Maybe I'm losing my mind with all of the recent events in my life (and catching a cold to boot), but I seem to be noticing something on my cherry reo.

Number one, it does extremely well on a full bottle. I don't think there's another 3rd gen that can say the same thing.

When doing this, it doesn't seem like you have to press the bottle much at all. This thing can quickly fill a room with thick, tasty vape.

But heres the other thing...when I start to get the burnt atty taste with a full bottle, it seems like I can take a very sharp quick inhale and the bottle doesn't need to be pushed. IE, it may not even need the bottle plunger for this mod to work.

I'll check with the other reonauts and see they find the same thing.

Wow, allergies keep you from vaping? Neat! They keep me from tasting what I'm vaping, but I vape anyway....

No silly goose.....i just vape peppermint at a lower strength...it does help my allergies believe it or not...i just cant use flavors that will make me cough more or sneeze..all that jazz.

I tried the full bottle on the Reo and you are right..it does self feed the juice in for a bit.....awesome...!

Ended up following Clumsy to the new juice supplier in California. Bought some peppermint along with some other flavors.

Cherry Reo is down. Tried changing batteries, messing with set screw and changing attys. It's been so crazy at work, I haven't been able to send reo an email until now. Swear to God, everyone seems to be losing their frakkin' minds lately.

I'm not stressing about reo; I'm sure it will be some simple macgruber fix with a paperclip or something. In the meanwhile, I've got my clyde2801, CJB (and this morning, maybe a gg afs v2) to keep me occupied.

The oak reo box has been given to my friend scott, a disability pensioner with COPD under my 'adopt a smoker' program. Scott, who joined ecf yesterday under another name, is tickled to death with reo 1.0.

Got a prompt response back from Reo, and guess what, the Reo has an on/off switch on the bottom!:rolleyes:

I'm in contact with him to see if I need to recalibrate the atty set screw that I was messing with in the meanwhile.

I was tempted to erase the above post to try to salvage my pride and dignity, but I figure full disclosure is the way to go.

Just checking in....

Been playing with some new toys lately, but the wooden boxes have been still hanging tough.

I've been confident enough about their durability and abilities to donate the two prototypes to some friends in need as part of what I call the 'adopt a smoker' program. There's now a small crew of Reonauts in Oklahoma City.

They're all reporting that they've been approached multiple times by the public asking about the mods.

Like every other trend* vaping has been a bit slow to catch on here in the heartland, and people who have never seen an e-cig before are almost mesmerized by this mod.

Once I spend a bit more time with the new kids, I'll be posting a comprehensive review comparing the reo to the CJB, AFS v2 All Mods, Petercro MkV and the Kaji mini wooden box. I want to make this based on extended use, which means I want to make sure I have at least a month with all of them.

I dropped mine on concrete off a ladder and it still worked, got a dent on the corner but I call that a battle wound.

Clyde, when you review them all you should do the, out the window onto the driveway test.
I work in a rough environment and that makes a difference to me.

That would take a level of dedication that was above and beyond.

Let me know how that works out, Clyde!

*cradles his Reo firmly* "I will never drop you Reo... never never never never"

I'm rough enough on my vapes in my normal usage of them. There are already some people on the modder's forum that call me the modbuster.

One of the decisions I made when people starting sending me units to review was that I would donate them to people in need. It's really for a number of reasons: 1) I don't want to be accused of bias or being paid off, 2) Wife won't let me fill up a room with them, 3) it's just the right thing to do. I try to give them to smokers with health problems and limited incomes who have a desire to try vaping. With the cherry reo and it's refinements, closer to the production model of the mod, clyde2801 had become just a bit superfluous.

I gave clyde2801 to a friend on disability with COPD who rolls own cigarettes. Heckuva nice guy, but his health is shot; he has coughing fits that make me wince to the point of crying.

He initially made me rethink the whole 'adopt a smoker' program, as I started to doubt the wisdom of giving brand new vapers advanced e-cig prototypes; I have a lot of empathy now for e-cig suppliers! But he's a bright guy and after Reo (God bless him) and me answering a LOT of questions and helping him through vaping basics and pointing him towards the new vapers section of this forum, he's finally got it down.

He's reporting that my namesake is hanging in there, and that he prefers the 801, too. ;) (I did say that he was a smart guy.) But the payoff, besides someone else to discuss vaping with in the real world, was when he remarked that he's naturally tapering off the analogs to the point that he can now lie down to sleep at night without having a coughing fit.

He's also saved and cobbled together enough to buy a production Reo, but has no plans to let go of his clyde2801. You'll probably start seeing him be very active on the boards very soon.

Clyde,

Good work, I have given a couple away also and watched as the analogs went away and stayed away.

Tell him to sit tight, there will be a more affordable version.. Not as pretty or nearly as big but made with all the right stuff that makes REO mods the best out there.

I know this because the prototype is vaping like a champ in my hands now!
Pictures and video coming up a later when I get home from work.
