A much easier method than the figure 8 is a 3 fold that looks like an 'S'.. Wrap it, attach it, and pull on the legs to get the loops the right size..

i would agree with that. i have now settled on this build method after trying multiple styles over the last few weeks. once i coil the 3 wrap i pull the wick ends so they sit *just* above the juice chanels! it sucks up a ton of juice this way, never a dry hit! lately i've been using 2mm ekowool with a 4/5 wrap of 30g kanthal.

Any faults that you can see? I've got the coil as close to the air hole as I can get it without touching.

I agree. Much easier build than Figure 8, for silica and Ekowool. I set it up with the coil and wick perpendicular to the connection screws. Pull the wick on each side until the loops just touch the ledge. I put this build in one of mine yesterday. It had a micro coil and a cotton wick. I was just going to change the wick; but decided to just change the whole build while I had it apart.

I tried Puild 2/3 times, didn't like it, and gave most of it away..... tried it 3 weeks latter, loved it, vape for 2 1/2 weeks straight, then got burnt on it and can't vape it anymore.

I waited so long to get some and when I finally vaped it, I thought it was awful. im pretty sure I wouldn't of liked it at any time, not then, not the next week, not now. I am however, liking grants vanilla custard. got some last week and it is one of my all dayers

from what I see it looks pretty good although I cannot see how far down the tails are or a close up of the coil itself. I do think its a winner. I have tried the coil far down like your describing but settled on it a little higher, I think im pretty close to the height of jaynoles below, actually maybe a smiddgen lower then that, but not much

The tails are right at the base of the channels. The tails aren't bunched up at all; I cut them perfectly even so when I push them down they just touch the base. I didn't take a side shot of the coil before I wick'd it, but I gauged it by sticking the standard end of an eyeglass screwdriver under it.

Btw, I'm certain it was your vid I watched to grasp the idea behind the micro/cotton build.

I've tried the coils very close to the airhole and didn't like it. It made the draw stuffy and got some harshness.

I like my klite micro coils above the screwheads like jaynole. No interference with airflow and great flavor.

What gauge wire are you using? Can't quite make out the coils. In the first pic it looks like some overlapping coils. I'm gonna guess it's 32 kanthal at 1.5 ohms.

Love, love, love my Roller!!!

I got Shockwaved but I do have an ELA on the way = --------> Wait, wait, wait...

"Wait" is the key word when it comes to the ELA. #15462 here, so mine is coming up for delivery in the next few weeks. Its gonna look so sweet when paired with my KFL.

Anyone here wrap a sub ohm coil on the KFL? I did a 3/4 28g wrap on a 2 loop 2mm ekowool = 0.6ohms. Getting a slight burning taste but I just filled it. I'm thinking maybethe KFL can't wick fast enough? I read on another forum that the KFL handles a 0.6 coil just fine. I'll let it sit for a bit and see if it gets better. Might just go back to a 1ohm micro coil!

1.5 - 1.7 ohm with micro coil seems to work awesome for me, 30g 9 wraps around toothpick with 2mm ekowool. have yet to try cotton but may give it ago on my 2nd kayfun soon

My last coil metered at 1ohm (not a micro) and it was good but not enough VP for me. I may try an 8 wrap micro with 28g soon. I just need to find a larger thing to wrap it on so I can use some ekowool! On my 5/64" drill bit, I can only get a single 2mm silica in there. Might need to try cotton.
