Man, I'm seeing some pretty fancy wick setups on this thread. Some of these need coal-fired plants to power them up. I have used both 3/4 wraps with 32ga around a doubled up cotton strand and also a micro coil using 30ga around a few strands of thin silica and both hit like freight trains. Never a dry hit, never flooding, incredible taste/feel. Are all these fancy options really necessary or is it one of those testosterone things where we want to see if it can be done?

Well, it is fun to mess with it. But I don't think there is a bad way to wick these things. At least that is what I have been finding.
Donnah, You may be on to something, I will definitely give it a try later today. I think that's one of the things I was consistent about - keeping the wick away from the channel per the advice here. I did have one tank that wicked fine which would not make sense if there was a hard fault.
I wonder about another possible reason for dry hits. does the kayfun devices work better vertical? I know a lot of these people here, including myself pretty much learned rebuildables with genesis devices which require tilting. when I purchased my lite I also bought one of those swivel drip tips because I thought the kayfun devices really don't need tilting, these swivel tips make it easy to vape more or less in a vertical position. so to be honest I don't know how the k-lite performs if tilted like a genny. is it possible if tilted to a position where the juice doesn't flood one side of the chamber or it doesn't matter because of the pressure? I really don't know.
I have one of those swivel drip tips too. So I tried it. I didn't see any difference in the vape, from whatever natural geny tilt I do. But I just didn't like vaping that way. I felt like I should be playing in a jug band.
The Kayfun acts like a bottom coil. The juice feeds from the bottom. This is unlike a Genny where the juice has to wick up the height of the device. No tilting required with a Kayfun and just one more reason why it blows Genesis out of the water.
For the record (if you were referring to my post) I said bottom coil, not bottom feeder. Two entirely different things.
