That simply is not true, just because you made a flea-market purchase. Before I knew better, I gave almost $14 for an Evods from a B&M. The 3 Evods I have direct from China are exactly the same, but costed me $2.65 each, so I can't understand how people keep saying there is no big price difference. Did I have to rinse them out? Yes. Was it worth the $36 I saved on three items? YESI picked up some cheapo's CE4 knockoffs at the flea market and waisted my money. The coil heads are not interchangeable and the quality sucked. There are good affordable products out there that are name brand and will last. The joytech eGo-c batteries are awesome and have been working great for the last 9 months and going strong. Tanks are all about the same price. I use and like the kangertech EVOD, vivi nova, and redux tanks and splurged on a protank a few months ago. Like anything else, you get what you pay for and often times will spend more on the knockoffs in replacements then if you saved and purchase a good product.

No, you don't get what you PAY for. You get what you PURCHASE. Paying any specific sum of money has NO bearing on the quality or lack of it of whatever it was that you bought.
If we do our due diligence, our market research, and do our own calculations of what the value or worth of an object is for us personally, we'll make intelligent, satisfactory purchases.
It's not just economics, it's psychology. We all know that, it's nothing new. All marketers play on your self-image...that's how they sell to you. So, you play along or you don't. You want to appear patriotic (or xenophobic,) ? They'll play on your "Proudly Made in the XXXX" point. You want to appear cool, rich and above us all? They'll play on price points and exclusivity.
Me? I just want to vape in peace and quiet, with stuff I like and money left over to do other things with.

Maggie; the voice of reason. It's not often I hand out these, but you've definitely deserved one:

Lets not forget China CAN produce these items for next to nothing compared to the U.S The average income for someone in China is roughly between $150 and $250 per month. Hong Kong is one of the exceptions at just under $700 mo. Americans get paid more. The cost of running a business here is ridiculous. Benefits for workers are terribly high, payroll taxes, insurance costs, advertising, the list goes on and on.... For those who have forget , that's why so many business have left here. So I strongly disagree, that Americans are price gouging. The cost of doing business is astronomical in the U.S. Therefore the higher prices!
Wasn't too long ago when "Made in Japan" meant inferior quality..Chinese are getting better and better at Manufacturing just about everything we use! An exact copy..is like a counterfeit..I don't care for that..But I'm thankful i can order directly a quality mod from an "Asian" country without having to go thru a middleman. Wanna be upset about this...be upset at Big business and the Politicians who undercut and sold out our own domestic maufacturing base with "free-trade" to begin with.

I respect others decisions, but the "you spend more in the long run" argument is kind of ridiculous.

MaggieMW, Apparently there is a culture difference with my statement "You get what you pay for" for those who get what I'm saying that's great but IDK what you got out of my post that suggests that I'm flying my countries flag higher then anyone else's. I did the math on purchasing knockoffs and if I pay one US $ for a knockoff and it only lasted a week then I would be spending 4 bucks (dollars) a month for the same tank I purchased for 4 bucks from the original manufacturer where by that same higher quality tank has lasted me for 4 months. Bingo dude. I saved $12 dollars by paying the extra 2 bucks for the real deal right from the beginning.
So...no body is playing me for a fool just to purchase something because it has a made in the USA label on it. None of the products are made in the US, they are all made in china. HELLO. The difference is that I prefer to purchase on my own accord a product that isn't junk in the first place, and if I choose to support my local businesses directly instead of sending my money to another country then that is my prerogative as well.
.... anyone who could afford to smoke can afford to buy a decent ecig set up, with out buying copys clones or fakes.
