I started with an 808 kit and an extra 5-pack of cartos ($29.52). It was (iirc) $0.54 more than a carton of analogs and lasted a little longer than the analogs would have.

I wanted to spend about what I would have spent on analogs until I had all the hardware I might ever need, but it didn't work out that way -- 2 regular batts, 2 XL batts, a passthrough, some cartos squirreled away for the day I don't have any, and an extra charger gives me a comfortable cushion on all fronts at lower cost than 10 days of analogs.

I'm weaker on the juice front -- only about 10ml of e-juice on hand and perhaps enough mixing supplies to make 100ml of non-nic juice, but another 90ml is on its way (at the post office either today or tomorrow).

$185.06 since 12/4/10 to get completely set up and have enough juice to last until the middle of next month.

I still use about a pack of analogs a week because of places I can smoke but can't vape, but I would have been buying those anyway.

I started my vaping adventure 3 months ago in October of 2010. My total so far is $440.

Here's a breakdown:

Vaping Hardware: $196
e-Juice: $244
Total: $440

So if I subtract the money saved on analogs from my vaping total:

$440 (vaping total)
- (minus)
$292 (money saved not buying analogs)
_____
$148 = is the total money spent on all things vaping when I subtract the amount that I would have spent on analogs. Not bad at all considering all the analogs I've missed, and how great I feel not smoking all those other chemicals.

In the last 3 weeks we must be in for about $350- A Riva 510 for me, a joye 510 for the Mrs. Extra batteries, chargers, attys, cartos, drip tips, actually extra extra everything. I like having spare parts. Plus about 8-30ml's of juice and about 12-10ml.bottles. all in a few different nicotine levels. We spend (spent) about that on analogs a month so as far as I'm concerned we'll be ahead on the analog game in a few weeks. And that doesn't include how much better my health feels already.
It's been a day over two weeks for me and a day over one week for the Mrs. So far, excellent.

Gosh, I wish I knew how much I've spent, how much I would have spent, etc... I can't even begin to add it all up. I keep my significant other stocked with 510 mega battteries, atties, and juice. I have bought at least a dozen 510 batteries, dozens of cartomizers, probably 5 atomizers, 5 different mods including a buzz and a tek with the evercool circuit, two 510 passthroughs, a Riva kit, about a dozen bottles of juice, 5ml - 30mls, and a small DIY juice mixing setup.

I'd guess I am in it well over $500.

On the other hand, what price do I put on my health?

2 weeks ago today was the las day I used tobacco.
That said.
My wife originally bought a 510 starter kit $50, I used that for 2 days till I realized it was lacking in every way, so I ordered a Joye 510 mega kit, actually two kits, one for me and one for the wife, various juices, all at 16mg, and 10 extra mega carts $190 or so. That was way too weak for the wife to quit. So I ordered $80 worth of juices at 24mg. One hour later I also ordered a t-Rex, and one more bottle of juice $50. All of that was from esmokeronline.com.
Yesterday morning I ordered a tank atty and 5 tank carts from liberty flights. $23.
The t-Rex is their version of the Joye ego.
I think I'm good for pv's for a while. I'm LOVING the t-Rex. 8+ hours battery use is WONDERFUL. I'm just tired of that filter taste when the cart runs dry. Can't wait for my tank system to arrive. I just got an email from them saying it shipped today.
My only paranoia about all of this, is that I will run out of juices, I could see myself spending some serious money on that just to have a few months backup.
Right now I'm scared about it, and I have 4 30ml containers that are all over 3/4 full, and 20 5ml containers. Silly of me to be worried about it, but I don't ever want to smoke again.
Next thing I need to look into is where to buy e-juice in bulk.
Other then the juice thing I think that is my initial set up, however I am worried that after my wife tries out the tank system that she will want one too, so we might have that expense to overcome in the near future, also my wife can't seem to make the switch as easy as I did. Shes been trying off and on for a couple of days, but today she is straight analogs, not one hit off of the PV.

I got the V4L XL's, which is two batteries, a USB bypass, wall charger, USB charger and 5 cartos. 70.00
Two packs of 5 empty cartos, a 30ml of juice, and another two five packs of samplers. I think I'm around $135 with shipping.

I've used the ecigs, but tomorrow will be my first with no analogs. I really don't know how long this supply will last as a 2 1/2 pack Marlboro light smoker. Hoping for at least two weeks. At $96 a carton in NY... I need to find out how to get one of those sigs that shows how much money I save as a I go.

My first ecig order was delivered Jan 31 2011. $70 for a Riva 510 Lite Bundle and 16 5ml bottles of ejuice in various flavors and nic levels. Two days later I ordered 2 more bundles and a couple more 5ml bottles for my son and his girlfriend $68. To day I ordered some driptips, a lr atty and some more juice $28. In a week or so I'll probably know which juices and atty we like and stock up.

WOW $96 a carton.
I live in Myrtle Beach and got ...... when they recently went up.
Marlboro with tax=$48
my brand Pall Mall with tax=$29.13
its harder for me to justify my $400 spending spree then it would be for you. I was at 3 cartons a week.
In a month I will have broken even, if I don't spend any more :)

I am feeling MUCH better! Misery loves company! Much like dormouse, 5vz, ropetrick and others I have spent quite a bit. Started with the GreenSmoke and overpaid - $130. Some GS carts and overpaid - $90. After getting over being intimidated messing with juice and attys I bought the Joye 510 - $50, and some juice samples $50. More juice samples - $45. More juice $60 ... I had trouble figuring out the nic levels I needed. Was going to get extra batteries for the 510 because I am constantly charging them, but then the eGo was almost as much as a few 510 batteries, so I went for that - $60 (very happy about this though). So far I am somewhere in the neighborhood of $600, including a few extra attys, carts and shipping costs. Now I am working on what I am going to order next!

My first order was on January 10, 2011. Since then I have ordered a lot more things spent a total of $365.75. I have been smoke-free since January 25 (16 days). 16 days times 1.5 packs of cigs at $5.50 a pack comes to $132.00. If my math is correct, I have spent $233.75.

But hey, I'm proud. I haven't ordered any additional juice today (hmmm, it's still early in the day;)).

I have spent $457.09 so far.

However I have enough stuff to last 2 people vaping for at least a month and probably more. Of course the batteries should last much longer than that, but the month estimate in based on having 100+ ml of various juice.

Not all of this expense came outta my pocket. A very generous friend of mine made a deal with me that if I did the research he would shell up the money to buy 4 of us all the stuff we needed to start vaping, this totaled out to be around $600 for everything. He owns his business and does well for himself, still an amazing gesture of kindness and friendship.

If I bought nothing else I would reach a break even point in about two weeks. Having said that I have no intention of not buying more stuff. There are still some things I want. A Provari being one of them.

I take my addictions very seriously. :)

Cheers,
VMS

I got my first kit (MaxxFusion) on Jan 10, 2011. In only a couple of days I ordered a PT kit that came with 5 cartos. One set each of prefilled and blank cartos. A week later, an order of 25 blank cartos and 3 small orders of juice samplers and a 30 ml from Johnson Creek. I had to replace the PT after two weeks. I think it shorted out! Burned up a carto and scorched my desk. Got a box of clearomizers(really enjoying those). All told I have spent about $245 in a month. My brand of analogs was $37 a carton, smoked 1 1/2 cartons a week. Haven't quite broke even yet but will if equipment lasts! Vape In Health

I started with the Npro kit at 7-eleven, 20 bucks. And also bought some extra cartridges for additional 20 bucks so, the answer is $40.

If I had known better I would have started with:

1 Ego passthrough batt 650MaH -- $22
1 Ego cone -- $5
* some attys/cartridges and lots e-juice

...and still make it with the same amount of money. But at least I started, I'm not smoking and that's what counts... can't put a price on that.

I'm just about breaking even now. LOL

Since I started I've bought:

1 510 kit
4 xtra batteries
car charger
USB car adapter
PCC
3 eGO USB's
2 Riva Kits
2 boxes of Boge 2 ohm Cartos
2 boxes of XL Cartos
1 box of Fluxomizers
3 Tank Attys
2 Boxes Tanks
1 Box extra carts for the 510's
1 pack Fluval
1 Tackle Box
LOTS of different juices but have found my favorites now

Plus I won an extra 510 kit and a vGO kit

I'm pretty much set for a while. hahaha (However, I do want a couple of eGO USB PT's that are 1000 mAH and I'll be ordering some more Boge Cartos soon)

I think I spent about a 1000 dollars, because when I started I bought 3 different kits then I bought a couple wet boxes waiting for a chance to by a reo then I bought another reo, but I think I'm done buying PV's and between diy and vendor juice I should have anough to last me for the rest of the year. I really don't need to buy anything for a long while though I may get a few more attys come payday just to have a good stash.
