dont know exactly how much I spent the first couple mo but it was under 500 supporting 2 people. had 3 diiferent model ecigs finally settled on egos. it didn't take long to start to diy my juice that probably saved a bundle since I tried so many flavors I can't count. been vaping not quite 1 1/2 years and now spend less than 100 every 5-6 mo for 2 people. what helps is we both like a lot of the same stuff and I try to catch sales before I run out of supplies
I started with a tornado tank and a load of juice, I liked it and thought I would upgrade, so I started looking, I then thought hang on I know were Im going with this Ill end up buying a tone of e-cigs before buying a shinny mod, so I did my research found what I thought was the best and bought it, a GG so I thought well done good move Ive probably saved myself a tone of money by buying a top mod well actually not, I now have the GG an AFS feeder tank, and 3 Super T's P18 P16 and a P+ 18500 when it arrives, and that's not to mention all the attys and cartos and batteries and all the different flavored juice that I buy and yet I always go back to ry4. So I will probably brake even in 2025.
Don't forget to factor in the money you save on hospital bills and meds, or the extra money you make because you won't be missing work and coughing up blood until you die.

I spent almost $500 to start. I would have spent almost $350 on analogs in the 6 weeks without analogs. I have 4 510 batteries, a passthru I use in the car. 2 eGo 650 mA batteries & 2 900mA batteries. I have a boatload of cartomizers of various types, I have quite a few filled & empty carts. I have enough of my menthol juice (about 180 mL) I have some other juice & some flavor & nicotine to make ejuice. I would have to buy anything else for a few months anyway, not saying I won't.
As some others have said, I'm more interested in my health. I smoked for 45 years. I absolutely feel better now at age 59 than I have in years. If I never break even, I don't care, I know I'm getting healthier and that's all that matters. (Just I hope I don't end up spending more than I did on analogs & that I never (never!) smoke another again, amen.)

I didn't start vaping to save money....I simply did it to save my life.
Along the way....I've saved money to...alot of it.
So it's a win...win...for me.

Yes I have spent allot on E-cigs but I spent allot on E-cig scams that didnt work too.
Yes it can be an expensive hobbie,butonce you find the right one, then its just a matter of fluids and carttimizers.
I smoked 2 packs a day witch is about 10 dollars a day. I figure I go through about 10 dollars a week in juice and about 5 dollars a week in cartimizers, and if I quit I bought a GREAT mod that has a GREAT resale value. So all in all I think its allot cheaper in the long run.

But.. You yanks and your complaining about costs. Pfft. I smoked a pack a day (in Australia that's ~USD$20 a day, ~$7300 a year)
So will I save? Yes, most definately. I will start saving after 8 days, with the ammount I've spent so far (just into my second day of vaping)

Everyone gets into the try this, try that thing for a while, but smart vapers do some reading and buy a kit that lets you get some vaping time out of a battery. Atomizers are mostly fine, but there are some that are easier to fill and produce the right heat for the battery voltage you are using. Finding the right combo is key.
Some people like the cooler vape levels of a 3.4v battery. That would be the eGo. Other people like the slightly warmer vape from a 3.7v Riva battery. Add to that the differences in wattage provided by different atomizer resistance levels, and there's a sweet spot for everyone. I like having both 3.4v and 3.7v batteries around and 2.0 ohm - 3.0 ohm atomizers and cartos.
Then there's variable voltage vaping. That's something that people don't get into at first. We all have to try a few things to convince ourselves what's best. The good part is that we have funding from our old cigarette habit to spend on toys without feeling guilty.

I would agree with everyone health as the main thing here, without doubt, and if I’m honest regardless of the money I am spending I really like my new hobby for that reason.
ha ha bnrkI've spent about $300 in 2 weeks trying to figure out this whole vaping thing and think I'm getting close (3 different starter kits, juice, cartos, etc.). Traditional smokes cost me almost $250/mo, so it shouldn't be long before I break even and start saving money.
Beyond the money aspect, it's been a hell of a lot easier to avoid analogs than methods I've tried in the past (patches, inhalers, pills). It looks like I may finally "kick the habit" for good this time. To me, that's damn near priceless.

LoL. I completely agree. Since I started vaping I would guess I've broken even. I'm probably not saving much money but my health has definetely improved. Plus, it's become kind of fun. I love trying new a new PV and the different juices. It's become a fun hobby overall.
Haven't saved a penny. I'm prolly in the hole financially versus cigarettes. But gosh I feel and smell better and enjoy life much more.

It's been a long time since I have been here on the forum. I also spent hundreds at first, ..two kits till I found my m 401, that I was devoted to for more than a year and a half. I settled into simply ordering replacement parts and the 2 same flavors from the same vendor since then. I have spent, on average $30 a month. I am really happy with that number.

I have found that I like not having to think about this too much..which is why I started lurking the forum for advise because I got frustrated with the constant charging..dead batteries..leaky liquids...stubborn atty's.. this got to be too much work...so i slipped up..bought a pack ..and HATED the nasty things...guess I am Hooked on PV's for good.
I am back to "new toy" status with my eGo-t (one week now)..so I need to get.......lol.
The one thing that saves me a lot...I give up on "flavors"..I never like them...Decided yesterday (after hating my newly shipped vanilla) to ONLY order my two faves ..(I mix menthol and strong mint...for over a year) most would consider that pretty boring...bur I guess I am just looking for my experience to be predictable

Tell me about it. Last I heard Australia is the 3rd most expensive country in the world to buy smokes? I think the top was somewhere like Uruguay at about $27 a pack.
It's quite sad but the government makes billions every year off the tax of tobacco that I doubt they'd ever push for people to switch to vaping.
