I have created a coil resistance and size calculator for Microsoft Excel which is attached. Give it a try and let me know what you think. I am also working on an application to do the same.

It's really very simple, you enter info in the orange areas, and results are in red areas, no excel knowledge needed.

Thanks, this will be useful when I get my hands on some kanthal wire. Currently using 34ga nichrome that I twist and use to rebuild protank heads.

Fantastic, thank you! This saved me a lot of work.

Now if only I could find 33.2 gauge wire to produce the perfect coil. :)

nice work. here is the one I did a while back. not based on coil size other than re-creating the same size coil with different gauge kanthal and different wrap counts.

whatever works for each person. unfortunately android only covers 35% of cell phones in use atm. I havent owned a droid phone for quite a while so I havent had the pleasure of checking it out. None of these my own included are all that accurate but its a start to get you close. Distance between wraps and gauge are variables un-addressed.

I have the app, and I like your spreadsheet layout better. Sometimes, oldschool is the way to go. :D
