Thank you. I've received a replacement cart from mr puff, but I need to figure out what I did with the tubing. And we've got a bunch of family stuff taking up the weekend...niece's birthday party, other nieces's first communion, etc.

Still will get back to the mr puffer for a final analysis.

I've also just done a first impression review of the carlos juice box:

Interesting saga. Sounds like my girl, except she gave up trying it. No desire to fill/mess with carts or drip. We have an agreement that she's gonna give the JB a try but im gonna break it in nice and good then load it with 2mg juice, I can't wait for the next good juice feeding mod to break the surface though. Sounds like MP is on the right track, but the custom atty design is where it's at I believe. I can tolerate dripping fine, but its going to get old.

True to his word, Mr. Puff provided a replacement cartridge. The Mr. Puffer is quickly put back to its original condition, and vapes as well as it ever did.

Neighbor Joe, in the meanwhile, showed me how to quickly make my own replacement cart using the right sized drill bit. The nice thing is that the bottle, tubing (model airplane type) and 510 cart is easy to find and mod.

I'll wait a couple of more weeks for my final review so I can get something like an actual month of use before I post it.

Once that is done, I think I'm going to donate to a friend of mine on disability with bad asthma. Kind of like a pay it forward thing, except that I get tired of hearing him cough up a lung I'm around him. I'm contemplating doing this for other mods that I expect to receive for review in the next couple of weeks.

Mr. Puff is generously sending me a 901 version of the Mr. Puffer to put through its paces. Some betas are showing this a favorite over the 510.

I think I'm going to donate to a friend of mine on disability Does it count that my wife says I'm MENTALLY disabled? with bad asthma. Oh, I don't have asthma... I'm starting to think maybe I'm not the friend of which you speak....

Kind of like a pay it forward thing, except that I get tired of hearing him cough up a lung I'm around him. OK, AFAIK we've never been in the same state at the same time much less close enough to hear me cough.... I'm contemplating doing this for other mods that I expect to receive for review in the next couple of weeks. Very nice idea! I personally find it "unsavory" when people get a test unit and once done they sell it.

Ah a 901! That's my favorite atty! Of course I think you know that (though not the nature of my disablility nor my lack of asthma - weird!)

:p

On a serious note - Will your full review compare/contrast the MrP vs. the JB? That would be very helpful!

With the 901 on the way, I may double up on them for a final review. Certain points may compare and contrast features to the CJB. But it's not like the CJB is my benchmark to compare other mods against. You could also probably read my initial reviews of each mod and probably figure out the pros and cons of each.

But I am intending to do 'Vape Trek: The Next Generation' to compare my impressions of the 3rd gen pv's I've tried so far. However, like the seven year tv show, the voyages are seeming to never end, either: I'm expecting another mod by petercro, the 901 mp, and possibly two or three more.

And I think I'm going to donate the donated review units to some local smokers I know who want to quit smoking but can't afford to jump into vaping. If there's a mod that I have to have, I'll offer to buy it from the maker. That seems fair and balanced. I have no desire to be the next youtubecommercial and have five dozen mods sitting in a spare room of my house; pv's were meant to be used.

..or that's Ms. Puffer to you, buddy!

Not content with failing the Mikey/Mindy test, Mr. Puffer decided to try it again. I found this beauty on my doorstep...a pink 901 version of the Mr Puffer, or Ms. Puffer, if you will.

Mr. Puff confided to me in correspondence that his beta testers were enthusiastic about the 901 version of his mod, and I can see why. The vape and the flavor/taste on this version is hands down better than its 510 cousin. It's kind of hard to describe, but it's closer to juice box territory than the original.

Great size and design, nice vape and flavor without a learning curve (any noob should get the hang of it in under five minutes) at what should a very affordable price point (less than half the cost of a juice box).

Ladies and Gentlemen, we may have just discovered the Holy Grail of PV's. Or at least, a alternative recommendation to newcomers than the 510. I would feel confident referring this model to someone still smoking analogs for a dependable, affordable, maintenance free all day vape. If Mindy doesn't like this one, I'll use it myself, pink or not.

BTW, can anyone tell me why it's such a PITA to post pictures to the forum lately? The pink model is just so darned cute, but I can't upload my photos to the thread. Well, at least here's the photos on this image site below...

Met Mikey-sorry, Mindy-for dinner tonight at our favorite Mexican restaurant.

Sitting in the smoking section, after our meal she pulls out her ms. puffer (mindy puffer, whatever) and nothing else. No packs of analogs or a lighter.

I ask her about the mod. She replies that she likes the vape and can really taste the flavor of her favorite juice (kona coffee). Contentedly blowing out clouds of vape, she mentions that while she's not a fan of box mods, she finds the pink and silver color style to be acceptable; she may even take it and accessorize it further. So far, no malfunctions or juice leaks, and it's still in her purse. "We'll see if it holds up", she says, "but so far it's not bad." After offering me a vape or two, she motions for me to give it back to her. :) She further mentions that she loaned her favorite 510 kit to her sister to use while they're sitting with their mother in the hospital.

Those old enough to have seen the Life cereal commercial with the toddler Mikey may remember that the cereal passed the test when he quietly ate it. While we're into just the first spoonful or two so far, the odds are looking good for the 901 Ms. Puffer. Assuming I don't find it on the kitchen island in the next couple of weeks, Mr. Puff will have passed the test, and have won my gratitude in getting my wife to finally give up analogs.

So I take it the hypnotism didn't work? :)

Just got my puffer, out of the package, It looks good. I popped a battery in, switched it on to see if the LED would light up, and NOTHING! So I emailed about it and found out you must put the atty on first to get it to work. OK no biggie, just didn't know about that. Maybe instructions should be included?? I was able to fill and load the juice bottle with ease, and he included an extra bottle and some extra filler.

BEAUTIFUL vapor, I put my 510 carto with the cap removed, stuck the drip cartridge on top, and it is producing amazing, tasty vapor. I am very happy with it so far.

Very nice mod!

Well, unfortunately, my puffer is not working now. I have changed the batteries, and atomizers and nothing. No power. I am moving in just a few days, so I really don't have time to mess with returns so I guess I am stuck with it. I am not sure what happened, I have been very careful with it, maybe twisting the atomizer on and off messed something up?? not sure about why, but I am sure it does not work now. :(

upon further inspection, it appears the + wire at the atty connector has popped off, and is no longer making contact. I might be able to fix this later, but I have only had this for a few days, so I am a little disappointed. It has been sitting at my desk the entire time, with little activity.

Give Mr. Puff a shout after you make the move. He's a great guy, and I'm sure he'll make it right.

As a general rule, the complex and handmade 3rd gens are not quite as reliable as the best of the 2nds (my namesake wooden box being a possible exception), but they've improved a whole bunch in the few months that I've been messing with them. I have no doubt they will continue to improve as time goes on.

Hmmm, became less reliable yet have simultaneously 'improved a whole bunch' lol? Awaiting two from batch #3 myself; would be nice to have a little expansion on the above, e.g. what things are more likely to go awry with these ones? (Or maybe 'generations' are diff from 'batches?')

Meant the second generation PV's in what you quoted, i.e., silver bullet, screwdriver, ggts, etc.

1st gen pvs: 801, 901, rn4081, little vapers that look like e cigs
2nd gen pv: xhaler, screwdriver, and other mods that hook up a big freakin battery to a atty and cart.
3rd gen: pv that gets juice to the atty without dripping or using carts.

Whew, I'm glad you stopped by Clyde! That interpretation definitely never would have occurred to me in this case lol! :p
