Have you tried the EVOD heads on your kanger protank? I am wondering if the answer is yes... if you get a less airy draw?

Airiness is subjective. If I switch back to a carto these days the carto seems stiff and hard to draw through. At first, the Kanger Protank seemed too easy on the draw. Then, the metal tip seemed cold to the touch and created a sensation of cold vapor. I've been going back and forth from the Protank to the Vivi Nova to the carto and now the differences are much smaller and less significant.
I still think that a good carto is a little better than the Protank or the Viv Nova (and is more compact), I still like the tanks for the amount of juice they hold. I find myself still carrying a 3ml bottle of juice in my pocket. With the tanks, it gets used much less when I'm away from home. That, and I find myself having to blow out the carto into a napkin after touching it up. Not so much with the tanks.

All I have ever used are the Vivi Novas, they have worked well for me. Seems the darker juices gunk the coil fairly fast and i usually feel the need to clean them every 1 or 2 tanks.

You can't go wrong with a Vivi Nova its a solid Vape and coils are easy to use.
The only bad thing about a Vivi Nova is you can't change the head without emptying the tank

I have used both. Loved the nova until I got iclear 30. Picked up a protank at vapfest and after getting a costumed to the airy draw I like the protank. Still use all three but don't think I'd get another vivi nova any time soon.
I dropped mine outside on a brick patio a couple of weeks ago. Have a battle scar on the Vamo and Protank, but both have been working like a champ since then.
It's a tough one. I have 1 protank, 1 iclear16, 3 mini vivi novas and 5 evods.

All in all, I'm still looking for the perfect vape. Nothing is as easy as lighting up. It's just dangerous using tobacco and I won't let myself go back and don't want to, in fact.
I keep telling myself that someone will develop the trouble free vaping method that is a good, repeatable vape that doesn't leak, doesn't irritate the throat, has somewhat adjustable draw, is the same from start to finish, tastes wonderful, and is easy to clean and maintain.
They are getting closer with the Vivi Nova and the Kanger. If I'm honest the SmokTech carto is one of the best for taste and ease of use. The rest are convenient and reusable, but not quite perfect. I like the tanks for high juice capacity and convenience. I still go back to the carto here and there for the ultimate flavor.
We've come a long way since the Joye 510 and its fiberfill material with a mesh wick. Those were a real pain.

Im about to do the same with my Protank. I want to like this tank, I really do, but the flavor on it sucks compared to my Stardusts.....yeah i know. I've swapped the heads, washed, burned, even tried using SS Mesh on a 2.2 ohm coil. Still the same crappy, bad flavor. Same juice in my stardusts/cutie tank taste so much better than the protank.
I must be the luckiest Vivi Nova user around. I don't get any leaks, dry hits or any of the other problems people are reporting. And my coils last a long time.

I own both a vivi nova and kanger protank. I love them both. To me, they are much different. The protank has a nice airy draw, whereas, the vivi nova has a nice tight draw. I set me nova up with a mini sphere glass tip. Once I did that, I found the sweet spot. I like them both. I run both on my vamo v2. I have found the protank has a cooler vapor because the coil is at the bottom of the tank. The nova is a bit warmer because the coil is at the top. I would reccommend both. The only downside to the protank is the top tip is one solid piece. You can't use other drip tips, but the tip that comes on the protank is nice. Nice shape, clean look. I have seen on other threads techniques others have used to tighten the draw on the protank. I decided to keep it as is, with mods because I have my nova that offers a tighter draw. Like I said, I enjoy both. You can re-wick and re-coil both atty's easily. In my opinion, these 2 tanks are the best clearomizers on the market right now, remember, this is my opinion. the vape only 3.5 bcc is very comparable to the kanger tanks haven't had any gurgling and works produces lots of vaper little cooler vape then the vivi novas i give a thumbs up especailly for the price i've rebuilt/rewicked mine just fine haven't tryed the protank yet but thinking of getting one soon asd i love the mt3 tanks to both just work pretty well
I have Vivi Novas and Protanks; Protank wins - by a landslide. I just upgraded my Protank. I put in a ss mesh wick, wrapped a 1.5 ohm coil, placed 2 1mm silica flavor wicks on top of the coil, slammed down the post and blammo! Flavorful billowy clouds of vapor. This is a worthy upgrade.
Just got in my Kanger Protank. I have been hooked on the Vivi nova up to now and think this could budge me off that love a bit. Only thing I don't like is you don't have the option for using different drip tips. But the tip is pretty good as is except for it being metal. Loads of vapor have been able to cut back my wattage by a volt and a half which is way cool. Great flavor. I've already had a peak in the head and I will be able to rebuild that easy with supplies I used on the Vivi. Will need to get some 2mm wicks though. I did not remove one of the 1mm wicks as a famous reviewer had said he did. It looks like it has a 2mm wick wrapped and (1 to 2) 1mm wicks layed on top. Easy to service. I'm going to wear out my vivi's and at that point switch over but I will keep my Protank in use. Until the next quantum leap in vaping. LOL. I give it a 4 out of a possible 5 because you can't change the tip. Love that it is a glass tank by the way.
I have both and vote protank for the easy rebuildable atty. I rebuilt mine this weekend (it didn't need it) just to do it and it was really simple and will save me money. I am gonna try to rebuild my nova atty too.
