Thanks Fab, the surgeries have been awhile, triple bypass June 21, 2012, shoulder Dec 6 2012, so I have healed from the physical wounds. The deductible for the insurance and the six months off work in such a short time have taken a big financial toll that I have yet to recover from though.
Hope you enjoy summer in the down under, winter just slapped us with seven inches of snow, and it has been way too cold for December here. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours.
Ah yes, Christmas in the tropics. The shadows at midday are *very* short in Summer here. Christmas day is usually either stinking hot or pouring with torrential rain. At the moment the most likely outcome is stinking hot in the morning and torrential rain in the afternoon... we shall see. It's more like the weather I grew up with - Extreme heat interspersed with bouts of extreme excitement.
It leads to some interesting and I suspect peculiarly antipodean Christmas traditions. Christmas Brunch is usually done on the barbecue - you cut a thick steak off the ham and throw it on the barby with some eggs.
Yes, smoked ham and eggs, Queensland style. Mmmmmm.
