It's 2028, what does vaping look like?

What, you think people will still be using tanks? o_O

Unless we all have our gubmint approved, tax stamped cartos ( available in 3 flavors and 2 sizes). A nice, giant step backwards thanks to the people that are "here to help".

I'd like to think in 10 years time, we'll have no only perfected the lightsaber but also managed to put an atty on the end of it. Just as merging the cell phone and the mp3 player was a good idea, so it mating vaping to the lightsaber. Kyber crystals last a long time (Not once in 8 movies have I seen a Jedi in the middle of a lightsaber fight watch his blade flicker and die and then yell out "@#$%! Time out! Hang on while I change my crystals") so they would make the perfect power source. Since we're all going to be carrying lightsabers anyways (Show me a guy who doesn't want to carry a lightsaber and I'll show you a guy I don't want to hang out with, he probably likes ice dancing anyways), having an atty attached to the non-business end just makes good sense. Oh sure, at first there will be some gruesome news stories going around the internet where some noobie knobs have accidently bored a hole through their craniums because they tried to vape off the wrong end. We here on ECF will point out the obvious end user error and the media will make it out like lightsaber vaping kills everyone. It will be proven untrue and then the safety systems will catch up and everyone will tell noobs not to use unregulated lightsabers.

How I imagine the next ten years progressing, I know what side I’ll be on...

Like the rest of Technology we're severely limited by battery technology, unless we progress with that I wouldn't expect too much moving forward.

Things I actually expect to see.

Refinement of Flavor VS Vapor.

Higher Quality/More Consistent Vapor production

Perhaps some experimentation with particle size.

A better understanding of the long term effects of vaping and at one point there will be two sides, IGAF make it safer sacrificing something and IDGAF as long as it's safer than smoking, at this point tech/vapers will split a bit on opinion kind of like how MTL vs DL can be now.

Finally, I foresee vapers demanding higher quality products (I know there is some now) people are just going to stop buying mods that are garbage, untested crap, there really isn't any innovation going on, sure color screens, more coils, higher watts but that's about as much innovation as the clock on my coffee machine or a TV in a fridge. The last real innovation in my eyes was Temperature Control and honestly that didn't go far enough, sure a lot of mods have it but without tweaks on most it doesn't work right/not very accurate.

I think for now, the real innovation is in juice, someone is going to have some sort of epiphany and we'll see something completely different than we have now and it will be great.

Vaping the way we do now is primitive. In 2028 The atomizer will be chip controlled to meter out a fine mist of juice on the temp controlled coil, like fuel injection on a car.

Just invent it and take my money.

I rather see this as the end game in some convoluted permutation including our diet. BA, BE, BT, BP and BG all seem to know better and reduce alternatives across the board. And of course they all want the B$.

Good luck. :)

By 2028 the smoking rate in England and the other educated countries of the world will have free fallen into the low single digits. American doctors, scientists, and legislators will become the laughing stock of the free world because they will still be trying to say, " we just don't know the long term effects", while they still spew disinformation, media slant pieces, antz more draconian laws to try to dissuade the tobacco addicts from using " non approved" products, which mysteriously keep showing up into the USSA.

without the USA bigger is always better market share, companies will develope reliable, sleek and effective products that just work, and work well. These will be freely available to purchase in the free world, and to those wealthy enough to travel to other lands...

It already was possible and it was reasonably priced (150-200€ for a mod+atty combo). The guys came from the car industry and were fuel injection specialists. That was 2 or so years ago.
Very cool, too bad it was ahead of it's time if it worked well.

That sounds about right. To make vaping go away they would have had to close it down everywhere, and that ship has sailed.

Products that just work sounds good. B$$$ will do their best to fix it so that what's available are products that are expensive and don't work very well, like NRT's, but at a global level they will fail eventually.

Some folks like to tinker. There's a lot of us on this board. But my guess is most vapers would love something they didn't have to put a lot of time and effort into making work. The tinkerers will go on tinkering just because, just like with cars or stereos or anything else.

If you are right about the smoking rate going through the floor I wonder what the long term effect of that will be. Vaping started as a way of getting off the cigs. If the supply of potential quitters dries up where will that leave vaping? Will it drive itself out of business? Will there eventually just be a dwindling clan of stubborn old ex-smokers at some point.

Keeping my vapes running takes less time & effort that I used to spend going to the store for smokes.

I also never have the "Oh cripes, I just opened the last pack from this carton" anxiety.
