Hi everyone,

Just posting here to report my success
I quit smoking completely 2 years and 5 months ago
around my birthday in May 2019, when my little niece asked me
“arent you going to stop smoking cigarettes soon?”.
It was probably my 5th attempt to quit using vaping.
I use a very easy setup of an iPower mod and a Melo 3 tank.
I can recommend those for anyone wishing an easy solution.
My first iPower mod lasted over 4 years of daily use before batteries were
worn out and I had to get the new model which is even better it seems.

My cousin died of lung cancer last month. He was a smoker, but had quit. He was
53 years old and its very tough for the family, he was a very good person and very loved.

I havnt been keeping up with the news and research about health risks from vaping.
Is it getting more accepted as harm reduction? My lungs feel way better than when I smoked, thats for sure.

Thank you for reading, and have a nice day - keep on being an awesome community
I'm sorry about your cousin, Noobjens. My dad and my uncle died from emphysema. I was on my way to join them in the graveyard until my friends clued me into vaping. I haven't had a cigarette in nearly 10 years. Bronchitis that made me sick every winter, cleared up within weeks of quitting cigarettes.

I wish I felt more optimistic about the acceptance of vaping for either smoking cessation or harm reduction. When people ask, I take the time to explain to them, that pg is the carrier liquid for asthma inhalers and other inhaled lung medications, that vegetable glycerin has many internal medicine applications, that nicotine when separated from burning plant matter and additives is just a mild stimulant like caffeine, that pharmaceutical grade liquid nicotine has shown promise in the cognitive diseases of old age and in IBS, that vaping is the only widely successful smoking cessation method ever known, that it is not marketed or sold to minor children.

The information is all I have to give, so I give it. It's what we all have to do. People will usually thank me, and say they feel more informed.

I wish you continued success and good health.

Thank you! I hope one day to be able to say I havent had a cigarette in 10 years too. And awesome information you give people asking, and its all true. I myself cant help feeling a little optimistic about the acceptance from the public, sooner or later there must be a shift in opinion, when it has been proven for enough time to be a safer alternative. Thats just me thinking.

On the positive side, in the UK Public Heaith England still says that Vaping is 95% safer than smoking and some Health Boards do give out vapes at their Smoking Cessation Clinics.

Prior to Covid the old style "wet" pubs allowed vaping in the public bars unlike those owned by the big chains.

In Scotland too Vaping is big - when I lived in the Scottish Borders each of the towns there had at least two well established well stocked vape shops.

Welcome back and I'm sorry for your loss too.

I had a tooth extracted and later a post put in for an implant. Both times I waited a day to let my mouth settle down then gingerly vaped a higher mg liquid for a few days. Once it healed, I went back to my usual routine with no problems.

Watch the vape laws in Denmark, they're changing - effective Apr 1, 2022 you will be limited to tobacco or menthol flavors only: Denmark Will Ban Flavors and Impose a Huge E-Liquid Tax

Off topic: I love Denmark. My sister lived in Copenhagen for a few years and I've been to Denmark twice (once on vacation and another time on business). I met many very nice people both times. My sister has been tracing the family tree, she found we have a bit of Danish in our mix, yeah! Best to you!

Thank you omg, so that was new to me about the flavours being banned. I guess Ill have to get used to vape menthol then or find a way around it. This is gonna suck.
Glad you love Denmark, I find its a nice place to live. I live in the town Silkeborg which has a lot of forest and lakes around it.
I attached a painting I did of one of the lakes.

I've been there! My sister had friends in Silkeborg. We'd been in Aarhus and stopped there on the way to Skagen. Another friend said we had to visit Skagen and he had an old fisherman's cottage we could stay at. We spent several days there and one day he ran into a friend of his, who invited us all to his house for an epic afternoon/evening. I actually managed to say 2 words in Danish that day but no one could remember what they were! I do remember tak for sidste. Work took me to Vejle - the office was in an old barn on a remote estate, surrounded by forest, looking out over the water. They had a cook come on site for lunch. I had a fabulous week there. Great memories!

Small world! Fun to read your experiences from this small country. I have been in Skagen a long time ago, I dont get out of my town very often. We have “hygge”, a special kind of Danish coziness. I have been to USA, New Jersey and New York. I remember it seemed like walking in a movie, so different from home, but I only met nice friendly people there.

You must have been very lucky in New York and New Jersey. Yes, it is very different from your home!

I was amazed by my sister's friends who said a friend of yours is a friend of mine and opened up their houses and hospitality to us (my mom was traveling with us too). While in Aarhus, we stayed at a friend's apartment, he said he spent most of his time at his girlfriend's place anyway so we had it to ourselves (complete with a refrigerator stocked with brown bread and butter!). The friends in Silkeborg said we had to stay with them for a few days as part of our holiday and we had a wonderful time, and then the other friend who let us use his cottage which turned out to be in the historic register (pictures of it were in a book about the area) and then his friend who invited us to his house. Plus all the other people we met along the way who were helpful to us in stores or friendly conversations as we watched the sunset over the ocean in Skagen, etc. It was a wonderful trip, we went to beautiful places, ate fantastic food, but it was the people that made it special. If I had a house there, I might make myself cozy too.

Sorry to side track your thread. Best of luck with the new regulations. At least you have some time to prepare and stock up, that's what we had to do here. My state did a flavor ban nearly 2 years ago, plus put a 70% tax on vaping hardware. Fortunately, I was ready. I make my own juice and haven't needed to buy much more than flavorings since then.

It is a fun sidetracking. Hearing about my area from the view of a foreigner. Glad you met so many friendly people. I live in the “ghetto” part of town which is really nice for being called a ghetto, its more of a joke to call it that. But its where a lot of immigrants live and its cheap. There is some racism also in Denmark, but its towards middle-eastern people, not americans I believe.

I will have to consider what to do when those regulations are enforced, I read the 10 mg juice bottles will double in price
