The "LR as in 2.0?" I'm sure I've posted that, but 2.0Ω is usually listed as LR, so I can't be the only one who's noticed it.

It wasn't about anything with the post itself, only that the entire thread, including yours, had been duplicated and attributed to a different users on a completely different forum/site. That's why I said it didn't look like you! :)

eta: Of course, I could be completely mistaken and that is actually you! :D

J/K!!

Any tips on starting off with it? It'll be my first mech. Much researching in my future I do see.

Yes, you might want something with a bit higher resistance to start off with. Remember it will be driving at 4.2 volts with a fresh battery, and the voltage will drop as you use it. There's no cut-off, so if you hold the button down it can fry the juice and the coil. I have a love/hate relationship with my mechanicals. 4.2V x 4.2V / 2.8ohms = 6.3 watts (or in English, volts squared over resistance equals watts. I can use the Protank with a higher resistance coil on the K-100 but an RBA is usually a good/better choice, but it has to be running well.

Be very conscious of your battery. You don't want any shorts, and you don't want to run the battery below 3.2V (I don't run mine less than 3.5V, worst case - it's just nicer for the battery). The usual battery safety tips are very important with mechanicals. Use safe chemistry batteries (or know the risks), don't use a battery straight off the charger. Test the battery voltage before using it, and fire it well away from your face the first time you use a fresh battery. It will have vent holes, that means if the battery did let go, that's where the really hot gasses are going to be coming out of (this goes for all mods, not just mechanicals. IMO they put the vent holes in the wrong places a lot of the time, like next to the button).

Thanks Fab! I have Efest IMR 18650 and 18350 batteries, and I never use them straight off the charger. They typically get put up for at least as long as they charged, if not longer between uses. I try to run the batteries equally, so if I used an 18350, when it is low I switch to the next 18350 before going to the first 18650 in line. The MKB from MOV (where mine is coming from) says they ship it with one shorty 510 extender and one ego to 510 adapter, so I'm hoping this lets my AGAs and my IGO-L fit well. I can already tell that I have much to learn about the world of the GG stuff, as it seems it is a bit more intricate than some of the other mechs that are just a "standard" 510 connection. I will look into the COV adapter caps as well, although they'll have to wait until I get some vape funds gathered. Thanks again for the info.

No worries. I should have asked if you have a multimeter. It is useful for checking battery voltages and coil resistance, and making sure the coil is not shorted out etc. You should be just fine with those IMR batteries. I still don't recommend stacking them however since it reduces your margin for error. All the same principles apply no matter what the device, but a mechanical has no bells and whistles or short circuit protection so It's a lot more hands-on.

Here is the link to the original thread, I think you were post # 4 there as well:

Uncanny NGAHaze, they say we all have a double, apparently everyone's double was posting the exact same thing in a different forum. Or Kamry just just copied the thread and put different names on the posters, nah, a Chinese company that makes knockoffs wouldn't do that, that would be a cheap tactic.

Interesting. Viewing an alternate parallel universe perhaps? ;)

Good morning, everyone:)!

SO sorry your sinus infection is back, chelle:p. Try to get as much rest as you can, okay?
Hip hip hooray for winning that mech mod, Chimps :toast:!
Feeling better about only having watched a grand total of five minutes of ModEnvy:unsure:.... I'm just waiting eagerly for the new Playboy-sponsored vape show:laugh:!
SO glad you're feeling allott better, Ferrel!!
All I can say about my day in Central L.A. yesterday is that I'd love to coat the ......s who engage in dog fights in honey and lock them in a small room swarming with carnivorous gnats:mad:.
Hoping that my x-ray later today shows that the two broken bones in my foot are nearly stitched up. This Aircast feels like a little oven for my foot these days.

Three years ago would you have had any idea that someday you'd know what this post meant?

A year ago I wouldn't have imagined I would understand all that......oh wait.......I still don't understand that....

That's ok, I don't need to understand :p

Good morning fantabulous people :)

I do have a multimeter now, but I still just use my vamo for ohm's checking and volt checking the battery most of the time. This will likely change as I get used to the mech.

You bother because all of the info you post is now pasted to my growing word doc about mech stuff, and it will be referenced many times as I start into this "brave new world." :D

Absolutely, as usual your post was spot on! But did you know you had someone out there who was duplicating your posts? :)

Nope, no idea. I've seen my graphics duplicated many times too, that's why I've started signing everything. It's not that I care they're being reposted, I made them to be shared, I just want credit.

They could have at least made me a feline.
