i totally forgot...when i first started the video the pups were going bonkers because you can hear a dog's tags jingling periodically behind/around him.....i was like "wow they don't like this guy like the ocey does" until i noticed the tags LOL

Same here, Fergus always hears the background noises that I don't.

Congrats to the flipper slipper and the slipper flipper... er, did that come out right?

Camping out at the house at the moment, sleeping bag and all as there's no furniture (camping table and chair only). A bit chilly this morning, so here's a Westie spelunker - he disappeared and I found he'd gone back to bed!

Came across an interesting and very useful rule-of-thumb (ROT) this morning over my morning coffee (yay!). On AussieVapers they were talking about dripping atties and someone offered this ROT advice for voltage: take the resistance of the atty and add two to get volts. So, a resistance of 1.8 ohms would mean you would use 3.8 volts. A little hot maybe but probably about right for an RDA. How about this, for Protanks and other bottom coillers... take the resistance and add 1.5 to get ROT volts...

For a 1.8 ohm coil that would give 3.3 volts (bang on the money) and for a 2.4 ohm coil that would give 3.9 volts. Also bang on the money for a Protank or Vapeonly Mega.

For other devices these two figures give you a useful range, lowish to very high. Chuck away your power tables and vape on! (or get a Vamo, and vape on)

Of course there are other sides to it. Like the morning I woke up to 3 ft of snow and the stupid snowplow driver managed to bury the apartments trash bin under a 20 ft pile of the stuff!

Fair warning snow plow drivers are not always the sharpest tacks in the box.

I'm here to tell you, neither are the people who pack up your house for you. I had pile of stuff they weren't supposed to take because I'll be here for a few days cleaning and painting. Somehow they managed to take my spare 18650 batteries, my ADV juice bottles, and probably stuff I haven't missed yet but will do when I get to the painting stage. I'm good though:

vape.jpg

Left is the FT K-100 with FT evod, right is Vamo with Vapeonly Mega and FT Cobra drip tip.

ETA: the K-100 is in 18350 mode, obviously

Looks back a few pages....think I remember warning you about that ;) Me and the packed half bag of dorito chips :)

How do you like the K100 I am looking at mechs and fasttech has a nifty deal on the K100.

You did indeed warn me, which is why I had a pile of stuff including the DIY box in the background put in a special place they were told not to touch. I'm sure the batteries and the juice bottles were on top of the DIY box. I'd just received four Ultrafire 18350s from FT along wth the evod and was charging them, being very careful they did not get taken, so I've got those, the single fast charger, the 18650 that was in the Vamo, and another 18650 that is in a torch.

The K-100 is excellent. I did sand the chrome plating off the bottom firing pin so you can see the brass for better contact, it makes pressing the button a little easier. I've also discovered that you are supposed to screw the telescoping part all the way in until it stops - this makes the switch throw much less. If you leave the telescope out so that the switch only just makes contact it's much harder to press it in, and it can misfire. My first mechanical was a china GG, and if you screw the telescope all the way in you destroy the spring, which is soldered onto the post, so I was being overly cautious. The safety ring on the K-100 is large and easy to use, it has a deap threaded ego fitting so can use evods (unlike the Vamo V2 which has ego threading but is not deep enough for the evod to work, and the GG wich has a deep well but no ego threading on it)

Speaking of the GG, I kind of wish I hadn't bought it now. It's fiddly, the safety is tiny and difficult to use. The first time I twisted the safety too far the button unscrewed from the post connector and the button flew out - losing the spring in the process. The safety (hot) spring is too soft and gets compressed, and it's soldered onto the bottom center pin, and because you can't do the telescope up too tight it rattles all the time. No, the K-100 might also be a clone (of the very rare Empire) but it's an all round better design and build. For the money ($25) the K-100 is a brilliant deal.

Who my friend you asked me to let you know what ended up working on the hardware side for me and punching carto's for tanks. Well we finally have a solution that even my bad hands can manage and its impossible to overpunch.
Supco brand
Bullet Piercing Valve
BPV21
For 1/4", 5/16". 3/8" tubing
B11-039

Thing locks the carto in well. DOes not crush at ALL. Turns easily and will only go in so far. 3 times all the way in and then out again punches a hole just the right size for my 50/50 juices without burning a carto or flooding (2 holes).

Well that settles it for me. I was debating between the GG clone and the K100. K100 is hitting the list for next months order. TY

I was a little worried about the bottom button with my hands but you gave me a good idea how to loosed it up so I should be able to make it work. Broke a pinky as a kid on my dominant vaping hand and it has never been able to take repeated stress without pain since.

Hi Myrany, knowing you had trouble with your hands is the reason I mentioned sanding the contact and the tip for screwing the telescope in all the way. It is a pinky pusher however, and the GG takes less force but in a different direction. If your problem is after the first joint you should be OK as I always use the first knuckle on both devices:

pinky.jpg

On the K100 it's pretty easy to use your ring finger as well though:

ring.jpg

It's probably not as awkward as it looks - much more comfortable in fact, plus you are using a stronger finger on that big spring. The GG has a smaller spring (especially when you lose it!) but it's really only practical to use your pinky on it.

ETA: I have small hands - I take the small size in riggers gloves and mechanics gloves, so the K-100 probably looks bigger here than in someone else's hand. Using the ring finger is also stronger because the pinky backs it up as well.

Oh the plow drivers KNOW what they are doing. One of my co-workers once found the drivers at my shop had buried his car on all sides one day. It was their way of telling him not to park where they put the snow every singe time they plowed before.

I want more details....When did you decide? Around when's the move? Does glee make Pancake go quiet:p?

As soon as I can sell my MacBook Pro. It's a 2010 4 gig 235 storage 13inch model should fetch enough to cover things. I still have my tower it should last another year or so I hope. So we will have that and her laptop. I can always get another laptop later I only haves one Steph.

Very nice. It's okay I slept on the floor for a year in my first house when I was 22 lol. Well it was a bed or a kick as computer. I am a geek. Nuf said.

Nice have to give dat a look once I start getting vaping gear again. Thank you :D. uncrushed cartos = good

Thanks everybody for the great warm words for me and Steph. We are working out the specifics now, but it won't be long we are doing everything we can to make it happen fast. Selling off things that we don't really need or have not used in years. That stuff that just hangs around and takes up space and gets in the way when you are looking for other things.

The way we both see it is: This is where we were headed anyway. Why wait a year or more and deal with the expense of traveling and the longing for each other when it feels so right now? That travel money could be moving money instead. Life is too damn short let's live and love it now :D

It's hard waiting though I'll tell ya lol... anybody wanna buy a well loved MBP?

In vaping news I got my Itaste and I am loving it. I also got the panda juice and I am not loving that. There will be a delay in video making till things gets sorted with the move, but Lord Pancake will return in... When Pandas Attack Part 3 Revenge of Genma!

Trying to figure out my new mt3s coil setup dry hit city and threading issues. God some days vaping is a pain in the ..... Sorry life is keeping me busy.

On earth so far away.

Huh, I'm supposed to be painting the house...

If a bottom coil is drying hitting, then it's not wicking fast enough, or the resistance is lower than you expected it to be.

I just got one of the Evod clones from FT and found the installed coil was 1.8 ohms, not the advertised 2.6 ohms. Replacement coils are 2.4 ohms as advertised though I did have one that was reading lower for some unknown reason initially. The installed head was also longer like a Protank head, and it was missing the 'O' ring seal. Meh, it was $3, just make sure you get extra heads.

My liquid is also 60/40 and I pulled one of the flavour wicks out of the replacement head before I installed it. I have to say it's working nearly as well as the Vapeonly (see photos, above) on the K-100 and maybe just as well as the Protank now the new coil has run in. I did find I had to be careful with the 'O' on the base when screwing it down, and I always seem to get liquid on the outside as well. Much messier to fill than than the Protank, which is no trouble at all.

Sending some of my good vape-fu your way.

That's what I do on-the-fly. Add 2 to any resistance, set the volts to that number and you'll always get 8 watts. I know I like it cooler than that, so I set it back from there. I like my Protanks about 5.5Ω.

Are those both your hands? Perhaps it's the angle, but my first thought was buying gloves must be a problem.
