So... after 5+ years of vaping and using 801 fusions for the past 3 years... I finally took the plunge and got a kayfun lite... the newest one at my local B+M the other day - and I LOVE IT! It really changes my whole vaping experience...

So, I bought another one yesterday at Vaperev's sale for about $30 less than at my B+M...

Does anyone own a zillion of these things?

I am looking forward to reading though these posts and learning some tweaks and tricks.

Welcome to the club, brother! :)

I have 5 myself. 4 KFL's and 1 Plus V2.

There's no going back now, you realize that right?!

Not the mod but you can use the clips to hold the coil together while you torch it. Or one hold the deck by the 510 pin and another the coil in place.
Might need a little creativity but I find the clips to be string enough to be pretty useful when I have access to all my tools.

I keep working with it, trying to find a way to use those clips, but so far I'm still having to hold it in one hand while I work on it with the other. At least now I can see it better! One problem is getting the clips into position under the magnifier, so that the X-tra (6x I think) magnifying spot can be used, and so far the only way I can use that 6x magnifying spot is by holding something right under it -- and that 6x magnifier is the only way I can see the coil well enough to be able to count the wraps to make sure I've done it properly -- counting the half-wraps on each side. What I really need is some kind of actual vise, independent of the magnifier, so I can stage the vise where I want it, beneath the magnifier. My husband keeps whining about needing a vise too, so maybe that's in our future.

Two Russian 91% clones in three days....
Now looking for the next one..... or maybe a nano kit....

Downside is I now have to rethink alot of my DIY juices %'s and nic levels, but I can live with that !

Anyways..............

I didn't have to change my nic levels when I got the KFL+, but I did have to decrease PG pretty substantially; I was using 85%PG/15%VG so I could get sufficient TH from a kanger tank, but with the kfl+ I've gone down to 67%PG/33%VG, and still have amazing flavor and TH. I love my tobeco clone "kayfun lite plus" so I ordered a 2nd, but this time a clone of the russian 91%. Should be pretty similar but I'm interested to see what differences there may be.

I work with those third hands allot in my lab doing allot of soldering. I've gotten good at using just my hands though for the attys.
I found with soldering if I set up the board I'm working on in the clips and then move the magnifier; it works allot better than putting the magnifier where I want then moving the clips.
You can tighten up the clips to hold everything still with the lite wing nuts where they articulate; them, put the glass where it's most useful to you.

A little vise wouldn't be a bad idea but if you look back someone posted an atty stand- the work great! You can screw the atty into this base to hold it still. Maybe try one of those with the magnifier.

I don't know exactly about the center pin issue; there is a thread on here about it. I know it was spring loaded and would cause some sort of failure.
But I seriously think you're having a wicking issue.
I would try pulling the coil away from the deck and let the wick fall to the side of the chamber. Sounds too much like a blockage issue and the only thing that can block airflow is the wick
Try and set your coil about as high as mine is in the pic.

thats one of the highest I have seen, a little higher and that baby touching the chimney top.

I've tried tweezers... I've tried hemostats... I've tried needle-nose pliers. The problem isn't really the tool, the problem is my shaking hands and faulty depth perception (and extremely poor up-close vision, even with reading glasses and a helping-hands magnifier). I think I just need to get something I can hold the coil with, WHILE it's firing, as that's the only way I'm going to be able to get there in time to make the wire do anything before it cools again.

But oh well.. the coils work, even if they're not pretty. Guess I should be grateful and not worry about aesthetics. And I've found a shop online that has the ceramic tip tweezers for $14, which is by far the best price I've seen.

andria have you tried the magnifying visor thingy? I have tried the lamp, kit with alligator clips thingy but the visor to me works great. from harbor freight like 8 bucks.

Andria, they sell ceramic tweezers that you could use to hold the coil together while firing it. Just Google ceramic tweezers. I've seen them mentioned somewhere in the forums before.

Not to be negative, but the nano kit just wasn't for me. I think I just got spoiled to a large capacity so having to re-fill it all the time was a pain. I used it a few times, but it's been in the drawer for weeks now.

That's certainly a consideration, no doubt about it, but I think I would have dealt with it ok, if I could just get any kind of decent taste out of it. One hit, maybe two, then third hit - burnt - everytime. No idea. At this point I'm wondering if it's just such a cheap clone of a nano kit that it's just not functioning correctly at all -- the dead giveaway to me that it's just an el cheapo clone is that the small o-ring in the top cap *always* stays stuck to the tiny chimney post when I remove the top cap, whereas it *never* does that with the full-sized chimney it came with originally -- a tobeco, and a pretty decently made clone. So maybe if I got a "name brand" real kayfun nano, it would work right. But I'm like you, the capacity is so small, not really sure it's worth all that.

Yeah most of the ones that pop up with that, are ungodly expensive. But I found them at VaporDNA for $14.99, so those are the ones I'm gonna get. :thumb:

Not sure it would work, since I wear the reading glasses pretty much all the time -- a weaker pair most of the time, and a much stronger pair when I'm doing this micro-tiny-gizmos vaping stuff.

I only use 2 liquids so I only need 3 Kayfuns.

im one of those who vapes like 5 different flavors in a day. if i just vaped 2 i would be burnt out on those pretty fast. even vaping the 5 flavors im constantly looking and buying new flavors, i just cant find that one juice thats awesome. even those 5 flavors that im vaping now, in a month i probably wont like those. its weird because when i was a smoker i was freaking happy with one flavor. i must have well over 100 juices in my vape cabinet, and thats not counting the ones i threw out in the past 2 years or so. still looking though!

with those you really don't need glasses, its kind of like a pair of binoculars. i do however sometimes wear my readers with it, there is mega room, they just flip down over your readers and when you don't want to magnify you just flip up the visor. im blind as a bat believe me but these are a must for me, i could not do a single coil with just my readers alone.

Yeah, tell me about it! Me likewise ~ I have at least 10 juices running concurrently ~ and 18 top-class Attys ;)
