im talking about the coil above......perfect looking coil! everything about this coil is right, no pressure on the coil because the leads are connected to screw heads in the right spot ( I love coils that are resting without pressure) sometimes the wrong pressure tweeks a coil out of shape, this is a longish type coil so its at best rest on an angle. I like coils with no pressure because they are tighter, when they are tighter no wicking material comes through or in-between wraps (the entire cotton is inside coil, no strays) also the leads in this coil are cut off in the correct location(way around the sides of screw heads). also coil height is imo perfect and being at 10 wraps has great wick coverage. good job. oh where did the pic go? I was complimenting that pic of the twisted coil a few posts up, not sure why it wasn't included in this post, I thought I 'REPLIED TO POST" which usually gets included.

Thank you very much for all the kind words, sir.

I can honestly say that I always learn a lot from your posts, and I'm very grateful for all the suggestions I got from the more experienced members around here :toast:

Nice job twisting that wire. How hard is it to do that?

Thank you ricks.

Well, I find that the twisted wire is a bit more springy and can be a bit trickier to work with, but twisting was pretty straight forward. I misplaced the charger for my electric drill, which would be much better to use for twisting, and ended up using my dremel. Even at the lowest setting it twists a bit too fast and will normally snap the wire after one or two seconds. Sometimes attempts can fail miserably but it does work.

I do it as similar as I can to Alexander Mundy's method, but I don't have the same tools, and I'm not using flat wire. But I basically hold one end with pliers, leaving the weight of the pliers pull down on the wire, and the dremel does the rest. I use the attachment for cutting discs, remove the screw, insert the wires, spin as slow as possible, and with some luck it snaps near the attachment leaving nicely twisted wire somewhere along the remaining piece. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXpiMB-upRg

There are many ways to get nice twisted wires, some folks even do it on manual drills, or by hand with lots of patience :p

I'm probably the least qualified to try to explain it to someone, but I'm sure you will have it figured out in no time with all the info around these parts. I hope this helps a bit.

Love that wire, except it takes too many wraps to reach my preferred 1.3 ohms. :(

That aside, I love twisted wires on the kayfun. Used to refuse to believe it makes a difference, but it really does.

Plus they look extra prettehhhh

ETA: btw sunnata, you're right about the twisted wires being extra springy. But torching the hell out of them prior to coiling makes it dead easy after :)

exactly! that is a must for me. I use that so much I forget to take it off and find myself walking around the house with it. seriously, its the first thing I do (put it on) before doing anything vapor related.

Just got one yesterday. This is a "must have" item for me.

The 4 strings fit perfectly in this 2mm coil. Its working great so far.

I use a doubled over piece of kanthal as a fish tape to feed the silica through the coil. I have to hang my fingernail over the edge of the coil to keep it from pulling off the Kayfun. It's a pretty tight fit but not enough to pinch off the wicking action.

I bought a Kayfun about two weeks ago. I love it, its made me a fan of cotton wicks.

There is one issue… I've always read (and the guy at the store even said) that the KFL takes regular 510 drip tips. None of mine fit. They're all SS or other various metal, but only the stock drip tip works. It looks like they'd fit, but they're obviously a few mm too large in diameter. We haven't even come close to the o-ring yet.

I swear, I read on here once, that there was a press-in piece for the KFL that widens that base so you can use your tips. Different than the threaded version for the 3.1, as this had no threads and just popped in.

Does something like that exist? I would really like it, I kinda hate this stock tip because it is so thin. Or what else can I do?

It depends which version of the Kayfun you have. Originally, it only fit their proprietary tip. They later changed it to accept any standard 510 drip tip.

Never heard of a press in sleeve... What kayfun do you own? You could always get a new top cap. Like this one Kayfun series NOVA TOP CAP | Vape Nation or even this one $6.61 Custom Top Cap Kayfun Kit at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
I know both these fit standard 510 drip tips.

My Pulse G driptips fit my Kayfun. I haven't tried anything else yet.

It is a Kayfun Lite clone that I bought from a B&M here in Kansas.
Came in a generic white box, obviously fake authentic packaging with the SvoeMesto logo and a quote saying "The Difference."

The guy at the store showed me several plastic tips that would jam in there, but none of their metal tips fit.

It's a great tank otherwise. I was very pleased with it's airflow after reading countless reports of clones with super tight air holes. If I can just get some good tips for it, it'll be a real crown jewel.

I can't speak as to the Clones. I only buy originals. It's my way of rewarding them for creating such a great product for us.
