Introducing a new ejuice Calculator - the juice Grinder.

grinder.jpg

juice Grinder takes the basic interface and facilities of eJuice Me Up, and builds upon them - eJuice Me Up users
will feel right at home.

I started Juice Grinder for myself to quicken some things up, then thought others might like it, and also because Breaktru didn't answer emails, didn't seem to want to add new features, etc. They say email us for suggestions then never respond. I also found a bug in the saving/opening where
it duplicates a number in the recipe - but that's neither here nor there.

It took me a good amount of time just to figure out the math (4 weeks), and a good amount of time to make this from
the ground up.

Improvements over eJuice Me Up include:

* You can save & open in Juice Grinder format, or eJuice Me Up format, so it's easy to share recipes with others who don't use Juice Grinder.
* "Quick Values", a quick way to insert common combinations of Nicotine and PG/VG amounts,
Target Nicotine, Target Amount, etc. without having to manually enter them.
* Print a Bottle Label using Avery Label stock sheets (requires MS Word be installed)
* 3 Print Modes: As a recipe card, As seen on Screen, and as a generic Text list
* Ability to add a name to a Recipe
* Ability to Load and Save Recipe Defaults (ex. Base amounts, etc.) on the fly
* Export to PDF, CSV, and Excel Worksheet (Excel export requires Excel be installed)
* Cut/Copy/Paste facilities
* Little knicknacks like Links to Helpful Articles and a quick Conversion Table (future will be converted to a calculator)

Planned for the future:

* Importing recipes from sites such as e-juice-recipes.com and 99Juices

This software is Free and will be updated and improved
Suggestions and Comments are welcome. For our users who are VB or .NET programmers as well, you are welcome to submit code
to include in the program (of course you get recognition).

It's your choice whether you want to use the regular eJuice Me Up or this improved version.

This is a preview release to fix any issues users may encounter. The final version will probably be released
in January.

You need Windows XP or later and .NET Framework 3.5
NOTE: There is a FALSE positive from ESET NOD32 about a Trojan. There is NO viruses. File check: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/...f7e8e58d47c289bdf420a413/analysis/1418233443/

You can download the installer at http://www.cfcsaz.com/personal/juicegrinder/download.htm

Enjoy!

Introducing a new eJuice Calculator - the Juice Grinder.

It's your choice whether you want to use the regular eJuice Me Up or this improved version.

I have tried and failed in installing the program.

The "ERROR" many programs have; is NOT removing the amount of nicotine from the base amount required, to determine the correct ratio of PG/VG.
Last time I checked "eJuice Me Up" the error remained. Isn't a matter of, if the amount is slight, it's improper mathematical equation.

I been ridiculed for expressing this point in the past and tired of pursuing the subject of stupid following stupid when a liquid program is created.

Good luck in your work.

Normal error within programs.

Correct Example:
“Base Nicotine”
50 mg.
30% PG
70% VG

“Desired e-Liquid”
16 mg. Nicotine
25% Propylene Glycol
75% Vegetable Glycerin
30 ml. Amount

Required Nicotine = 30 ml. / (50 mg. / 16 mg.) = 9.6 ml.
Contains: ( 50 mg. / 1000 mg.) * 9.6 ml. = .48 ml. of Nicotine
Contains: ( 9.6 ml. - .48 ml. ) * 30% PG = 2.736 ml. of PG
Contains: ( 9.6 ml. - .48 ml. ) * 70% VG = 6.384 ml. of VG

Required PG = ( 30 ml. - .48 ml. ) * 25% - 2.736 ml. = 4.644 ml. of PG
Required VG = ( 30 ml. - .48 ml.) * 75% - 6.384 ml. = 15.756 ml. of VG

"eJuice Me Up" method:

Required Nicotine = 30 ml. / (50 mg. / 16 mg.) = 9.6 ml.
Contains: 9.6 ml. * 30% PG = 2.88 ml. of PG
Contains: 9.6 ml. * 70% VG = 6.72 ml. of VG

Required PG = ( 30 ml. * 25% PG - 2.88 ml. ) = 4.62 ml. of PG
Required VG = ( 30 ml. * 75% VG - 6.72 ml. ) = 15.78 ml. of VG

Didn't retry the update. I revised my prior post due to being obnoxious in form. I find attention into detail in programming shouldn't be overlooked. Many on-line programs follow the same error listed above in determining the percentages of PG/VG in a mix. If the amount of error in question is minuscule within a program, it's only my view the program falls short of accurate.

In reference to anyone questioning mixing, accuracy isn’t as important as using repetitive mixing methods that gives you the mix you like.

Chrisf8675, make the program and consider it may be best to deviate from the layout of existing copyrighted programs.
I apologies for my venting which has become excessive in my years.

Strangebrew,
The program uses the same calculation method (and results) as eJuice Me Up.
I'll try and add a more "precise" calculation mode for those who want it (such as yourself), as your example helps me input the math to the program, but it will be down the road aways, as I said per our PM that I'm looking into some other problems and new features ATM.

I'm glad others are enjoying the program as I've gotten a few PMs, I figured the "quick set" boxes would be a good time saver.

Also of note I released an update that fixes some bugs (0.99.2)
Would anyone be interested in opening/saving to more formats or exporting to more formats?

I have been using the e-juice me up program for about 6 months, and it works good enough from me for the amount that I use it for, but the one thing that I don't like about it, is the 7 flavor lines. I have several recipes that use more flavors than 7, there is only 1 that I make that has that few of flavors. While I can still use the program, to figure out all the amounts that I need, more flavor lines would be a big plus for me. I have not tried this one yet, but there are some cool features that I like. :)

I like the "Juice Grinder" program you created. The layout being somewhat like "eJuiceMeUp", yet; you done better. I found the links for flavor recipes very interesting.
Precision Calculation Information states: "This method simply omits the PG and VG amounts....".
Better said would be: "This method simply omits the Nicotine within the Base from being converted into the ratios of PG and/or VG within the base."
Furthermore as stated; "... it is the method used by all other programs as well...".
Just because many folks didn't take the time to do the proper mathematical equations to begin with, doesn't make the "so called normally used programs" correct.

Version 1.0 is released - the program is complete.

grinderss.jpg

The install now requires .NET Framework 4.0 (It had a feature I needed) - that keeps compatibility with XP machines - it won't change again I promise.

In addition to all of the original features listed above, I've added more stuff
over the previews, but some of the major features appearing in 1.0:

* Can now open EZMix files as well.
* Ability to drag/drop a JG recipe onto the program and it will instantly open.
* Ability to specify individual Drops and Grams for each ingredient
* eJuice Mixing Cost Calculator
* Basic Graphing
* Multiple Other Misc. Calculators
* Basic Unit Converter
* Tiny Quick Calc in-program for those quick needed calculations
* Additions to Recipe like Star rating, Pop-out Bigger Notes, Recipe Name, etc.

and other little things.

For prior questions - Yes, there is a seperate version available for those who wish to use the program
on the go on Thumbdrives and Portable HDDs available now - it's on the download page.

Unfortuanently, I have to drop the future idea of importing from the web. After reviewing
things and how they interact, it will be too difficult to accomplish what I would like.
Sorry about that, but all ideas are entertained!

Paul - I probably changed the target to .NET 4 with .9.9.3...

Kas - I'll change it to 10 lines in the next update. Thanks!
Strangebrew - I'll change that text in the next update. Thanks!

I encourage you all to try it out - i'm sure you'll love it.

Added 3 additional flavor fields for large recipes for 10 total (requested)
Ingredient Charts now show labels for the item
Fixed small bug in flavor percentages
Fixed bug with recipe labels not resetting for New Recipe

Automatic Update Check between 15th and 31st of every month to keep users current
New File Format that uses XML and supports new & future features - .grindx - now is the default (Don't worry we won't be changing it again! It's changed 3 times and I'm sure its getting old to some including me ;-))
Batch Converter for converting older files to the new Format

If you are already running the program, click Help -> Check for Update, or goto the download page listed on the original post.
Enjoy!

Version 1.2 has been released!

Includes some great changes - This will probably be the last for awhile unless I get some feature requests or changes,
or I find bugs. Juice Grinder is also making some headway - it's now available on Download.com, FreewareFiles and Softpedia.

Here's the Changelog:

* Support for opening and saving eJuice Me Up 10 flavor version recipe files (see Notes in Help file)
* Added Batch eJuice Me Up to Juice Grinder Format Converter & Batch Juice Grinder old format to new format converter
* Improvements to Exporting - Exported Excel/Spreadsheet files no longer have extra useless sheets
* Improvements to Mixing Cost Calculator - now supports individual flavors and bigger chart option
* Added ability to Export to Excel 2007+ Format (.xlsx), OpenDocument Spreadsheet (.ods) format, and to HTML page (Web) format.
* Added Recent Files menu for users who open the same files usually
* Additional Links added to Info Menu
* Added Portable Menu for Portable Users who switch between Desktop and Portable versions - Import/Export Settings and Copy Recipe files back and forth.
* Added experimental support for Windows 8.1 Per-Monitor DPI scaling (Main Window only)
* General Bug Fixes & minor additions

Get the latest version here, or click Help -> Check for Updates if your running Juice Grinder already.

Sounds like great program, wish it would run on my Mac:drool:
Thanks hehe. Have you tried Parallels for Mac or Wine for Mac? I know there are several products that can run windows on mac (newer macs just use bootcamp)
