I am curious as to what the various startup e-cig websites use for payment transactions. Google checkout bans the sale of all nicotine containing products. Paypal is known for freezing accounts that sell illegal or possibly illegal merchandise. Since Ebay is apparently cracking down on the sale of e-cigs paypal will probobly do the same.

So are there any other good creidt card portals?

the fees charged by most merchant services for a small business to accept credit cards are not very different than paypal- and given the economy many are willing to take a "risk" with new businesses that they would not have a few years back.
if paypal becomes problematic- ask your bank or credit union. you may be pleasantly surprised.

I have been in the works of starting an electronic cigarette site... I have paid for a business LLC and everything. Now I had my site up for a couple days (i havent even advertised on any search engines. or made any sales) and paypal has seized up my account, until i take there logos off everything and delete my shopping cart (I even paid for the shopping cart program)... 8-o I have been under the impression that eCigs are not approved by the FDA but are still legal to be on the market. But now I read that they're illegal to sell !???

They're are a ton of websites in the USA selling these products... Whats the issue? They're obviously safer than regular cigarettes, this is really making me pretty upset with the money i have into this already and the way the economy is i cannot afford any law suits or anything. Whats the deal here is this illegal to sell or what! The malls and gas stations, and liquor store are selling them all over out here in Wisconsin!

I guess I'll start over using a diferent shopping cart program, and use authorize.net or do something on those lines. if its safe! What legal problems have any of you had!?

And so have a lot of others. In fact, it's probably the first thought that enters everybody's mind who buys their first e-cig and then joins this forum.

But, hey, join the club... and get in line.

Most of your questions can be answered by reading through the legal/campaigning section of this forum. You really should have done that homework before actually putting up capital to start a business in it.

I have been under the impression that eCigs are [..........]

Sadly, in the business and political realms, impressions don't add up to much. Get your facts straight, re-assess your business model, and try again. Keep abreast of federal, state and local regulations regarding nicotine use/sales. Use a merchant account instead of Paypal. That's a start.
