i'm having a hell of a time measuring resistance with my multimeter... holding the red and black leads to the wire, i cannot get a stable measurement.. If I blink it offsets the measurement. My multimeter is an auto-ranging Craftsman Model 82344..

Do I need to return this for another?

no you will get a fluctuating measure usually up and down by 1 or 2, ie 2.6 2.7 hope this helps

Sometimes my multimeter does that but other times it doesn't. I think some multimeters have attitude problems.

Sears closes in 45 minutes.. Would clips be better than leads?

I would have both lead and clips. They both work for different things.

Are you moving the leads up and down the wire when you're testing it? Keep it steady on one part of the wire at a time when you're finding a resistance you want.

Also pressing hard on the wire with the pins seems to help.
I measured on some atties too a few times, once you get the same reading a few times too, you can be fairly certain where you are at.

I bought the test lead kit which includes the alligator clips and mini-hook probes. The latter is giving me a stable reading. Also, the banana plugs in the kit are significantly better than the ones that came with my craftsman multimeter. weird, huh?

Having mine arrive disassembled was fine for me and i would have most likely took it apart within a day anyway

Its a shame you can't ship separate for those that don't mind putting there own together

Honestly, given the choice of a kit or complete anything I typically pick the kit because I like to know or try to figure out how things work and why they were designed the way they were. That's just me though...the consummate tinkerer

Maybe I will not make the coils but I will send it assembled iaswni and Dee. I agree that the first thing that someone has to do is to dissasemble it because he cant assemble the coil in another way but I will avoid complains like this. Some people already said that they prefered it assembled so they will now how it was before they disassemble it. I dont blame them of course because they like it this way. Its not all people the same

Making coils doesn't make much sense, we all like different resistances. If you want me to take some macro photos for you in a step by step process, I will most certainly do that for you as soon as I can. That way everyone can look at close ups of the coil making process. I will even do different variations if you teach me them.

keep your fingers tight on the leads and tense the whole wire dream

I just got mine assembled a couple hrs. ago minus one O-ring in the ceramic. I will say there can't be a dumber person around than myself when it comes to attempting to assemble something that I know nothing about. I watched each video step by step while doing this.

I was very careful, got it to 1.3, assembled it and it vapes like a locomotive. Put in W2V RY4 as I always wanted it to be a tad stronger. It is now. Iatty is great. If this buffoon can put it together, anyone can. I mean that. I knew nothing about attys before putting this together. All I ever did before was order them and vape.

Great job Imeo, I can take 6-7 hits in a row without worrying about blowing the atty now. I will say I got the tank hot the way I was vaping. Did quit vaping after awhile as I had had enough. Never happened before on a normal 1.5 atty. This thing is great. Increased flavor, tons of vapor and I got to lower the resistance to 1.3 instead of my normal 1.5. I think I may make it lower next time. No, I don't care for HV vaping, but I may try it with this.

I desided to stop sending unassembled parts because the market is not ready for this. I run fast but the market goes slow, thats what I see. So better to push the brakes for now and the future will show us the way. You are the man that can follow for sure but people like you are only a few. People like you check the GG forum almost everyday, they like to discover things, they have patient etc. But most people are not like this and I totally understand that so I have to please them too

Same here, I've normally got my ecig glued to me, I've even managed to drop one in the washing up bowl before as the blooming mouthpiece fell off while I was doing the dishes

I've found that by varying the length of the resistance wire I get different Ohm coils.

The first one I made using the method on Imeo's video gave me 2.8 Ohms. The next one I made I used 1/2 cm less resistance wire (3.5cm coil) and this gave me 1.5Ohms, perfect LR which I personally prefer. I'm vaping at 3.5 volts and it's amazing.
