was the atomizer ive been looking for. My research paid of. But i do agree that it gets pretty hot after chain vaping. i guess its ok to take a break because its so damn hard to put it down. Every atomizer gets hot when chain vaping right?

Yes it is. it is pretty dark actually.

Violet Hornet, in my picture, taken on very overcast day, best for picture taking, is the closest representation of color I can get with pictures. It's pretty true, depending on your monitor calibration.

I got it! I know I posted in the photos and storage thread, but thought I should also add my thoughts here.

I got a stainless steel one and I'm using it on a mini. My first impressions are so good, I'm seriously thinking of a couple more to outfit my other mini and VV Grand. It's made very well and feels very sturdy.

Also, people have mentioned the close post configuration. For me, it's a plus. My coils fit perfectly

I love this thing!
