Oh well, it appears to be my turn today - I can't "like" or quote anything right now.

@Fab - good info! I will keep an eye on the charger (although I only charge something when I'm in the same room). I didn't know any of that. I got the Nitecore because it got better review than the xtar. Pilas are nice, but way out of my price range.

Can I hide in here? Seems I started a war today:ohmy:

Doesn't seem that big of a war (although I don't know what started it). From an outsider it looks like someone needs to adjust their nic level. But I'm always confused about which way. Are they cranky because they are having a nicotine fit or because they are wired?

we (that means YOU, puppy) don't hide! we post silly things...like goats :) apparently about 150 of these goats are grazing the property surrounding the Ronald Reagan Library (close-ish to my house) to clear brush, reducing the risk of wildfires. I should go see them...

Good info, Thanks Fab! You can never have too many batteries!! :D

Especially at this price; two batteries for $6
$6.09 TrustFire 18650 3.7V 2000mAh Rechargeable Li-ion Batteries (2-Pack) 2-pack at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I spent hours looking at batteries and found it very interesting that the discharge rates and times for these are often as good or even better than batteries with much higher ratings. Solid technology. Now that I have two of them in my PVs I've got to say they are indeed performing as good as my batteries with higher ratings.

If you really want to stay with name brand cells, then these Panasonics seem to be the real deal:

For newcomers I would recommend spinners just because I own a provari will not change that.

My trust fire is slow was looking at a nitecore i4 it has trickle charge.

We are loving the i4.

Grabbed that one because it also charges the rechargeable batterys the hubby uses in his keyboard and mouse.

From dead battery the i4 charges a single 18350 in an hour max. which is about 1/6 the time it used to take me on the trusfire

On the contrary I was advised to start with the twist or spinner. But it is truthfully funny. One said at the end of their post that I may want to just get the Provari because eventually that would be what I will be using.

Bah. Everyone is probably going to hate this, but that never stopped me before:

The twist or spinner or whatever-similar-class-vv PV is a good start for most until they get into it themselves and do some research and decide what they like. They are relatively inexpensive and OK for average use. Easy to understand. And they work for a while. If the user ends up upgrading later, they still have it as a backup. So...yeah. Why recommend a high-end device since they don't know what they even want yet?

I use box mods. I do it in part due to using stacked batteries. I love the box mod. Fits in pocket like a pack of cigs used to. NOBODY would have recommended a box mod to me as a newbie. ALL would have been wrong, no matter what they said unless it was a vv box mod.

So...get a spinner. And do some vaping. And figure it out! :) ;)
