Hello guys, long time no see. I have a question about Iatties. How many reps of resistance wire do I need to make it above 3 ohms? I made about 3.5 cm of resistance wire (which is about 7 reps) and it says only 2.2 ohms. Am I doing anything wrong?? My coil looks like the following

------==----==-----

The thick lines are a combination of NR + R wire and they are about 1 cm each. and the thin line in the middle is Resistance wire and it is about 3.5 cm. Do I need to make the resistance wire longer?

The only thing that matters is the thickness and length of the resistance wire. The NR wire is there to hold the R and attach to the device. My favorite config is above 3 ohms; I use .09mm and .13mm resistance wire and 4 wraps around 116 ceramic wicking to get 3.0 - 3.5 ohm coils

If you are using thicker R Wire.....Get some thinner wire; you'll be happier with how many coils it takes instead of trying to cram 6 or 7 into the space of the ceramic cup

Cool deal on the soldering, I will have to give that a try next time I need to make up some coils. I use the thicker wire, but I'm a 3.7v LR guy, I never got into the HV vaping since I never needed it with the Genisis mods I'm used to. :)

So i assembled my first iAtty, i got the wrong O-Rings but after some reading and some vaseline i figure out how to place them.

No leaking, strong throat hit, clouds of vapor!. I didn't think so much about the resistance, just followed some videos and i got 1.6 ohms. I am vaping it at 3.7volts with The Galileo and the ssGGTS.

Thank's Imeo for such a great quality device, a masterpiece indeed.

Want to share some pics of my setup.

Just to say FindingKing, the store whoe do the silver crimp beads and microcrimpers have excelled theirselves.
They sent out the replacement MicroCrimpers out by FedEx Express Delivery as I have them already.

Amazing customer support and service. :)

So good I have to quote their links again.

Here are Lorderos's pics.
Here are the pictures of the process of making the iAtty wire with 32ga kanthal, .999 30ga fine silver NR wire and 1mm x 1mm Silver crimp tubes.

Bare wires:

Wires and crimp tube - tiny aren't they?

Here's a closer look. Don't hook the wires like this, they will be too big to fit in the crimp tubes if you can magine that :)

Here is what the finished wire looks like, the connections are quite small when finished - exactly what we are looking for.

Here is the wire wrapped up on a fiberglass wick. The wire connections are holding very nicely.

And here is it all put together in the ceramic.

This is a 1.5 ohm coil using 30ga .999 pure silver leads, 32ga kanthal and 1mm x 1mm silver crimp tubes to hold the wires together.

Now it's time for a :vapor: break ;)

Those using the micro crimp beads how about some photos of what it looks like finished? I considering going either this route or soldering. Tired of twisting.

Seems like with crimping and or soldering it would be easier to make sure the length of the R/wire stayed where you wanted it to.

Looks like carol beat me in putting up the pics :)

It it very easy and neat using the beads as you can see. It takes a couple of tries before you get really fast doing them, but once you get it down, it becomes second nature.

Sorry but how does the beads work? So if you use that, no more twisting of wires? Just clamp the beads on each end and resistance wire will be in middle?

Yes, that is 100% correct. No more twisting + a much more solid and much smaller connection. The coils last ALOT longer this way too. I have had the same heater on mine now for at least 3 weeks on a stainless mesh wick with .999 pure silver NR wire, 32 ga kanthal a-1 resistance wire and 1mm silver crimp beads for joining the NR and R wires together.

I have brushed it clean with a toothbrush and dry burned it once a week to keep it gunk free. It looks almost like new still, no signs of wear at all and just keeps vaping better and better. Hits like a freight train and my juices taste super yummy on it :)

With this configuration it really does rival my Genisis mods in vapor production and taste. I definitely consider this setup a winner.

Don't quite get you here, what's the thing you brushed and dry burn? The whole coil?

One more question, after vaping finish my tank and I want to change my juice, how did you guys clean it?
