What is PTB MisterD?

Pyramid Tea Bags, from Lipton i believe! Vapers started using this a a replacement for cartridge filling.

Using it to insulate the mesh is a great idea if it'll withstand the high temperatures close to the resistance wire. It may also be usefull in isolating the ss mesh from the Iatty steel cone.
I think it's time to start fiddling with my Iatty..... :)

I am using my iAtty with ss 400 mesh as wick also, it is a little tricky because it is difficult to no have shorts in it, but once you get it, it works really good.

I read somewhere that the stainless steel mesh in fact does not get oxidized, instead, it gets a little layer of minerals on it, that prevents it to conduct electricity.

I am not sure if it is true, but maybe instead using "normal" water, could it work better if we use mineral water in the process?

It's possible, but I have not tried that. Once you do it a few times you will know what to look for when the surface of the stainless is sufficiently coated. :)

Mineral is rust Ariel. Like alumina is aluminium's rust. There is no other mineral that iron can produce. As for the steel mesh, if someone still likes the steel mesh and has problems with it because it gives shortings then the simple solution that we already mention here is to still use the wick but he can cover it by mesh at the point where the wire touch it. That way we dont have the bending problem of steel mesh, the shorting problem that occurs from it and we still have the better wicking from wick. That way wick will last for ever.

I use it this way just as you point me to :) Only problem is when I oxidize it, It is hard not to burn the wick at the ends of mesh. Few times my wick just brake at this ends while I was burning the mesh, but practice is mother of knowledge :)

It did cross my mind but I newer saw done it this way, but hey there is first time for everything :)

I did it once Zu. I oxidised 3 times the mess unwrapped, I wrapped it around wick, I oxidised it again for 1 time only because I didnt want to burn the wick and it was ok:)

Nice. This is encouraging :)

I have a question. Will the new ceramic cup on multiatty be maybe any bigger than this ce2 one?

I cant wait to see what Imeo comes up with on this new project!! I will be buying one if I am able to!! I loved my Iatty and really wish I had not sold the one I was so lucky to find, so fast without giving it more of a trial period!!!!! I gave up way to fast and regret my decision now!!!!! I really miss it

Imeo I'm really hoping that you are designing an easier way to attach the coil and in the redesign make it possible somehow for the R/wire to not come out of the ceramic. I still suck at creating a coil. Sure I can create a nicely wound coil but no matter what I try the R/Wire still sneaks out of the ceramic.

When I wrap the coil onto the wick either one side or the other, or both, has the NR/R wire junction wanting to also wrap around the coil at least partially because if not then I definitely have R/wire coming out of the ceramic.

Hopefully that all made sense. Ideally the coil could be changed out without having to dump the liquid and disassemble the tank for those times when a new coil would be just the ticket. Sometimes with the juice I vape, being dark and sweet, about 3/4 of the way through a day of vaping the coil is covered in gunk.

I read on the wiki that the first ecig used ultrasonic technology. Whatever happened to that idea?
