I love my Provari, and have never had any issues with it. I also love my Vamo, mech mods, ego-t's and even my vapor zeus. I don't think there is a universal answer to anybody wanting the "perfect vape". It's truly subjective.

Simply because you don't like Provari's (or so it seems) doesn't mean that others won't, however, I agree that people shouldn't blurt it out as the end-all be-all to every problem. It sure is a nice mod though....:2c:

...did you ask yourself "what would Beaker vape?" He wouldn't have to worry about his hands being too petite for a big mod:laugh: -

And you accused me of excessive effort for a pun on the 'alot of tornadoes' thing?

Now I have to find out what a Cobra-type RBA is....back to the shopping mall. ;)

No worries...

Both the RSST and the Cobra are both Genisis style RBAs. (Has your head exploded yet?) Basically, you have two sections, a tank and an atomiser. The atomiser has one or two holes through which you extend a wick into the tank. There are two terminal posts to which you attach the coil. The coil is most often left in the straight vertical configuration which lends itself to a straight stainless mesh or ceramic wick.

I used the term "Cobra style" because one of them is definitely a cheap $8 knockoff from Fastech, while the other one I'm not sure about even though it came in an authentic looking box. I got both the China GG and the authentic looking Cobra from the Aussievaper classifieds (Australian, obviously). Between that, my Fastech order, and an order from a local supplier that included the Protank and class bottles to put my nic base in and another bunch of flavours, it has been a very big vapemail week.

BTW everybody, you know that photo of the really bad Cobra clone coil on Fastech that was reposted in this thread somewhere, well I think I got the exact device as was featured in that photo. Either that or the device they sent me has been given the same stellar treatment because my example has the coils sticking off the side of the wick as well.

Ok, just going to ask instead of continuing my indecisiveness, VAMO with RSST? Or just stick with the clearo's like my evod and protank and save the genny-style for a mech mod down the road? Just looking for some opinions while I'm shopping tonight, VAMO should be here by the middle of next week.

OK, here's another answer. I'm actually preferring the Cobra on my Vamo at the moment. I've got a good coil that is working really well, but it's 2.2 Ohms which should be about right - giving 8 watts on a fresh battery.

In actual fact I'm preferring the Cobra on the Vamo at least 9 watts. It performs much better and makes more vapour. I'm thinking that the stainless steel wick is acting as a heatsink, and requires a leetle more power to get the same result as I would expect from a device with a silica wick.

So, I'd have to aim for maybe a 1.8 or 1.9 ohm coil to get the same result on a mechanical. But that's with a fresh battery. What about when the battery is at 3.8V, or 3.6V?

No doubt I'll have some answers once I've recoiled this thing a few more times, but that is not going to be tonight. I've got the cheap copy to get up and running as well but that will be another adventure I think.

Bottom line is, I think a VV or VW device is perfect for an RBA coiled on mesh. There's too many variables and I'm sure it's possible to get it all sorted out but it's so much easier to use the Vamo when you've got a good working coil at higher than the expected resistance.

Are you sure the bunny isn't passing wind?

I know you were asking about Steph's bunny GIF....but then I looked at her avatar. I like the bubbles in her avatar. I've always assumed they were from the breathing vent hole.....

Now I'm not sure. Thanks for that image, crazy cat. :(

P.S.
Good morning in here........

That is the key right there. You can't run SLR coils on regulated devices ... they will sense a short and cut off, usually anything below the 1 to 1.2 ohm range. Thus the need for a mechanical.
