just cant figure out how you get so much vapor. i use 325 SS mesh with 3/4 wrap of 32AWG kanthal, vaping 30/70vg and got no hotspots but nowhere near that amount of vapor. whats the secret? wrap coils tighter? only use a little bit of mesh? i dont get it.

There are a couple of things to try. For the wick, I use 15mm x 50mm so the wick's wall is only a a couple layers thick, but there's still enough to have some juice in reserve at the coil. Also, many of us drilled the air inlet hole a little bigger (I bored mine with a 1/16" bit). Another major factor is where the air hole is pointing. I have mine situated directly in front of the coil. You can change yours if it is not there by putting as thin of an oring as you can find on the threads where the cap goes on.

My newest Katana video, and the first video I've actually done some editing to! I wanna see if anyone can match the clouds this beast is pulling! Using 70/30 juice, 4 wraps of 32g Kanthal D, and the "Mac-Attack Tweak", so now my airhole has been bored out to a full 2.25mm. Tastiest vapor this thing has ever produced, and the absolute most vapor I've gotten from any other device (besides for Ody though...)

I am looking into getting a a 1/32 thick gasket or ring for the cap to perfect the airflow to the wick for mine so the cap is tight and hits perfect at that setting for me. As well I made my second wick and 6th coil today.. I had 4-5 wrap stylie for 2 days and wanted to kick it up to 3-4 and the bottom post wire snapped because some of my wire has unspooled and kinked in some spots so some of my coils will be doomed from the start but oh well. no use crying over a .09 cent atty dieing :)

Isn't it awesome how amazingly cheap it is to run a Genisis mod. :)

If you don't like the coil you can change it for next to nothing and if you make the hole in the cap too big you can just fill it in with JB Weld and drill the size you want :)

Very nice. I get clouds like that from mine too. I just realized that the hole in my cap is not much smaller than yours, I wasn't thinking before. The 1/16" hole in my cap is 4/64" so a 1/64" difference is pretty much nothing, lol. I didn't realize till I saw the hole in the video and said to myself, that looks just like mine minus the trippy tip. I worry I'd break it if I got one and that would be a crime.

Regularly I vape like I'm smoking an analog, direct inhale like that makes me feel a little bit like I'm choking, lol.

rwechsler 70pg30vg?? hmmm my hole has been gauged and I have a 3-4 wraps 32 kanthal and 70/30pg/vg mix. still not quite gettin the clouds I want yet.. I am still a rookie in the genesis area yet so i'm still learnsin.

Same here though buddy! I've only had the Katana for <2 weeks now! Just did as much research as possible before it arrived and have been chatting a lot with Mac about his setup, and now everything just clicks! Keep practicing, it gets easier as time goes on, and your clouds will keep getting bigger and bigger!

definitely shorting against the bottom of the tank

No immediate reason comes to mind why one couldn't put a rubber foot on the bottom of the wick... would probably have to take the tank cap off to remove the wick, but if it's anything like the hybrid mini, there's not much to it.

A challenge I see, bring it on Urq! I'm always looking for the hottest possible vape, but just when I think I've found it, my lungs toughen up to it and the search goes on! TH on Katana is good enough to satisfy my need for a hot coil, but I think the dc scub is really gna hit the spot!

Rick, how are you getting the Kick to ground properly? I put one in my Katana but needed a bit of metal to snug it up against the tube wall. It worked well for about 30 minutes until the battery/Kick/metal wiggled about and no more ground spring contact.

I am seeking a thin copper sheet I can cut, roll and slip into the Katana's tube to take up the extra space..... but until then????

what is the best way to "drill" the hole on the cap?

Does everyone do that themselves, or take it somewhere?

and sorry for the dumb question, but what size drill bit should I use if doing it myself?

1/16?

You should be able to drill it yourself, just make sure the cap is off the katana when you do it :)

1/16" should be sufficient. It makes the draw a little bit more airy than the Zenesis with that size hole, but it works very well.
