I have been using 30ga .999 pure fine silver as my NR wire and it works great :)

You can get it at 1/2oz (100') .999 US Fine Silver 30 Gauge Round DS Wire - eBay (item 400174020403 end time Aug-14-11 09:20:04 PDT)

It's 100ft so it should last a good long while and allow you lots of experimental coils. I prefer the silver to nickel because it has even lower electrical resistance and higher chemical resistance and will not leech into any of our juices.

It's a little more expensive, but it's peace of mind for me because the wife like cinnamon juices and those are very highly reactive, but don't bother the silver at all.

Cool, thanks man

fine silver is about 7 times as expensive as the nichrome imeo uses.. (between 6-7 times)... yet i opted to buy 20 feet of it for experiments..
For my primary iAtty, i want to use Imeo's specs and nobody else's.

The fine silver is for the no resistance wire, not the resistance wire. I use 32ga kanthal grade a-1 for resistance wire. That costs me $4.50/75 meters ;)

I am not going to say my setup is better or worse than anyone elses. It is what I like best, some may prefer it some may prefer another variation and still others will prefer Imeo's specs. Vaping is very subjective, just like smoking. That is why there are so many brands of analogs and so many brands and mods of e-cig and so many flavors of juice. In time everyone finds what they like best and it may or may not be what I like best. C'est la vie, kwim?

So, like I always say....

Happy Vaping :)

Wow, that is a bunch, I hope it has a long shelf life. I ordered 10 ft. Even is I use 2 inches per coil that's 60 coils. Considering I purchased atties at 5 to 10 depending on whether I was restocking or just trying some thing out. 100 yards is 300 feet or 1800 2 inch wicks. I'm not ranting on you just fascinated by the massive amount of wicking material 100 yards can actually produce.
I actually did order a 100 yard spool of the wick. It will be delivered to me tomorrow :)

As far as wick and wire, I was loaded for bear before my iAtty even arrived. :)

My shopping list of items to have on hand:

100YD spool of 1/16" FG wick
90 meters of Kanthal .13/.16
300 meters of .236 NR wire
300 meters of .16 resistence wire

I don't do anything half-assed

The price break is quite significant if you buy 100 feet, if I remember corectly so you may want to split the cost with someone.

well, true.. but i'm getting the Nextel 440 (XC4-116)... it seems the better candidate after perusing the technical notebook.
Everybody else got the Nextel 312 (XC-116).

If anybody wants to go in with me, then cool. but nobody seemed interested.

I have already mention that silver or gold plated wires are better for the NR wire Dream, exactly as lord said. I didnt buy them because they were too expensive. Nickel is not bad of course but those other wires are even better. Higher electrical contactivity and better attitute on liquids buddy. :)

XC4 has a higher continuous temperature rating
XC: 1200°C (2200°F)
XC4: 1375°C (2500°F)
& has a higher short term temperature rating
XC: 1425°C (2600°F)
XC4: 1550°C (2800°F)

and it's *stronger* as well..

Did you see the Technical Notebook? Google's Translate page might make a fun translation of the document, haha.
