! Congrats on your nectar win, hottie! Report back on that macchiato, as I'm on the look-out for a good version of that particular flavor for Aunt Rose. And, speaking of coffee nectar (that still seems too redundant to say), good luck on perfecting the one you're working on, Shadav - I bet our DIY wunderkinds can help you fix it up. Just saw Helen Hunt at Ralphs...wow, time and again, they all really do have GIGANTIC heads in person
!

I totally missed you were wanting to go to NOLA Becks!![]()
I actually lived there for a year.. it's a dump and beautiful.. the smells are gross and delightful .. many things at once! I'm not making much sense here lol.. just woke up..
HI HO - HI.HO it's off to work i go!
Hottie.. meesetracks! Woot!
i'm going to have to look up this "silica sleeving" stuff....i can barely imagine a 1mm crimp bead! hair extension beads are usually 3.5mm and they are pretty small LOL
I might have to get the magnifying glasses with LED on fasttech LMAO (partially kidding...)
lynnie not just meestracks...meesetracks *macchiatto*
i was going to try the original but then fanceedan said that a lot of ppl prefer the macchiatto and find the orginal's hazelnut to be overwhelming....
i practically hold my breath when walking by the candle section at any store because the hazelnut is so strong and nasty (granted they are usually cheap candles but still LOL)
i have heard about a lot of ppl "winning" and not receiving their winnings....i don't know what kind of rules should be in place but it is kind of shady for ppl to see others winning and think "wow that show/hosts and vendor are so cool!"...when they might not be.

) I don't feel guilty pouring it out in the sink. DIY Nectar is fun, but often frustrating!Fab I considered doing it that way but unless you are using a silk pin the point of the needle is by definition breaking fibers inside the wick. I prefer not to do that on my long wick clearos since fraying/breaking wick is frequently what sends me recoiling to begin with.
FOr non sewers: Silk when punctured by a pin leaves permanent holes. So you want the pins/needles to move the fibers aside as much as possible rather than cut them and be as slim as possible to minimize hole size. Hence pins specifically designed for use in silk.![]()
So did I!!!
Did you do the "aiyaaaiyaaaa" cry, too?![]()
The nature of a needle point is to cut. It is by definition cutting fibers in there. Use a silk pin it is shaped to push the fibers to the sides. A needle is not.You don't actually push the pin through the fibers, just gently between the bundles and up the middle:

It makes for a round coil and an easy wrap.

<- does Couture sewing
Will a blunt needle work? I have needles that don't have that sharp tip.
You can try it. It might work. It is also possible it will break things worse because of the difficulty pushing it in there.
Honestly I just hold my paperclip next to the silica and my coils are plenty round enough![]()
