Ok sounds like there is enough interest. I will order material now we should be able to have some made within the next week. Please let me know if there are any sizes that need to be accommodated other than 510/808 regular and xl.

I can't believe I might finally have a simple tool to make these cartos :)

Please count me in, you can see from my posts, I've asked for something like this since day 1 LOL. Not only will it allow people to make their own, I think it will also relieve the vendors from having to keep a constant supply as the feedback I've seen, the vendors would prefer customers to make their own, but those were mainly for the slit ones but at least this will give more time to focus on the tanks too.

One question I have is what will be the actual punch\spike or the material that will make the hole? Is it just going to be where we put in a nail, or is it going to be a specific built in SS spike and would it need replacing? Sorry, my OCD kicks in and I always think like a year down the line, replacements, etc. :)

I just hope you put the carto in, put it in the right position and then just hit the spike\punch top with a hammer or if it has a spring action, pull up on the spike and let go? I am all for the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) method ;)

Thanks Jonah for making this an option, I'll definitely keep my eye out so I do not miss out when these go on your site.

Ed,
What we are going to make is a jig that you put the carto in that has a alignment hole to put the punch in, it will come with a 1/16 machined punch that you tap with a hammer to make your hole. This should solve the problem I see of people using tools with cut off wheels and getting steel shavings and carbon dust in their cartos.

Sounds great, I assume the machined punches are going to be custom made, do you know if they will get dull or wear out and if a replacement punch could be bought?

Sorry for all the questions, very ignorant when it comes to these punch tools but appreciate the help and information :)

I think that I have a source for the punches off the shelf as it would be. You can sharpen them with a wheel if they get dull, but if used properly this is seldom needed and if you need replacements just let me know.

Sounds great....another couple of questions about the soon to be carto tanks. I've seen a couple SS come out already and it seems the word out is one is great, the other is good (sometimes). Will these have the option to be SS or AL or Delrin caps and will there be O-rings in the actual caps? Will there be both 2.5 and 5.0 ML tanks? Last question (for now ;)) are these going to be tested for leaks before going out or has prototypes already been made and tested?

Again sorry for the questions and in no way am I trying to say your design will leak but just figured I would ask and curious about all the options that will be available.

The Depth Charge will be stainless steel for the first round with O-rings inside the caps the same way I put them in the Torpedo. The ml size has yet to be checked. The prototype worked perfectly but was given to a friends wife. I won't send any out that I am not confident of the seals on, If it leaks and it is not a faulty carto send it back is what I say. I stand behind my tanks.

Sounds great and thanks again Jonah for the answers and helpful information.

The only reason I asked about the 2.5 ML is that I prefer the Boge or smaller cartos and hoping that there will be a smaller tank. I have no issue with getting the regular 5.0 DCT and just buying an extra smaller tube if possible :)

Again, thanks for the help and I'll try my best to wait patiently LOL Let us know if you put these on your site and have an option for an automatic notification email when they become available but I'll do my best to stalk this thread ;)

I will PM you when they are ready ED. I am going to ship them with your choice tube size and have the replacement tubes in both sizes in polycarbonate for $3 each or Pyrex for $11.

Awesome, and can't thank you enough. Was a price determined yet on the Depth Charge? Also, what is the difference with Pyrex vs. Polycarbonate...wait is Pyrex the Glass? Wow is that pretty tough material, you are the 1st vendor I've seen with Pyrex tanks. I'll probably get the jig, the Depth Tank with regular sized tube, then get an extra tube for 5 ML so I have the option for DC as I haven't tried them in tanks yet, just on their own.

Sorry to monopolize your thread...
