Wow nice coils, it may show that I'm just beginning with rebuildables, but how is that dual coil not shorting?

the the individual wraps are not touching only at the top and bottom even though you cant tell with my dirty coils :).

The dual coil serves two purposes for me. 1st it gives me ultra low resistance 2nd it allows the heat to be spread evenly across the whole wick. however battery life does diminish

Here is a pic on my dual coil setup however slightly dirty :)

I just made a new wick tonight 15mm x 45mm. With the full screw in place and oxidized from top to bottom it wicks like a banshee. It might just keep up with that dual coil setup you like. I wrap a single 1.3-1.5 ohm coil and it a single dry hit yet (intentionally chain vaping for this to see how long it will stay wicking this well) so far so good :)

That's the point of oxidizing the wick... It prevents the outside of the mesh from being conductive so that current has to flow through the entire wick.

I never even thought of trying dual coil like that, but it makes sense that you could just turn a second wire with the first and then make sure that they don't touch in between... you have to make sure that the single coils don't touch in much the same fashion, or current is going to 'skip' a coil.

You've got to use a little fine silver wire to extend the length a bit or you could just up the length of the resistance wire a bit would make for a bit more resistance but would work.

I tried using .2 kanthal a-1 at about an inch and a quarter which is about 1.5 ohms but, couldnt get a strong enough hit. When this coil dies i'll try again or another day or so whichever comes first. I was having an issue getting the wick to work properly at first now i realize it was alot of user error.

How many of you that own the katanas own or are planning to own a zenesis?

Or other rebuildables?

On the feb.waiting list for a zenesis.Swapped a spensive pv for a katana, also have a SCV3,waiting for g tank us.One of these days I'll figure out how to make a wick that works good enough to keep from getting the dreaded dry hit

I have a number of rebuildable attys and I love them all... SGV3, iAtty, G-Tank and Hybrid-Mini. All are modified from their original configurations and all of them work amazingly well. I plan on getting a Zenisis for a couple of reasons. It's made here in the USA, it's measurements are SAE so parts will be alot easier to source here (mostly talking about tanks ;)) and it's made of 316 LVM (surgical grade stainless).

I did a wee bit of research on the Zenesis, impressive  and ordered the Standard, a Mini and a Z-Atty-Pro. They're shiny shiny.gif
