After one happy week with my first coil at 2.0ohm I decided to try the wick over the coil setup and Im not getting good results. Try two times and both results in broken coil after two hits. First try was at 1.5ohm using kenthal 36awg and the second at 1.8ohm using the wire included with the iAtty. Maybe Im missing something or Im doing something wrong. No problem with the regular setup but you know, want to play with the iAtty.

You will want a heavier gauge kanthal for that so it will stand up to being fired without that much juice on it. Also make sure the cone is open 1 - 1.5mm and if you are using the air CR make sure it is mostly closed so you will put enough juice on the coil. Wetting the coil with a drop of juice will also help you to get it working and to have it last longer.

Don't be silly.

If GGTS and iAtty/AVS/UFS, all have the Collector tank in common, are held in a horizontal position the CT holes are high or low.

The same is true for the button. Spin the GGTS while holding it horizontal and the button and the control Ring holes are either high or low/ up or down in position to the horizontal plane.

Which in relation to the subject might explain the gurgle experienced while using left or right handed to operate it, and only if there is liquid in the collector tank. Since the iAtty is gurgling Right handed but not let handed the explanation is likely to be the collector tank has liquid in it, and the holes are rotated so that the liquid gurgles. Either rotate it until the gurgle stops or empty the tank out.

I don't refer to them as high or low which is probably why I did not get the reference. I always keep mine close to vertical and when there is juice in the collector tank I just vape it out

I will try a heavier kanthal. The wire was primed with two drop of juice and the wick was saturated of juice. No CR used. Maybe I need to open the cone a little more.

In case you're interested, I decided to give this a go tonight and it does work well with the 32ga kanthal. My coil measures 1.7 ohm on the provari with the coil wound to 4 coils everything seems to be happy. Flavor is good, throat hit is good and vapor production is excellent.

Thanks Lorderos, I will try the 32ga later this week. I did it again with the iAtty supplied wire and doesnt pop I got poor performance so I got back to regular setup and Im fine now until the next try.

I need a supply of non resistance wire, I only have for two more setup. What is the best for non resistance?

Instead of twisting the Resistance and Non Resistance wires together, why not try something like this:

Sterling Silver Ultra Micro Crimp Beads 1mm x 1mm (x100)

Using this tool:

Micro Crimping Pliers - Smallest Size Crimper for 1x1mm & 1x2mm Crimps

You would use less wire this way.

So, Fine Silver for Non Resistance Wire, Sterling Silver Crimp and Resistance Wire of your choice. No twisting of wires, Cleaner assembly. Just make sure that once the coil is wound around the wick that you place the crimps on the inside of the ceramic cup to help hold the coil in place

Crimping that small a wire securly will be a challenge. I'm using a pair of locking diamond tweezers to twist the wires. It produces a really small, tight junction between the R and NR wires.

Put the two wires in the tweezers, lock the jaws shut, and hold the wires where you want the twist to stop. Rotate the tweezers until both wires are twisted tight. Fold over and repeat.

I have tried that para but I usually end up breaking a couple wires before I get one that works... Doesn't help that I have 10 Thumbs and carpal tunnel in both hands

very nice idea Zor but we have to take care of a few things:

1. how fat will this Crimp Bead will stay after it get squezzed?
2. Will keep wires in place?
3. At the current configuration we are able to make e.g. 1/2 of round of the twisted coil around the wick to bring it exactly where we want. We will not be able to do this with those Crimp Beads.

My suggestion is to put the Iatty onto your PV and then unscrew it a tad until it's a little loose but makes contact with the positive atomizer connection on your PV. Let me know if this improves or stops the leaks.

That's one loose connector. Look at the center connector on your PV and see if the Iatty's center post is digging into it.

Using the twisted wire method, a R/NR assembly of 30 AWG NR and 32AWG R would be 0.254mm+0.254mm+0.2032mm = 0.7112mm total diameter of the twisted wire if you can completely flatten the loop made at the end of the NR wire.

Using the Crimped bead method a R/NR assembly of 30 AWG NR and 32AWG R would be 0.254mm+0.2032mm = 0.4572mm inserted into the 0.5mm hole in the bead. Plus, the length of the crimped bead is only 1mm instead of the 4-7mm of the twisted wires.

The OD of the bead after it is crimped should still be at 1mm +/- 0.1mm with minimal distortion

These crimp beads are used when making Silver Jewelry like necklaces and Bracelets. Suck as for securing a Clasp on one end of a necklace and the hoop t the other end. I am quite sure they would hold the two wires together for our needs.

With all of the above information, I don't see where you would be losing any space inside the cup or losing the flexibility of wrapping the coil where you want it.

I plan on using 30AWG Fine Siler Wire for my NR wire
32AWG or 34AWG Resistance Wire

If we have a circle with a radial of 0,5 mm then the perimeter is 3,14. The half of perimeter is 1,57. That means that this small thing will become 1,57mm when it gets flat. Its not big for the slots but we have to be careful when we put it inside slots because it has to go in the right way if you know what I mean
