p.opus,

I agree with everything you said too. Doesn't sound like the Provari fits your needs.
As far as that PWM thing, I think most people are referring to the "33.3" chip and the rattlesnake effect.
I actually like it and it does change the experience ever so slightly but that's what I like about it. I have no scientific proof to back this up but it seems my disposable coil heads last a little longer on the 33.3 chip as opposed to other regulated devices I have. YMMV but this is what I've experienced even if it's just marginal.

Adam The Aussie,

After re-reading my post I can see how it's misleading, I tried to seperate my first statement from the rest to seperate my thoughts. The paragraph below the first sentence was not directed at you, sorry, should have prob made that a seperate post. But point of the first sentence was after seeing your post on not wanting to get involved, just posting that statement is sure to create more debate. Sorry for the confusion there.
The 33.3 chip regulates voltage by running at 6 volts with gaps of no voltage. The difference between the two is the perceived voltage. You are still hitting that coil with 6 volts every time you push the power button. This only applies to the V1 and V2 Vamo. Newer versions have a better chip. The 33.3 chip is more likely to blow coils than any other chip, so I'm kind of confused by your statement.

To answer your original question, I think some of the posters here are shills. Actually, there's not a doubt in my mind.
I think some of the posters here are idiots, but I seriously doubt any of them are shills. People recommend what they like and have had good experiences with...My uncle swears by Subarus, and has bought 5 of them over the years, his kids all drive Subarus, but he hasn't received a "well done thou good and faithful servant" check from Subaru.

Edit: I would totally be a shill for ProVape if they paid me $$$. I would totally stop recommending twists and MVP's to newbies. Face it. ProVari's sell because of the durability factor and customer support. They don't need shills. Chinese products sell because they are cheap and sometimes have more features than other APV's. They don't need shills either. Quit trolling.
Just my opinion but I think a lot of people are looking for VW these days. :vapor:

We have 3 Provaris... and 2 Subarus, and would recommend Subaru to anyone because they are good, reliable cars. (And two Mazdas, and a classic muscle car, and a "hot rod" 1976 motorhome). You mean I should have been getting checks all this time??

Useless astronomy trivia but...:Subaru is the Japanese name for the Pleiades star cluster (M45, or "The Seven Sisters"), which in turn inspires the Subaru logo

Doesn't hurt me at all that you or anyone else is using a Provari, I use one too. Not sure what point you're trying to make to me, but whatever it was I missed it. I'm happy to talk about all of my devices, just not in this thread.

What is that in your avatar? It looks nice, clean, and simple.

As far as the 33.3 chip, there a tons of mods that have that chip, not just the vamo v1/v2. I was thinking about my z-max when I mentioned the performance of that chip, but I do seem to get a little more time out of my coils with the 33.3 chip. Like I said I don't have scientific proof just my real world experience so to say. Sorry if that confused you.

I learn something new every time I enter a long ProVari thread. :)

What confused me was the fact that scientific evidence proves that the 33.3 chip runs hotter than other variable chips, which should stress a coil to point of failure more often than other chips. Other people have experienced premature coil failure when using a 33.3 chip, as have I.

I was confused because your experience is not the norm.

This topic is just annoying. These guys go out their way to sell you a Provari and for a fraction of the price, you can buy a mech or an MVP with a drilled out RDA or a Kayfun and get way better hits.

I had things at a fraction of the price. I just wish the Provari users would have been in my threads when I was asking questions. It would have saved me time and frustration. I described what I wanted and the Provari fit, a few people steered me away from the Provari. It would have been cheaper to get one from the start.

I figured out early I was going to want a larger, medium, and small device.

I came in looking for a desk based device that have the following qualities. Heavy so it would be stable, capable of a larger tank and larger battery, I wanted something to last for years, I wanted simple. I was not worried about the cost of replacing but the trouble of replacing. I wanted a permanent fixture for the desk. I wanted something that could fall to the floor over and over again and be fine. I wanted it to stand on end so it would not take up much real estate on the desk.

A couple of people calmly said sounds like a Provari but others jumped in and steered me away. I got what they suggested, a long tall eGo with a 6ml tank. It fell over a couple of times from being top heavy and finally all the juice spilled out onto the desk. Fail. Get a pass though, well that would not stand on end, and the cord was always in the way. Fail. I got something fragile that failed. I finally after after a lot of Frustration got a Provari. Was there something that would have served just as well. Maybe....but more was spent on other things than the Provari. It was a pleasure to use, a new user can figure it out in just a few minutes, it took the falls, and it is not in the way.

I have things passable in the medium and small category but still not exactly what I want yet. Maybe it is out there but I have not found it. I have gotten close but not quite it. In the large device category I am happy. I had a lot of frustration till I got the Provari. I am not going to be doing RBA's because I don't want to spend the time with them. I want plug and play and the Provari is close enough for that. If there is something better than the Provari it does not matter, it is good enough for me and does everything I want.

The closest I have come on my medium sized devices is V4L Titan's and Zeus. I would dump the Titan's and Zeus if something that matched what I want better comes along as they are not quite what I want. The Provari matches my wants so well for the large device I am in for the long haul. I wish Provape, the Reo guys, or Super T made the thing I want for my middle and small device but they don't.

Povari + Subaru owner here too lol. Must be a reliability theme ....
(Every time I post good words for both products, my bank account explodes=shill)
I did get a good laugh at the shill thing though, how many other names can we be called at this point???!

Looks like it might be an EPM Mod.

Funny you say that, after looking at all of the stuff out there and realizing that what I really wanted was the Provari because of its reputation and qualities, I was hemming and hawing about what I should buy instead because I wasn't sure I wanted to drop so much on a mod (since I haven't smoked since 2000 I can't justify it on what I'm not spending on cigarettes). My boyfriend said "Just get the Provari, you'll get there anyway" because he knows it's true. I would have bought something, it would break, I would buy something else, it would break or I wouldn't be happy with it, and hundreds of dollars down the line I'd finally go for the Provari. I still went to look at other stuff at our B&M, spent some time with them, and walked out with a Provari. A wise man, that boyfriend! I'm so happy with it I have no desire to buy something else; it does everything I need it to.

Oh, DAMN. I forgot to put on my "Hello My Name is SHILL" nametag!

I skimmed the other thread so I could have missed something but in my skimming it seems to be rather nice. My large device is working out nicely so I will not be changing but if that was out when I was looking I might have considered this device. I would have to have done more than skim but looks really nice. I might have missed this in the skimming but where is the display?
