Had to take the pool down today....the landlord FREAKED about insurance this and liability that......

I guess they just don't understand that the only people in it would be us, we live in the sticks so no one is going to "wander by and fall in," and now I have to try and explain to my non-verbal, special needs 7 year-old why he doesn't have a pool anymore....

Steph my best advice as someone who did that move from the south to the north thing at one time. Soon as you get there start hunting winter boots (that don't slip, my Echo boots were worth every penny of the $200 I spent on them. Didn't slip even on sheet ice) and a good winter coat. You might be able to catch a deal now on last years fashions. If you wait another month though the new stuff will be in and things will be more expensive.

Then there are those mornings (when you don't have to go out) after an ice storm when you look out your window and see trees that look like they are made out of glistening ice crystals in the morning sunlight. Gorgeous!

Yes the ice can be beautiful, so can wind blown snow. Mother Nature has a strange sense of humor though, despite its beauty ice and snow can be very dangerous, even life threatening.

Of course there are other sides to it. Like the morning I woke up to 3 ft of snow and the stupid snowplow driver managed to bury the apartments trash bin under a 20 ft pile of the stuff!

Fair warning snow plow drivers are not always the sharpest tacks in the box.
