Fab I don't walk ;) There are no sidewalks here for me to roll down to "Walk" the dog, I would have to roll down the middle of a fairly busy street. LOL. I can't even do the play in the backyard thing as we have no yard. When push comes to shove it just wouldn't be right for me to take on a doggie friend.

As for my cat friend. When my former hubby and I went to look at the kittens she bit him on sight and crawled into my jacket purring. I KNEW she was the friend for me. hehehehehehehehehehe

Nice Kitty

Sorry, I wasn't aware of your situation. You know it still doesn't rule a dog out, but getting outside a couple of times a day for toilet breaks would still be a requirement. Also, did you think that a dog might be trained to do stuff like open doors and pick things up (as long as you don't mind a bit of slobber)? When I was growing up I trained my labrador/red setter cross to open my bedroom door. BIG mistake :D. I only had to show him once, and then it couldn't be unlearned.

A cat is a pretty good choice though, and there's plenty of them need to be rescued as well...

Ok Fab the various devices I tried on it were 1.8-2.5 ohm as measured on my vamo. ;) When it acted up ALL of them acted up. When it started working ALL of them worked.

Yep I need to try firing it with no device when it is acting up. That might tell me something.

I am thinking it might well be I need flattop batterys and the only reason it is working now is I happened to put it back together exactly right.

I am also sort of wondering if maybe the control head was too hot right out of the mailbox. 2nd try it had sat in AC for about half an hour. SHall we say Louisiana at this time of year is as we put it around here "a tad warm." Like we hit 98F today. hahahahahahahaha

The temperature shouldn't really have caused the problem on it's own, but if there was also some condensation caused by it, then yes, that might be a factor.

Next time you have the battery out have a look how the head fits on it, but I actually do not think that is the problem. If it's a battery contact problem, they usually either work or they do not. It would have to be something like a really poor contact that was causing a very high resistance, as in something just barely making contact.

Funny matt that you bring that up. Been a few years now, but at one Thanksgiving dinner at my sisters house while we were eating, her cat (boots) walked up to my chair and stopped and looked at me for a second and walked off. I didn't think anything about it until later when I found out the cat had died a few months before Thanksgiving. I never told her about this, in fact before now I think I mentioned it to about three or four people.

Not the only odd thing that has happened to me, so I have no choice but to believe there is more to this world than just what we see. The other incidents were even more bizarre.
