Oh, twisted kanthal of the same gauge will be half of one strand of kanthal on it's own. Twisting kanthal of different gauges would be.... not recommended
ETA:
If you want a lower resistance than you get get with a single strand of kanthal, you might want to investigate using nichrome wires (toaster wire, if you like
ETAA: The resistance of 32g nichrome is about 0.85 ohms per inch I think - having trouble finding a proper table ATM because I'm on a sloooow ISP.

I found the chart, sort of. 32 gauge A1 Kanthal is 1.15 ohms per inch. 29 gauge A1 Kanthal is 0.57 ohms per inch, almost exactly half. Twisting 2 lengths of 32 together should get me exactly what I'm looking for. I have plenty of 29 gauge already, I'm just trying to use up the boatload of 32 gauge that I have. No nichrome for me thanks, I already have 500ft of various Kanthals.![]()
Greenman is such a fanboy! I do not get it.
They send a lot of business his way I guess.
Well done Fab!
You should do instructional videos on how you build things. With you patience and ability to explain things well, yours would be the toast of ECF!
I don't use sweet cream TFA. The manufacturer says on the website "Ingredients: Natural Flavors, Propylene GlycolOh boy, mixing some small test batches and did I screw up. Those of you familiar with Tobacco Absolute will enjoy this.
Wanted to try a cherry tobacco. Used TFA 555 because it doesn't need to steep for weeks like the M Type, anyway this what I did.
All TFA flavors except cherry
7% 555
1% Acetyl Pyrazine (adds a nutty flavor)
5% cherry (loranns)
7% Tobacco Absolute, I never used more than 1 to 2% of this, not quite as strong as M Type, but this is about 7 times more than I would recommend.
Oddly the stuff seems kind of weak, medium tobacco taste with a slight taste of cherry. I am sure the flavor will change as it steeps, and my taste buds have probably O.D. from tasting samples. Strangely I kind of like it, maybe a little more cherry.
Also tried a varition of the Boston Cream Pie, couldn't get the Vanilla Swirl, so I got Vanilla Bourbon instead. And I cut back on the chocolate due to Myrany stating it was fairly potent. All flavors TFA.
10% Bavarian Cream
3% Double chocolate, (recipe calls for 5%)
2% Vanilla Bourbon, ( recipe calls for 3% vanilla swirl)
.5% Sweet Cream ( not in orginal recipe )
4% Graham Cracker (recipe calls for 2%)
Really not bad, considering I butchered the recipe. I'll see how it steeps.
This is what happens when you try to mix and listen to Mod Envy at the same time, didn't help the shoulder I had surgery on has been hurting pretty bad for the last few days and I took one of the pain pills I got back in December. O.C. 20 mg. Now I am all niced up, but hey the pain in my shoulder is back down to about a 2 to 3 on a scale of one to ten.
Oh, and once again I managed to escape winning anything on mod envy.
I don't use sweet cream TFA. The manufacturer says on the website "Ingredients: Natural Flavors, Propylene Glycol
This flavor contains a small trace amount of the Custard Note Acetoin." Acetoin can contain trace amounts of Diacetyl which is known to cause serious lung disease.
The closes substitutes I have found so far are the bavarian cream and vanilla swirl. Though with my next flavor order I am going to pick up some Whipped Cream flavor which has neither Diacetyl or acetoin listed though it does have triacetin which is a tank cracker.
I have no doubt the sweet cream will improve the flavor. I just personally choose not to risk it
Perfumer's Apprentice for info on the acetoin/diacetyl relationship

Yeah, I read that. I don't normally use those types of flavors either, and you are better off avoiding them. I though since I would use such small % of it and it only contains a small % of acetion to begin that the amount of diacetyl, if any, would be minuscule.
On a side note, I just dropped my pitcher of gatorade, just can't seem to buy a break in the last 12 hours. Of all the silly things that have gone wrong within the last 12 hours, for some reason this aggravated me the most, didn't even spill much. Cracking the Viva Nova, not a big deal, accidentally adding more Tobacco Absolute and graham cracker thereby screwing up two juices, it happens. But spill 2 ounces of Gatorade, now that irked me.
