True that, I don't want to give too much away on the design yet either in case it's a complete failure. :)

I will make sure you guys get one if it works reliably and is feasible to reproduce. I'm thinking it's a long way off still in any case.

Lol I can't even get the first bloody genisis mod going, and even I'd sign up for that list if it ever comes to that.

You should do something opposite of katana, like "Butter Knife". ;)

great idea Loft I am going to try that.Lorderours If you can put me on the list I would love to try one of your inventions
Lord gives great advice. One modification I've made to my personal setup is - when lighting the juice on fire - I never let it burn itself out. I found that when I did this, I noticed the wick getting red hot. When this happens, it actually burns off anything that's been 'cooked' in place. So, I let it burn for a couple seconds and when I notice it starts to go out on it's own, I blow it out, let it sit for a second, redrip, light, repeat process for a total of five times.

This completely solved all wick shorting issues I had.

Ya just humor....not actually starting a list. Nor implying a list is being created. Didn't mean to get off topic rick. Does everyone have there genisis 101 books out? Please turn to page 38 and please keep up.

Ahahahahah, no worries boss!
As for the genesis 101 book, we really should put together a definitive generic genesis atomizer guide book with tutorials, configurations, tips, tricks, modifications, and even a home-brew section.

Hi all,

I have a question regarding using a kick in the Katana. I just can't seem to get it to fire consistently. I don't have any issues with it firing without the kick.
So far I've tried electrical tape on the kick body opposite side to the grounding coil.
Made a copper sheath to give the kick a snug fit in the katana tube body.
Fiddled around with the katana button screw.

The only thing I can think of is that the offset screw on the base of the tank is preventing a good contact for the top of the kick somehow. Either that or the kick is perhaps at fault. Measuring my current coil gives approx 1.6ohms so its within tolerance and definitely no shorting that I can see.

<Edit>
Ahah, think I've found the problem. A light sanding of both top and bottom contacts on the kick seems to have resolved it. Something so simple and to think I've been fiddling around for days trying to suss it... doh!

Hi MrGiggly i have the same Problem with my Katana V2.
Tried all i can do but does not fire all the times.
Tried the Kick into the GGTS and that works really good but on Katana it dont fires with the Kick.
Dont know what i can do now cause with normal 18650 it works good.

I have a little Question for the Future.
How can i put a new Tank on the Katana?
Dont wanna destroy it cause i dont know how to do that :)

best regards

Martin

Sure, no problem. They come off quite easily and go back on the same way they come off.

1. Make sure there is a battery in the Katana and the lock ring is engaged.

2. Remove the wick and coil and both of the electrode screws and washers and the tank shield. Set them aside.

3. Put the top cap back on and use it to pull the tank top off. Wiggle slightly as you pull, this will make it come off much easier.

4. Remove the tank and make sure the negative electrode is good and tight. This is the one that does not have the white insulator on it. DO NOT TURN THE ELECTRODE THAT HAS THE INSULATOR.

5. Check and replace o-rings if necessary and put the tank back onto the Katana body. It helps to lube the orings with juice.

6. Put the tank top back on and reassemble the coil/mesh.

7. Fill with juice and enjoy.

Thank you lorderos!
Thought i had to screw out the electrodes to get the top off from the tank.
Was not believing i can pull it out with electrodes installed.:)
I will make a picture of the (dont know the right word in english) Atomizer Chamber? tomorrow.
Have a little issue that 1 or 2 coils touch the washers and dont know how to fix that for now.
Also have a issue i heard from others too with the bottom screw.
When i lock the switch and unlock and so on the screw comes out 1 or 2 times a day and then i have to reassemble it.
No big things but for now dont know how to fix them.

Hope my english is good enough to understand me :)

best regards

Maybe i found something for my problem.
The smaller electrode stands out of the teflon 5mm or more.
On all pictures the electrode dont stand out of the teflon (only the screw and washer)
The Top screw does not go straight into the Top section it goes into the top with 30° angle to the large electrode.
Maybe someone before me tryed to pull the screw out or the electrodes or is this correct?
Pictures later (my iphone cant make sharp detail pictures)

best regards

Martin

edit:
Now the Top screw is almost straight to the top dont know why.
Just maked a new coil and now its straight.
Im still very unhappy with the switch tried the reserve screw but same issue.
Everey time i will lock the switch the screw comes out and i have the whole thing in my hand and have to reassemble it :(
Pictures will come when the battery of my camera is fully loaded.

edit2:
Now i have pictures.

If more pictures needed just say and i make some more.

Ianitor - I took a couple of pictures so you could see mine. I am not sure what you are saying about your posts/electrodes, but they look like mine - Tall Neg/- post, short Pos/+ post. I just use something small to get those little washers over to the side a bit if they are sticking towards the wick.
It looks like your coil might be a little loose or thick, maybe a tighter roll will give you a little more room between the posts.

Sorry if it looks messy, I am using it, LOL.

Thank you for your pictures BluSwatch!
What size of Mesh did you use?
I tried 30x40mm and 25x40mm width and length for now maybe i try 20x40 next time.
This damn switch screw makes me crazy! Third time this day i have my whole switch disassembled in my hand.
The screw is not tight enough into the hole from the Button :(
When i lock the Button everey time the screw comes out a little bit and after 4 times the screw is out and the switch into pieces.

best regards

Martin

I think mine was about 40mm long, and around 15mm wide, then I trim the top once it's all done. I wrapped the wick around a straightened out paperclip, and rolled and rolled .... LOL
I also put the paperclip back in the wick to wrap and anchor the Kanthal. When I tighten the post screws, it always wants to pull the wick over too close, so I hold it straight while I do that.

I hope some of this helps ... let us know how it goes! :)
