for the obvious, the coil with the larger diameter will be higher in resistance, besides that I would imagine that the coil with a smaller diameter will heat up slightly faster , be a tad bit warmer and may produce a little more TH. as for vapor production, that's a tough one because the diameters are kind of close , I just don't think there will be a noticeable difference in vapor production but if I had to guess, the lower resistance one maybe. flavor? also a tough question. from my experiments with micro coils my 16g needle diameter seems to be the best. I have done slightly wider coils and slightly narrower ones and the 1/16 size seems to have a better taste. but it may not be the diameter, it could be the temp or balance of the whole set-up. all in all it will be very close in comparison between both but I always prefer the lower resistance coils in all aspects

Well explained. I'm a cool vaper so perhaps I might like the larger coil more. But again, we're not talking about a huge difference here so it might not be noticeable. I can't go subohm on a regulated mod so I'm just trying to figure out the best coil set up. I know with 28 ga I'm going to have to go 2mm minimum. Anything less and I enter subohmland.

Thanks Diver.

I think you might want to experiment with a greater range of diameter. I'm playing with a near 3mm macro right now... perhaps that, and a 2mm or slightly sub 2mm would offer sufficient differentiation for you to choose a path to follow.

I mentioned this earlier but didn't post a pic. Has anyone seen their deck get crooked like this? It's been a crooked week for my kfl lol.

I really don't remember it looking like this out of the box.

I find it rotates just by turning the 510 center screw. Last time I played with it I used a wide pair of pliers to hold the positive contact deck straight while tightening the 510 center screw. I might be a bit crazy but I could swear the air draw was changing if I tightened the screw or loosened it.

I will likely do that. Much of the discussion on this thread of late has been about minimizing diameter. But I need to see what large diameter does for myself. Just so I can say I did it...at least. :)

Mine did that when I first got it.. I just move it back into place and it hasn't moved since.

You can fix that by removing the 510 center contact and going up inside with the largest screwdriver that fits the hole... loosening the air tube, then re-tightening with proper alignment.

Or, if you're curious, you can unscrew the base from the deck assembly. :)

Lord, I believe Kayfun has a company YouTube vid that shows the disassembly/assembly of that pedestal. SOF is right...that is fixable. Watch a vid if that makes you feel more confident.

I was just looking at Intaste for the LITE manual. I have it on my CPU, but can not find it at Intaste. It is required reading for all owners. It will tell you dry hits and good trouble shooting section. It also shows how the top coil hold down will move, when coiling device. It is common & has been addressed in this (short) thread. Also shows the break down of parts & names. I need to recoil my 1st Lite, its been 2 months now... No problems, i just think i am bored. Have a great day & enjoy the clouds.

What? Read an instruction manual? I'm a man. I don't read instruction manuals! :)

Actually, thanks for the lead. I'm sure it will be worthy reading.

yes like STATE mentioned its all about experimenting. I haven't tried as big of a coil like he so not really sure, but for me because I prefer lower resistances I haven't gone to large with my diameters. who knows if I get some 22g wire along with my dna-20 mod I might find that a 3mm diameter macro coil the bomb. anyways I do think the most popular set-up for the provari and 28g wire is on a 1/16 or 16g needle about 10 wraps for resistances of approximately 1.3ish. this set-up on the provari v-2 gives you the max wattage and amps allowed which is 15 watts and 3.5 amps.

Just because I can and the football game doesn't interest me, I rebuilt an EVOD head. 30ga, 8-9 wrap micro on 16ga needle. I threaded cotton yarn thru and then folded it back over the coil. It came in at 1.8Ω and vaping at 4.7v. This thing is blowing clouds of vapor and it takes the EVOD to a whole new level. Ntt and other EVOD/PT users check it out.

Now that I said that, Wash just made it interesting :D
