If any of you are from ukvapers.org, you will know my story. I have been trying to get back to a time that I had done 42 days off cigarettes with vaping. But that was over 2 years ago. And I would like to get back there. I have been having a hard time at said forum as Each time I state that I will vape, I tend to go back to smoking and My possible reason for doing so is that it is not cutting it for me.

I have had countless support there but they keep stating about using high nic in an mtl tank. I cannot get along with them as I have used the Aspire Nautilus mini and Digiflavour Siren V2. I use rebuildables to save on money.

My go to tank is the Youde Bellus V1. with peach 6mg/ml. I have quite a large collection of do-it-yourself concentrates. And have 3.7L of 72mg Nicotine.

The reason why I have not posted in over 2 years is that I thought ukvapers would be my home for everything. So I also created a forum for myself and others at MVR Forum.

I know you need tough love to get someone to do as you need them to do something, but as I have paranoid schizophrenia, it is hard to break my habit of smoking. I know that I can and should but it is the very first few days that I find the hardest to continue.

All I want to do is to keep posting about my vaping journey and have support by members stating keep it going or you are doing good. I cannot any longer get this from ukvapers as It takes forever to get a reply. And with me having endless threads there I am seen as a troll when I fall of the wagon.

I would like users here to egg me on and that is all I wanted in the first place.

You really are doing great! Most of all you haven't given up. As long as you return to vaping it'll catch one day. You may need to look at changing your vaping habits though because something isn't working. I wish you luck and say that I don't see you as a troll. You're trying to quit smoking and having a hard time. Even if anyone else calls you a troll I'll be willing to listen and I'll bet I'm not the only one. Keep working at it till it works!

    GET YOUR .... MOVING! :) I'm not a motivational speaker btw :)

From a mental health perspective I understand and can relate, it's often difficult to get going on anything, let alone an addiction. I'm sure you've had mixed feelings about life at times, but it's worth it to stop cigarettes and get on vaping. It will add literally years to your life that you currently don't have, life is precious, and I hope you can surround yourself with good people that help you understand that.

If you ever need a song to relax and relate to:
The artist is not standard Top 40 Pop music fare, but he's good. A lot of his songs help me through my tough times.

Call it happenstance but a few months ago while at some huge doctor's office with different practices in it, there was a dude sitting on the bench outside vaping, extremely fidgety. I ignored it at first, went in, came out and he was still there. I was like "you vape?" knowing full well he does because he is vaping, he made a quip back about something I was wearing, jokingly.

Him and I talked for 30 minutes or so (he was waiting for a cab), he was in the same mental health circumstances as yourself and explained that he was his own worst enemy. We talked about vaping, he wanted to quit cigarettes and just vape but he kept getting called back to cigarettes. In that moment I told him it was worth quitting and stick to vaping. We talked about life as well, mostly his, he was going through a lot of stuff. In that 30 minutes he went from fidgeting to calmly talking. At the end of the conversation he agreed to continue with vaping, he said "I guess I'll try and stick to vaping", which may seem passive to most but for someone with mental health issues sometimes even agreeing can be difficult.

I guess my point is, there will always be someone there, even if they are strangers, that do care about your health. Even if they don't remind you daily. Set yourself an alarm on your phone to remind you every day that pops up and tells you: "Vaping can preserve my life". Or any other words you need to stay motivated.

    VAPE ON! (That's an order... ;) )

Hi yah! The fact that you are trying is a feat in its self! You didn't give up despite bumps in your road! I am a dual user meaning I vape and smoke. There is a very populated thread here with lots of dual users if you want to check it out. That being said there have been times I've gone 9 months without a cig and then started back up. While I have mlt tanks I also have subohm tanks that I reduced the draw in and use 6mg or 12mg in. Vaping sometimes isn't as magical for everyone as it is for some. I never experienced that thing of, i vaped and never smoked again.

Someone mentioned net , they are more satisfying then other ejuices. I have used them when I was pregnant and they do satisfy cravings better even at lower MG. I also at times resort to 12mg with a higher vg in my crown with a built 1.2 ohm coil and i have a custom drip tip that reduces the draw for me.

I also use lollipops, tictacs and gum plus vaping when I'm quitting. It may take more than vaping for you to quit and that's OK.

Every puff off your vape is a cig not smoked and that's all that matters! Your perseverance is inspiring!

I don't think anyone would consider you a troll, but my husband has schizophrenia and I understand the urgency that sometimes accompanies it. So feel free to post!

i can say what has worked for me is WTA (whole tobacco alkaloids eliquid) and sometimes swedish snus. That isn't for everyone though, just me
It's clear that there are other psychoactive substances in tobacco/smoke than just nicotine; MAOIs amoung them. Vaping nicotine alone is an adequate substitute for for smoking for some people, but not for others.

It's well known that there's a strong correlation between smoking and certain mental health conditions, and the assumption has been that people who suffer from those conditions self-medicate by smoking. However I'm not sure anyone has really done studies to see whether such folks are smoking for the nicotine alone, or how much of a factor the other substances play. My guess is that it isn't just the nicotine that produces the desired effects; and it likely isn't any of the other substances alone either, but rather a combination of nicotine and other things found in tobacco.

Anecdote: A couple of months ago, I picked up an IQOS on a trip to Europe. After vaping for almost 5 years, it tastes like dirt, but I have one every once in a while, because I very much like the effect; it's soothing/calming in a way that plain nicotine and even WTA simply can't match.

I liked the Bellus. Nice tank. There are times it will feel overwhelming, especially when thinking of never smoking again. Set simple goals. I won't have a cigarette this morning. I won't have one today. Focus on the immediate. It's easier in small chunks than the worries of what happens if I slip up and smoke a year from now.

I would love to do MTL as this would closely mimic smoking.

So how would one kick back without coughing or should I just keep the vapour in my mouth and exhale through nose
That actually works well since you absorb the nic more through your mucus membranes than in your lungs like smoking.

The initial switching cough.. fun. It's a bit challenging, but can be alleviated somewhat with higher VG ejuices.. an 80% VG mix is best initially.

Also, for my husband he had to, not smoke, in order to get over the cough from vaping, for some reason doing both is very difficult on your throat and lungs.. my husband had to decide one or the other and power through the first couple days and then was fine. (I never dual used)

However in the meantime, try sucking on a throat lozenge while vaping, it helps soothe your throat..

Best of luck to you, I had a pretty easy transition from smoking to vaping because I could no longer afford to buy cigarettes so smoking wasn’t an option. Now that I could buy cigarettes I haven’t smoked in years so the temptation isn’t there. So my advice to you is quit your job, empty any bank accounts you have and remove any other source of income you may have so you can’t buy cigarettes, easy peazy, lol. I’m kidding of course but what I can offer, besides support, is what has helped me. I find music to be very therapeutic. The music I listened to when I was a young man and had life by the balls, no worries, and tons of fun. I put on some headphones to block out distractions and take some time to relax, listen to some good music, and reminisce about the good ole days. If you are having a tough go of it have some music on your phone or iPod with some playlists of music you enjoy. Pop the headphones on and take some me time to relax and adjust your attitude. It has done wonders for me and really helps to put me in a good, positive mood. I hope this helps and if you aren’t a big music fan just start a thread asking for suggestions for good music and I guarantee you will get plenty of suggestions from the good folks here, me included. Good luck and keep fighting the good fight. Gotta go the Bears are playing the Rams, GO BEARS!!!!!!!

There is a lot of negativity these days everywhere you turn (not this or any web site specifically), so just try to ignore the negative and keep up the good work. Thanks for posting and there is always someone willing to listen if you have difficulties.

Changed banner again and am now using my own Cosmic Scones from Darkstarvapour. It is a 80vg juice and am now finding that it does not give throat hit like Pg does. But it is a mellow vape and easier to inhale.

Now all I have to do now is to stay clear from smoking and continue to vape. I might stay up tonight and see how long I can go without.

Staying up will only increase your stress, go to sleep when you feel sleepy. Trick is to try to avoid smoking triggers.

Hey. I have a couple of decent vape set ups and only vape in the daytime but still crave tobacco in the late evenings as it relaxes me whereas vape stimulates me. I use IQOS. You get the full tobacco with all the MOAI's and nic and no smoke. You get that feeling of satisfaction but without feeling like you're dying / 20 years older than you really are etc.

It takes a week or two to adjust but then is great.

I'll NEVER smoke a cig again as long as I have this, even with beers. Cig smoke now makes me want to gag and vomit when I'm around it. The thought of smoking one makes me mentally, emotionally and physically disgusted.

Iqos is heated real tobacco minus most of the nasty effects of smoke, the pounding heart, the anxiety, wheezing, the cough, the phlegm and fatigue etc. I don't talk about it much on here as it's not really the lpace and IMHO if you can get by on just vape, then there's no reason to try IQOS and I feel personally vape is healthier. But I also know from 4 months of cig free experience that IQOS is much healthier than cigs (it's been 4 months and I feel like a new person) and could be a good step for those who cannot transition from cigs to vape like myself.

I use the yellow / gold HEETS but you might want the Amber ones (stronger flavour profile)

I'll never quit heated not burned tobacco and just vape but at least I know I'll never smoke again. If vape relaxed instead of stimulated me only, I could just vape, but alas it does not.

With IQOS you don't need super high nic content. It's about the same as a cig and kicks in and has the same effect, ie it hits quick and stays around too, so you don't need to chain hit them.

There are whole tobacco alkaloid e-liquids out there - but hard to get here in the UK - they might work for you and there are some cool people from other countries on here that have offered to mail me some... Just another idea. Peace and good luck.
