Beautiful Urq, just beautiful! This is just as much a collab piece by you and lorderos as it is by POC! Major props to lord for his work on the switch and posts, it all truly looks amazing! That ss top cap really pulls it all together. Great work guys!

Thanks :). I'm glad you like it, it's how I have mine setup too, it gives a stronger and longer lasting connection for the Kanthal so there is less rebuilding and more vaping :)

++ on what Pain said. I haven't taken the Kick out since I 1st out it in ... excellent performance. :toast:

interesting! i see you have a zenesis as do i, blu. have you tried kicking that? i ask because i have a zen and katana and feel their performance might be boosted by some power regulation.

do you multimeter the attys to get a sense of the ohms too? i suppose with variable wattage this might not be necessary, but somehow in my mind seems like one would end up popping some coils. do you do a 4/5 wrap of the coils?

patch - I wanted to Kick the Standard, but you would have to jam it in there pretty much, so I didn't go that far. I tried for about 10 mins to finesse it, but it was a no-go .... so I just traded that bad boy away yesterday. LOL

My Katana is pretty perfect for me at about 8.5 watts, a 5 wrap coil with 34g Kantal. I have no clue what resistance that is, but I love it.

thanks so much for the tip, bluswatch! yeah, it would not be the easiest to get the kick into a standard that's for sure. you would never be able to get it out, haha. wow, tell me you traded your standard for a ZAP or hellfire or something cool like that. it takes so much time to get your hands on a zen that i feel its hard to trade away.

patch - I traded it to Phi for his Z-atty-G .... I can Kick my GGTS.

Oh and so everyone knows - it was a straight HOH value for value trade. Folks jumped all over him when they didn't even know what was going on. Poor guy. :(

that GGTS sounds like a very satisfying set-up! awesome! something about these rare rebuildables and hybrids that bring out the piss and vinegar in folks i suppose, haha. to compound matters, i think the outrageous gouging and buy-mark up-sell a week later that has been pervasive to the classies lately has touched on some raw nerves.

i'm glad that you were able to get such a cool deal. a really nice guy contacted me via a WTB ad and sold me his standard for cost...very generous...after giving it a spin, i joked with him how i wish i could pluck the atty part off and throw it on my provari or darwin, haha. so i definitely understand the trade one hundred and twelve percent.

May I have the name of this new Hybrid Mod? Will it work well with a SS Mesh U Wick? Thanks! Awesome work here mates!

Not a katana but pocs work. My buddy made me ss cap for it and my awesome buddy lorderos hooked me up with his awesome lordified setup. It is a beast now as you can see. Fully polished now looking good and vaping madly

That's actually a Hybrid Mini, by POC! It was the first hybrid genesis atomizer that was comercially available for sale, though this one has had some CONSIDERABLE modifications done to it by Lorderos and Urquidez, which include the addition of a SS top cap (original is aluminum) and screw posts (original had silver stock posts if I'm not mistaken).

Yes, originally the Hybrid Mini had silver lead wires that you wrapped kanthal around and the top was marine grade aluminum. The one the UrquidezJ posted pics of has been modified significantly.

The silver wire has been replaced with M2 SS threaded rods and M2 nuts.

The sealing tubes have been replaced with heat shrink tubing and tiny o-rings.

The switch is no longer soldered to the positive lead, instead to make the switch easy to replace, it is attached to the positive post by a soldered on ring that I fabricated from some breadboard test leads to allow it to bolt onto the threaded rod inside the switch housing.

And

The top cap has been replaced with a SS top cap.

Just a little bit of a revamp :)

thanks blu for the tip - went over to the nhaler site and ordered a kick so we'll see...i am very excited! although genesis style stuff has great flavor and vapor, after cutting my teeth initially on variable voltage i don't respond too well to when the battery discharges, haha. i know it'll be a pain but still meditating on whether i should try to kick my zen standard.

do you guys have a v2, v3, or original? i see a v3 on the classies, but considering the cost of these badboys (i have a v2) i kinda don't think the slight revisions from the second to the third version are worth shelling out the dough. i watched scott and marco's reviews and the changes don't seem especially substantive, more cosmetic in nature. any opinions?

who knows? after kicking the device i might feel like it has some whole new mojo!

by the way, blu - funny to see you over on uk vapers last night. was trying to get on the list for a caravela, and when i check uk vapers today, the whole site is shut down!

patch - I love my Caravela, and have a UEFA Euro one coming!! Yay!!
Anyway, they are down, not sure for how long, but Kami and I are letting Pedro know if he needs contact help, we can hook him up. I love perusing the goodies on UK-V.

I am not sure if the changes, if any really noticable, between the V2 and V3 Katanas would make it worth buying another, unless you want back-up! LOL
Lorderos said they were basically the same, just 2 different runs ..... at least that is what I thought he was saying. I may be wrong on that.
On the V1s the threading, and a few other things ARE different, but I think they perform the same.

goodness, you said the magic word: 'backup.' i do not know what it is about vapers that make us need backup for our backups...watched the review by marcoseattle which may have enticed me to seek backup...sigh...the threads are smoother and the laser etched logo are larger, haha.
