So you think 500 mesh is working better than 400 or 325?
I am using 70pg/30vg.
The 400 I'm using seems to be wicking fine.
Where is everyone buying the mesh and wire. I have bought all mine from eBay, but 500 is hard to find.
Any other suppliers out there? I'm hoping GV will get some soon.

just realized I didn't even answer your question mike. I really like 500 but It's all i've ever used. I'm still rather young in the forum and have been using ss mesh for about 3 months. Loving it

This mesh wicking is new for me in my 2+ years of vapping. But I must say it works well once you get it setup properly. The mesh prep is a simple operation. I believe just from my beginner experience an even glowing coil is a must and the rolling paper method is working great for me so far. I have went thru 2 tanks today, I do leave the fill plug in, seemed to airy to me with it out.

Nice video AG :D Your voice is so calming and everything is understandable. Thank you
Calming, in a go to sleep kind of way? ;)
Nice video and it shows yet another way thats even easier than the old way some of us became accustom to when the Genesis first came out.
Love progress .
I've played around with a lot of different ways. Some things definitely work better than others. I was looking for the easiest way to show a new person how to do it. This is the best I've come up with. Suggestions are always appreciated though. :)
Them eyes are beautiful <3 >,<
Haha! Aw shucks. :)

Mine came two days ago and the first time firing up popped the coil at the top pos post. No problem, made a new coil. Only the top coil glowed which is an indication that the mesh needed more oxidation.
When I took it a part I noticed the bottom silicone seal for the center post was ripped. It's pretty flimsy material. I am worried that the center post may short to the sides which are very close in distance. Not a good design.
Also I would advise to find replacement O-rings. They are very thin and flimsy also.
Note: I have 4 other RBA's besides this one.

Well i got frustrated, i took a working 400 wick and coil off and tried a 500 and after a couple days trying said screw it. I took a piece of peaches and cream yarn and threaded it straight down through my coil left a bit up top. Waited a while cause i twisted it really tight to get it to thread. Now vaping it and its almost, if not as good as, the mesh wick, i just cant crank up the voltage or chain vape it like crazy, shrug, not heavy chain vaper anyway.

So if your getting frustrated try this, i think you will like it. Anyone wanna buy some mesh? J/k im gonna try again later when i cool off.

I read someones post earlier that the finer meshes are suppossedly better for thicker juices. Can anyone confirm this? Seems like a thicker juice would do better with a more open mesh to me. I'll be trying some 500 when I get my Birkshire in but I was just curious of everyone elses experiences with different juices and mesh openings.

I'd help ya Wally, but the only mesh I have here is in my fly swatter and that seems to clog the holes pretty fast on a juicy fly so that must mean it wicks pretty good

Anything else I can help you with, feel free to ask :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

I'm not buying it yet... the older experts always stated to use a courser mesh for thicker liquids... these new folks coming in and saying the opposite hasn't convinced me yet. I could easily be wrong since all I've used so far is the 400 mesh that came with my DID clone, so I've got no experience to argue the point with... other than what I've read from others that have been using mesh for a long time that is.

I agree. From what I've read, a veteran (I don't remember where) said that a 200 to 300 mesh is better for thicker e-liquids, and 400 and above for thinner e-liquids. Now, if my memory was good enough, I'd remember where I saw that.

BJ43 has done experiments with mesh and wicking (capilliary action), and the higher the count, 500 and 635, the better the wicking. There should be so much mesh in the wick that there is no center hole. The more mesh you can get into the wick, the better wicking action you will get. He did a short video where he dropped a #500 wick into a cup of pure VG and we can watch the level ov VG drop as it rises up the wick. A few months ago someone decided that 325 and 400 were good for certain juices, well it's just not true. The higher the count the better the wicking.
I personally own all mesh from 200 up thru 500 and I dont use anything but the 500 anymore. It just rocks.
