Day 1. I had a coughing fit that lasted 15 minutes the day before so I was motivated.
Your draw technique may need a little modifying. Mine did. Take a draw, hold it in your mouth longer than you would when smoking then inhale it if you want. That will stop the TH from going WHAMMO on you. :) The Nic is absorbed in your mouth with vaping and not through your lungs.

That is the nice thing on vaping, you don't have to inhale the vapor, although you can, to enjoy the vape.

There is a huge learning curve coming into ecigs. It took me about two weeks to fully get off analogs. It was all about finding the right pg/vg nic and caramel coffee that finally got me of the stinkys. Been about 4 months now w/o cigs except for the one time I ran out of juice at the bar and smoked a couple of cigs. And boy those cigs were nasty! Felt like crap the next morning ( and it wasn't the booze)

I just got my eRoll and to be honest I cannot see myself using this everytime! I have a 50/50 pg vg vanilla flavour from american eliquid with medium nicotine and the throat hit is just too much!! Its annoying. So I just wanted to know how long it took you guys to quit when you got the ecig was it a matter of days? Weeks? Months?

Thanks!

Personally 1 day (pushing 3 weeks no cigs now)... Essentially the time it took for me to smoke my last cig in possession. Though to be fair, the mini cig I got and flavors (Volt 78mm + all 3 variety packs which included 15 flavors) was a well enough replacement considering...

I really made an effort to get used to them. There was some adjustment where my throat was sore/hard hits. Though this mellowed after only a few hours. I still get it too, usually in the morning all my hits seem to be harsh in the back of the throat... but that goes away after an hour or so. Still trying to figure out my system, once that is done I will look into solving that issue.

A few things I learned, which people will already tell you but from my experiences....

1. Vaping at least for me is completely different in some ways. The biggest one for me was getting used to a new "pattern" of smoking/vaping. Usually I would have a cig about every 45min roughly. With vaping you really can't do the same, I get sick if I try to vape like a smoker aka 10-15 drags within a 5 min window. Now I more consistently vape... taking a drag or 2 every 5-10 min. Now this could be because I am using lower nic level juice (18mg), but even so I see the pattern change to be consistent even with adjustments.

2. The first week, I found my vaping usage to be similar to what the vendors say 1/2 78mm bat charges a say and about 1 carto a day. After about 5-7 days though I found that I was using 2-3 cartos a day and obviously more bat charge cycles.

I would get sample packs and find a flavor you like and stock up, get various stuff... a good number of packs, a bottle of juice and a few clearos.. Try things out, find what you like.

I literally quit the day I recieved my first kit. I believe choosing a well known vendor for juice is what you need to do, and nicotine content can increase or decrease throat hit depending on how much you chose to order.

don't talk yourself into failure before you even get started. either you want to smoke, or you want to quit. if you are expecting a problem free vaping experience, you will be dissapointed. plan on frustration, pain, and suffering while you endure tobacco withdrawal. still after 1 month you will see definite rewards if you commit. it's all up to you.

It took me four years! Literally! Then one day I broke down, bought a VV vision spinner, a clearo and a bottle of 36mg candy flavored juice. I quit *instantly* on that stuff, by accident on my way home from the B&M store. Still had two and a half packs of unsmoked smokes left that I had seriously planned on finishing. Haven't had a single puff of a cigarette since I made that purchase.

The right hardware and the right juice (especially nicotine level) and *remembering* to keep it charged and on you (a backup device helps) is essential. Totally painless for me, no real withdrawals after the first 24 hours. Didn't even think about having a cigarette after the first week or two. But the most important element of all is having the right state of mind.

I really wanted to quit smoking. YMMV.

When I started I was vaping the wrong way. I would inhale it directly into my lungs. Thanks to the info provided on this forum I quickly realized it and changed that. It only took about a week to completely quit the cancer sticks, as I was having a few here and there to avoid the harsh throat hit from doing it wrong.

Ordered disposables (flings) from White Cloud. I still love those things for convenience, and they had a big sale. So I
ordered 10 I think in various flavors and strengths. Then one day a week I would do nothing but vape on one of them,
until it was finished. I knew I was done with analogs when the day after vaping on a fling I was craving one, LOL. So
to answer the question, about three weeks I think.

I smoked my last analog the day I got my E cig. But for about a week after that I would enjoy a cigar or two a day. It wasn't until I got a few flavors some, nicotine, vegetable glycerin, and propelyne glycol that I was able to quit. This gave me an opportunity to find what I like. It has now been a full month since I smoked analogs, and I find I enjoy 10mg/ml 100% vg. So try to experiment with different nic, pg, vg, and flavoring levels. You might find a concentration that suits you better.

P.s. https://shop.perfumersapprentice.com/default.aspx has a flavor section were you can get 4ml samples for $1.40, and they last for a long time at about 3-6% concentration.

It was love at first vape! Once I really gave a cigalike a chance, I ordered a kit. Used disposables until my kit came in and now it's better than I could have ever imagined. I will say, take your time! I had trouble sleeping last night, and it took me vaping on a BLU disposable (higher nic) to get enough nic to fall asleep. I have stepped down for the most part to 12mg, but last night I needed a little more to take the edge off. Be gentle to yourself, your health will thank you!
