They are nice for sure UA. As you can see from my posts on this thread, mine is actually a genisis (along the lines of a scubagen v3 meets dsu v5 made of all stainless). The design of the iAtty is really fantastic and if you can get past the having to open it to check the fluid levels and the complexity of making the coil wires, it is a winner.

It is way easier to make coils and wicks for my hybrid mini with the setup I am running so that is still my favorite PV to date. The iAtty however is a VERY close second and in all fairness actually vapes better than the Hybrid once you get everything right because the feed system having the juice over the coil and fed by gravity and vaccum/air pressure keeps the wic wet much better than capillary action working against gravity like the Hybrid Mini feed system.

hey guys,i tried my iatty, but it doesnt work really well.less vape, and cant really taste the flav.now im back to atty.any tips to make it worth buying ? saw some post about silver solder.but im not really understand how it works.my iatty res is about 1.8ohm and 4 turn inside the ceramic.when i press it,the ceramic doesnt turn to red color, the vape cape from the coil.im not really sure how it suppose to work.do i really need to get the ceramic become red ? after a couple day of using iatty,i found that theres tiny black thing on the coil.hmm.do i need to clean it everyday ? thanks

I'll try to answer what I can to your questions. The ceramic should not turn red, instead it should be the resistance coil u wrap around the wick. Something is wrong some where. Iatty vape good with flavor and produce great amount of vapor. I uses 1.4ohm @ 3.7v. You need not clean the iatty everyday as it is very durable. I have not change or clean it for a week or more and it still work well. :)

vape it as 6 volts to break it amar. Take shorter inhales. Then try again at 3,7 volts

And make shure you make a tight coil around wick. When you make good and tight coil it should work.
I change wick every 4 -5 days and then just wash it with water and it is good as new :)
p.s. you can use coil again and again, just dust it off

Can I just ask, when the resistance wire is being heated, and glowing red, does it not melt the solder joints ?

I use 1200F silver solder.....doubt vaping will melt it. lol

Setup I've got going now is SS Mesh and I'm totally impressed with it. It took a while to finally get it properly oxidised, but one done; it's a vapin' machine....

I'm glad someone else got it working ad is enjoying the SS mesh wick. You'll find that if you used a durable enough coil, the only thing you'll need to do to get it back if it gets clogged is to load up the coil with juice and hit it a few times at 6V. I've been using mesh for a long time as my wicking material of choice (long before iAtty). I find it to be very durable, easy to maintain and it produces the cleanest tasting vapor I have ever experienced.

It's not simple and there is a learning curve for sure, but I think anyone that takes the time to learn how to setup and use SS mesh as a wick will ultimately be very happy with it :)

I couldn't get the oxidation right, but kept fiddling with it until I figured out what to do. First setup was great; but now I'm gonna live dangerously so I have a 1.4 ohm w/mesh......thought I'd say goodbye in case it kills me. lol

that 1.4 ohm on SS Mesh is gonna Kick Ur .... Lol, you thought a low res on the ceramic was bad ;)

Yeah, but it's really good for the VG-crowd, I usually vape around 70% VG and a coil at 1.5 ohms is really great with SSmesh.
One of mine shorted out though after a couple of hours use. I couldn't figure out why my juice tasted burnt all of a sudden. Well, it turns out that a 0.5 ohm Iatty fed by an IMR battery will taste burnt!
I guess my ssmesh wasn't properly oxidised after all.
Remember, i tried this so you don't have to :)

You'll live, no worries, HAHAHAHAHAHA. Good stuff though, really, that's what I run 1.5 ohm @ 3.7v SS mesh #325. 50/50 and the TH is nice... smooth but definitely there. My only problem is that my wife keeps stealing it and doesn't like to give it back, lol.

I'm not sure about that..........lol; just checked the resistance and it's dropped to 1.0 !

I dialed back on the voltage and it's a steam machine; but so hot I'm sure it will fail soon.

Yes....my psychic powers tell me that a coil replacement may be in your future.

In my experience, when you see a drop in resistance it means that a short has developed. You'll know it's a short if you notice a sudden and usually drastic increase in TH and of course as you mentioned, much hotter vapor. If you fix the short your coil will probably last quite a while longer. Also, if you are using a higher gauge resistance wire, it will withstand shorting for a very long time (months really)

Luckily it's an iAtty, you wil be able to fix a short in about 30 seconds :)

I'll never, ever catch up to you modders on this stuff, the mesh, wick above, double wicks, I'm so confused..............:(

Have tools - will mod!!!

But honestly, it's not nearly as hard as it seems and I put a few tuts with pics up to help the community out in this thread as with pics to go with them. If you try it you will likely get it right within a couple of tries and the materials (for the most part) are somewhat inexpensive. The silver wire is somewhat expensive, but the SS mesh and kanthal and crimping beads are all cheap. One thing I know for sure is if you try them and get it right you'll be very happy with the results. :)

Also, to give credit where it is due, the iAtty is an amazing device that really does put extreme vaping performance within the grasp of anyone who owns one. Imeo did an absolutely outstanding job designing it and I am very glad I spent the money on one!

Happy modding guys!

are you torching the hell out of it because when i leave the torch on the area i want to cut for a long time, like 30-45 seconds then let it cool and cut it i get no fraying at all. I havent tried to cut a really small piece but the cuts i make are clean everytime.

BTW im referring to the XC-116

lorderos do I need to put the wicking in the channels with the SS mesh?? everytime I cut a small piece to put there it all comes apart and I feel like breaking someones face because it pisses me off

Those using the SS crimp tubes, I just got mine in and tried to crimp the NR/R wires together. Had to get my jewelers loupe to even see what I'm doing it's so small! Got the wires crimped together (using the crimp tool) but they pull apart way too easily. Not making a solid tight connection. What's the trick?
