Finally got it to work properly, after much banging of head on the desk and needless hair pulling. No hotspots, no metallic taste, but vapor production is not up there yet. I'm hoping it'll get better in the subsequent tank refills. I put in a kick in there too @ 8 watt-ish.

It's great when it works, but damn, it's the fiddliest device out of everything I own :(

For sure i want to try a kick in this pv. And Blu I agree its my go to Vape #1 PV I own. the only time I vape anything else is in the event of dead batteries or extensive cleaning.

I do think that if you get your Katana as close to stock as possible, you will find it runs alot better. Also the only hard mod I made to mine was I slighly opened up the cap hole a little ... I mean a LITTLE. its about the same size as the wick hole. This helped with vapor production.

I gotta admit, I don't take my Kat out of the house, but it's more a convenience thing.

I use a mini ProVari and trap tank when I go out. I can lay it down on my lap when I drive, don't worry too much about it, etc.
But definitely at night when I am relaxing, it's the Katana. :toast:
If only I could get a thread ring ... then I would be a happy girl. LOL

Woooohoooo finally after 3 days of non stop faffing and not letting the katana beat me I have it vaping as good as any other of my genesis mods/attys
In the end what worked for me was a 19mmX30mm wick wrapped tight in the middle and slackened off as it gets to the outer part, so chuffed I got there in the end

Next problem,
How do you secure the bottom button so it doesn't keep coming loose when it turns?

I put a little piece of an oring inside so when I tightened the screw to the preferred setting it would be held snug in there.

Curtis Congrats I am really glad you got it rollin!

Blu... I am workin on it. :)

Thanks alot buddy ;)
It was a pain to set up i'd say the most difficult genesis mod/atty I've had
To get goin

Mos def. I used an old o-ring from a glass drip tip set I bought. it came with extra rings and the one I wasn't using fit perfectly into the hole. Also I am running the magnet switch mod in combo with the spring. the spring keeps it strong on standing with the lock dis-engaged but the magnet somehow seems to help with the flow of current? without the magnet or the spring by themselves it just felt different and the spring holds the magnets from grinding on the screw.

Virginia is for vapers
Ah right mine just has the magnets in and i do find the switch to be a bit hit and miss so i'll have to see if I can get any springs anywhere to see if it improves it at all
I put in a cut off piece of spring from a cheap ball point pen. Works AWESOMELY!

is it tru the cinnamon flavors are not good to inhale? I know inhaling cinnamon in its raw for isn't really good.
I have yet to read anything to convince me it is harmful to vape it. Cinnamon is an irritant to your taste buds, like chili powder, which is why it has that Kick I love. I can only say I've used heavy cinnamon flavors for about three years with no adverse physical or mental effects....

just picked up a katana for a pal, having trouble with the fire switch though. i myself have a v1, v2, and v3, so i am pretty familiar with this device. seems as if when pressed the metal connector surrounded by the inner delrin ring does not go far enough to push the battery to make a solid and consistent connection. thinking that a tiny rare earth magnet might do the trick, but wondering if anyone has had this issue with the v3s?
