Is vaping nicotine juice addictive? I tried a little experiment

Since I was an ex smoker for over 4 years before vaping I was worried about becoming addicted to vaping. I have been vaping 12mg nicotine juice for the most part since May, vaping all together since March. I thought getting a little nicotine might help me keep my weight down (I know- my bad) so most of my juices are about 12mg nic.

Well I went 48 hours without vaping. I didn't suffer any withdrawl that I noticed. I missed vaping at night which is when I usually am tempted to snack and overeat. But missing it is not the same as addicted to the nicotine it provides.

I am not saying that vaping nic juices doesn't mean I am not absorbing nicotine. I am saying that the horrible withdrawl that I went through when I quit smoking just wasn't there. Probally all the horrible chemicals in the cigarettes that I was mostly addicted to then. Another thing I have noticed is that my resting heart rate has not increased since vaping. When I smoked I had a very fast heart rate.

All in all I am very happy about this.

Your expectations may be leading you to become disappointed. Keep vaping no matter what.

Then again, this also doesn't really fully answer the question of 'how' addictive nicotine is while vaping. In order to properly gauge these types of results (and I could be wrong), but I imagine it would have to be studied on someone who has never been subjected to the increased, altered version of nicotine (in a cigarette).
Here is the experience of one such never-smoker turned vaper...

If there is one thing we learn here, it is that everyone is different.
I don't see any reason why that couldn't be true for this subject as well.
:)

I believe I am someone who was never addicted to nicotine in the first place.

I smked on average about 5 cigarettes per day for 27 years, and never felt a physical craving for a cigarette...
And this was true no matter how long I went without one.

But I had VERY strong psychological cravings.

I could go all day without even thinking about a cigarette until I saw someone having one.
That usually triggered me to want one, and once I wanted one I pretty much had to have one no matter what.

I smoked 2+ packs a day. A psychological craving is easy to identify..it happens when I see someone smoking or I'm in a situation that is triggering...conversation with a bunch of smokers, driving in the car, after meals, etc.

Physical craving ( for me) is more like a burning feeling in my chest and body, feeling uncomfortable, jumpy, and unable to focus, and extreme irritability. With cigarettes, I would say I could go at most an hour without feeling that way.

I know for sure I am having physical cravings for nic from vaping, it just takes a little longer to appear. After grocery shopping for 2 hours the other day, I felt all the physical symptoms. I also carry nicotine lozenges for when I am unable to vape. I treat my PV like a cigarette as far as where I use it, and I definitely need to have the lozenges to keep me comfortable if the time is going to be 2 hours or more without a vape. I use 36mg liquid. I've used as low as 18mg, and I had cigarette cravings then. It's possible that TH was more of a contributing factor in my lack of satisfaction, but now I always use 36mg.

Yep I believe that you really get severe withdrawal from all of the other addictive chemicals in cigarettes. I think nicotine is easier to kick.

However, I seriously enjoy vaping. I would "miss" it too if I couldn't do it. Its whats called a "mental addiction". With analog cigs, its "physical addiction" as well.

Just my 2¢.

I am trying to give up vaping myself right now. There is some withdrawal, no doubt. I stopped and felt discomfort day 1 that was actually pretty intense by the end of day 2. I did have a few pulls off the pv last night. The withdrawal was nowhere near as intense as quitting analogs by any means, but still there. I have no doubt I will beat this too as I am not vaping often now, and I don't want to replace vaping with food stuffing (which had become the case)... when you can't see to pee you need to slow the food intake down haha
