EHPro KFL+ v2, and hcigar 3.1.. Getting close to selling. Stoopid thing was doing good.. Got a full tank that tasted good, refilled, got about half way and then in one puff went 'burnt' again.

And guys, I'm not trying to be hard on the KF's, I do love the ease of building, but I just dont have the time ATM to be playing around for hours trying to get the 'right' build or worry that it will go 'burnt' half way through my trip.. Wife was just diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, and I dont really have time to play... So forgive the frustrations.
Will definitely keep her in my thoughts, good luck with that.

My father had pancreatic cancer. I understand. And I'm guessing we all sorta figured you were the one in the picture.

Best to you and your wife. :)

Be strong for your wife.....

I also thought all the posts were from a female....was like--wow she really is really mechanically inclined....:toast:...either way it's all about consistancy in the build...love my KFL+ V2's (authentic) as I have most of the time had the right amount of cotton and wire to get wet vapes with a few dry hits mixed in....

Frustrations come with vaping. It's an unfortunate side effect. I did notice I spend less time on the heavy bag now- coincidence? Lol

Another good smaller rebuilt would be the smoktech tumbler- looks like a POS; but, I've tried getting my wife to use everything else under the sun and she swears by those, easier than any other tank too. To be honest, the flavor out of them isn't half bad, I thought it was a little better than the aero, unfair comparison though because it was a different juice:
Sorry to hear about your wife, I'll be keeping you, your wife and your family in my prayers. I couldn't imagine.

It's not having surgeon hands buddy, its enjoying something you like and being able to share that like. I honestly enjoy building attys and because i like it, i do it alot. If you do things in repetition you will know a little more which then can be passed along. I do this to help, period.

You know diver, not sure about you, but I've been able to take some rough looking wraps, especially after a few cold ones, and turn them into
Beautiful coils. Took a while to get it down, mind you. But nothing a good pair of jewelers tools couldn't fix.
God knows I don't have surgeons hands either I have big fat nasty mechanics looking hands.

Compared to my hands it takes a bit of surgery that's all I'm saying, as the gentleman without much time also reverberated these aren't easy to build to some fraction/percentage of the population.

Although I will say I'm getting quicker and better each time. But for some there is no time for that initial investment of time to get over the hump so to speak.

Chasing that last 1%. :)

Good for you though Diver. This is just as much a hobby as it is a habit or substitute for smoking. The hobby part is what helps advance the performance of our gear. To be sure!
I do vape because it's a habit. I excess build for knowledge just to help. The rebuilding I do enjoy, but what is way better, is the hope that one little bit of advise I may have given, has stopped someone from going back to cigs. That is the real passion for me

I guess sometimes it's not so easy to relate with folks who continue to struggle with builds. I've been doing them for so long I can stand on my head and do them with one hand while sleeping. Once a person gets a few good coils under their belt they look back and say, "What was so hard about that?" While I admit I am mechanically inclined, I do feel anyone can learn how to build a Kayfun with proper instruction. I just made a microcoil build pictorial the other day. It's just a very simple microcoil and I believe anyone can do it. yes, even ladies!

The coils arnt the problem for most people it's the damn wicking... I swear if I don't get it just right I end up with dry hits after 3 or 4 pulls on a Kayfun/Russian.... I'm thinking I need to use less wraps or make my coil a smaller diameter instead of 2.4mm maybe 1.5mm I had no issues with wicking when I used smaller coils

My big thing with trying to help people is the fact that; well, I didn't know about ECF and no one helped me when I was first starting and transitioning from one thing to another. I navigated the plethora of gear and junk and good stuff until I found what worked and what I liked. If i can save someone from all of the
Crap I bought and mistakes I made i want to.

May want to try rayon or try 2mm coil with the cotton.
Also after it's closed up and filled cover the air hole and blow into the drip tip 3 or 4 times, instead of primer puffs- this tend to get the whole vacuum pressure thingy started.

You could post that pictorial on one of the file sharing sites? I would love to see it. The advice given in this thread has been invaluable for me. My latest build is my best and the one before that was the best, so I'm making progress thanks to this thread. I really recommend beginners use 28 Kanthal instead of 30. And don't over pak the coil run it back and forth to make sure the wick isn't hard packed. Those were my biggest mistakes, I'm sure there will be more. This is the kind of work that takes a bit of talent. Many people are all thumbs or have shaky hands or can't see that close. That's why I say the aerotank is the next best thing and a decent choice for them.

Another tip- don't torch or heat the metal at all before you wrap the coil. I made that mistake and went through 25 ft of kanthan before I figured it out.
Wrap it the best you can then mount it. Then remove the wrapping tool and grab your players. Heat it till it's red and leave it red for 5-6 seconds then as soon as you remover the fire button squeeze it together and hold it while it cools. Repeat that process 3 or 4 times. Makes a good tight coil. I noticed too I her better results wetting the wick and trimming it one more time to make sure it's on the floor of the decl, then reassemble

Here's the pictorial. Diver's done some vids too. There are vids all over UTube. It can get overwhelming though. The pictorial is a simple, standard kayfun coil.

See, funny thing is, I dont get 'dry hits' or flooding. This thing has never leaked. I just dont get it.. I'll build it, vape for a bit, then WHAM!, burnt. This is on regulated or unregulated mods.. 6w to 12w.. doesnt matter.
