When I was still teaching, I was careful about my smoking. I couldn't smoke at school of course, for about the last 15 years. And I was careful my students didn't see me smoking on the drive to or from school. I finished before I got to my district in the morning and didn't light up til I was out of it in the afternoon. And didn't smoke in public anywhere they might be.

But, I've been retired a few years now. So I don't care about hiding my vape. If I run into former students, they're adults now.

I dunno. I'm older than many of the members here, and I stopped caring years ago about what others think of me, or what I do. I know that I was a lot more self conscious when I was younger. I vape the same, whether I'm out driving around, playing golf, walking down the street, or wherever, as I do at home.

I am sort of in between caring and not caring. I am in transition. I definitely don't vape at work but I use Snus and almost everyone else dips. At the casino I let er rip and get a lot of questions or comments that are all positive. I could probably vape at work but wouldn't even if I could.

why are you making yourself feel so off kiltered for the sake of some total stranger who is going to complain about anything they can be it your vaping, your cologne, your hair style, the clothes you wear, the car you drive, the way you treat your pets, ..... do you really think they would give you the same benefit and avoid doing something to spare your sensibilites... dont count on it....

Yes

And I count on it every day.

I also count on the one ..... out of every crowd that will be just as you say.

My thinking is that vaping is a substitute for another addiction. I don't really want to make a statement that I'm addicted to cigarettes, and this is my crutch. I can stealth vape most anywhere, which is pleasing to me, but I also see it as a symbol of my continued addiction. I see no need to impose my vaping on others. The only time I push bigger plumes is among smokers, who I want to help get off the damn smokes.

I generally use my Kayfuns when out and about. I don't vape in buildings, but I will vape in the parking lot on the way in. I ignore smoking areas at customer sites and vape my way right up to the door. I'm proud that I'm not smoking and I'm more than willing to share with someone who has questions. I haven't been accosted yet by someone who thinks I'm doing something besides ejuice. And I make sure it's visible when a cop pulls up beside or behind me (I keep a business card from my favorite shop in my wallet, just in case).

I have no embarrassment for the clouds I make while out and about, but I don't flaunt it, either. I keep away from groups, use smoking sections, etc. There is no part of me that glorifies what I'm doing. I vape how I vape to keep me off cigarettes.

I'll admit fully that I get upset when I see people fogging out indoor areas or otherwise abusing the current leniency in my town for the sake of showing off.

I work as an anesthesiologist at a children's hospital. You know how sensitive parents can be about their precious little darlings so I can't vape in patient rooms. We usually wait until we're in surgery to stealth vape. When their kid comes out smelling like raspberry bubblegum, we tell the parents it's just the kid friendly disinfectant we use. I wait until after work to switch to my subohm vg mix.

I walk down the street grinning and a puffin. But heaven forbid I am one of those rogue nurses who really never did buy in to the smoking is bad, evil, nasty, shameful, to be hidden from children's eyes , and lied about to the insurance guy etc

So if for over 40 years I couldn't swallow the BS about tobacco, why in this world would I ever hide my vape. :rickroll:

I am so with you WharfRat, I sneak in to my bathroom, pull my pants down a foot, turn my hat sideways and throw huge clouds. Next I say to the cloud "you want some of this". Then I return to my normal look, finish my game of chess and make some tea
