Yep, not my finest moment.

The bad part is, I have an account with Provape, so I manually input the wrong shipping address, not sure how I managed that one. Sigh.

OMG!

I put the wrong address (off by 10) down with Provape, so my ProVari went to the wrong address today and was returned. Now, I gotta wait for it to travel west & east again....ugh.

Instead of having my bad-... black satin ProVari today, I am most likely looking to see it early next week!

Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Tapped out

You didn't need another Prothingy anyway, it would have just made the other one jealous.

These days I am not a monogamous person. So I really need more than one, in the spirit of my drinking and skirt chasing my way to an early grave!

Yep I ordered the Nemesis clone. No way in hades I'll buy the real one. Just my opinion, it is not worth $185/$200.

Did you oxidize your mesh and wire before you started? I have had days where I had to load the mesh with juice and light it & let it burn off several times before I could get rid of the hot spots.

Past bed time.. gotta work in 5hrs. 18min. arrrggg and grr! hehehe!

i did oxidize...maybe not enough....

i have the nem clone (along with prob 30 other things) on my fasttech wishlist LOL

hogtie is funny....like pigpen or a character on duck dynasty or something LOL

is anyone from this thread going to ECC in anaheim?

He he he he, FIRE!, FIRE!, uh huh, huh, huh... I have had good results with forming my wick first, then finding a drill bit that is slightly smaller to wrap my coil around, leaving fairly long "legs." Because the coil "springs back" a little bit, I can then wiggle the wick through. Then I put the wick with the coil on it into the proper cavity (see what I did there?) and make final height adjustments so that the coil is positioned with the middle of the coil centered on the air hole in the cap. I connect my lower leg first, then the top and give a dry burn to make sure there are no shorts or hot spots. It doesn't take much of a nudge or poke to remove a hot spot. Honestly, I don't pre-oxidize my mesh wick, nor the coil. Maybe I've been lucky but it's worked for me fairly well.

well what the crud...my wire isn't touching anywhere (anywhere that it isn't supposed to) and the first question i am asked is "did you oxidize the wick?"
i am going to have to go find my drill bits...pretty sure i have multiple sets LOL
(my garage was super crazy organized and i could walk in and immediately find everything and anything....then came mom....now i have to move her packratting "treasures" out of the way to even see the shelving :( )

I THINK most of these use a 3mm hole for the wick, and a 7/64 drill seems to work perfect for me when I'm using 34g wire. If the wick is a little tight, I'll use a 1/8 drill to wrap the coil. An alternative is to buy the ceramic wick from Provape (I think it's about $6) and if you're careful, you can wrap the coil directly on it.

Fire the kanthal before trying to wrap. This anneals it and makes it softer so it's easier to get a tight wrap, and not so easy to break ceramic wicks.
