Just made my second coil. Blew through the first in 8 hrs. It quit making vapor and not much flavor. Took it apart and I had burned the wick badly. Was black and coming apart. Ruined the wire too. Hadn't subtract the .1 so it was made at 1.2

Anyway I ran that thing extremely hot. The whole Iatty was hot to the touch. Love to vape like that, but ruined it. My fault. Anyway new one is 1.6 and I'm making sure not to heat it up constantly. Dripping too, since I like to change up flavors. I know, it's a tank. I will get another and use it as a tank for when driving. Other than that, I'm a dripper.

Imeo I think it depends on the flavor of the juice, some flavors get very harsh and taste overcooked when the voltage is too high. I'm assuming it's because some chemicals have a lower burning point than other chemicals, so when the juice is overheated, it totally changes the taste of the vapor and cannot be vaped because it is too harsh. That is what I mean when I say 'overcooked'.

I am running 4volt at 1.5ohm right now and it is not overcooking at all. But the previous flavor I used overcooks very easily at anything above 3.5volt with 1.5ohm.

What makes the iAtty so special is that it wicks very efficiently, so you will never get that dry burnt taste when the coil gets to hot and has no juice to vaporize (as long as the Cone is unscrewed a bit).

control airflow? need to get GGTS!!

Are you not able to adjust the draw by how tight you set the iAtty to your Magalodon misterD?
It works on my partners and mine. Though on one, the pin has been pushed in from the top, by overtightening and so even if I turn the brass on/off button to the off position, it still fires.

Would like to find out from those who have received their iatty, who uses which method for their iatty and the pros and cons for each method used.
1. coiling the resistance wire to the wick method
2. method - changing of wick without changing wire method
Thanks for sharing.

Both times coiled wire to wick. Next time I will try just coiling the wire. Just saw the video tonight on that one.

Me too. Will also try tonight.

It is impressive but I have a lot of experimenting to do. I thought I made a 1.7 but my 3.7 was just not enough flavor or vapor, I put in a couple tenergys and its vaping up a storm. I still think the best taste in the world is a fresh carto in an AVS so far..........:)

definitely stick with it because I can attest to the fact that GREAT flavor is possible in this thing. I am realizing more and more that for some reason certain juices do better in replaceable attys, For me personally, I have had to get through a funky taste before I started enjoying certain juices on a fresh coil but with other juices that funky flavor was non existant, this has been with both the iatty and others. Maybe I dont even know what I am talking about but that is the way it seems to me so take it as you will. I am loving this tank full of Kona cream!

You definitely know what you are talking about atavanhalen. This is 100% normal. I have been using rebuildables for a long time with various wicking materials. The off taste you are referring to the resistance wire building up it's oxidation layer. Once the layer is built you will only get the residual taste from whatever wicking material you use + the taste of your juice. The fiberglass wick Imeo chose to send with the iAtty is a good one. It is surprisingly clean as far as coloring the taste of the juice.

The juices that don't get thrown off by the oxidation build up are usually the juices that burn extra clean and therefore tend to clean the coils as you use them (at least that is what my experience has been). Most everything else will taste funny for the first 20-30 drags if you have good wicking material, longer if your wick transfers flavors :)

I can attest to that. The Perique from Vaperite is 10 times better on the Iatty. RY4 from W2V also. Some others not so well. Hey Atavan - your message box is full again

Absolutely agree. Malty Toffee dripped tastes much different than Malty Toffee in another format. I stick with dripping MT to get the best flavor.

But, Vanilla Bean tastes better in the Iaitty. I'll just enjoy and let the smarter folks than me figure out why.

I am LOVIN' this setup with Vanilla Bean.
