I've got a ton of 400 mesh and was thinking of doing this same style wrap but.... Roll twice and oxidize around a 16g BTN, unrole lightly and set in my cotton and roll it up  So this way the mesh will have the cotton wicking through it as the chambers fill? But I'm still reading up on different ways to build my KF Lite before actual operation... And I'm awaiting delivery of my Caravela and TRV Hybrid Adapter :)
Some extra pics under the hood. This morning I decided to re-wick it to try my Boba's after 1 week of steeping and took some extra pics of the guts under the hood and how I set the wick on it, pictures are pretty self explanatory:

Solid mesh wick, no hole through the middle:

Mesh length and wraps firing:

Coil height reference:

Piece of cotton rolled and folded over in half around the tips of the wick (this piece was to big, I removed some cotton from this roll for the next pic:

Wick laid on the deck and cut to size:

Wicks pointed upwards to put the chamber on (couldn't really put the chamber on succesfuly without messing up the wick positioning):

Chamber installed:

Wicks pushed into the chamber, I pushed around the tips of the mesh wick to make sure the cotton was wrapping around the entire tip and I pushed the cotton off to the sides against the chamber walls and away from the coil wires. Made sure the entire bottom of the deck was covered in cotton without pushing down to hard and blocking the channels:

I'd believe that'd choke the cotton (inside the mesh wick), serve no serious purpose and wicking might be a hit or miss. I could be wrong though... and thus await your feedback;)

All I'm gonna say is that this setup is wicking PERFECTLY with highly saturated consistent hits using Boba's Bounty "syrup". If this stuff is wicking fine anything else should. Try it! Make that wick solid and tight!

Yep, I might try this one in my next build... already had been experimenting with many builds for sometime now

If the flavor I'm getting off my Kayfun gets any better I'm gonna have heart failure. :)

LOL:) But u r right B, the Kayfuns are already giving me the best! Am stoked to the bone! Nonetheless, the tinkerer that I am - I'd yet give it a try - got to do something with that Mesh Sheet;).

im getting off on my mini these days.....btw...a little sandpaper, rubbing alcohol, polishing compound, noalox, and the bagua is close to perfect

I really like the Mini. My wife is using it now, and I replaced it with a 3.1 ES. THe 3.1 is smooth, and quite nice, but the flavor is not as intense as with the Mini.

I have been following the Lite thread for some time while experimenting with different coils in the 3.1... I thought I was on to something, but now I think I have too much cotton in the coil. It gives me something to do, but I just might see about getting some mesh.

the knurling doesnt bother me anymore....and i have to be honest...im getting equal enjoyment out of the 3.1 and the mini.....thanks to airflow control it makes wicking much easier....the kfl can be a pita sometimes for me....either flooding or dry hits....still working on the right amount of wick...i use ekowool in my srta's, no experience with cotton...may tear open a cotton ball tonite just for kicks....

i tried wrapping mesh around the center with a ribbon coil....too much fuss for my taste....i like either straight gennys or srta's with ekowool......not a big fan of mixed wicks.....thats just me tho.....right now the mini is killer....one of those "lucky" coils that have been refilled numerous times without the need to take the whole thing apart and fuss around.....

I'm having the same issues from my Lite, but the 3.1 is super smooth, tons of vapor, and the flavor is full. It's funny, I was thinking air flow control, or lack thereof, could be a reason I'm having such problems from it. My first build on the Lite was outstanding, micro/cotton, with the coil 1mm above the air hole.

Currently I know it's not a 1mm gap, its larger. Considering parting with the Lite and grabbing another 3.1

I think that experience might play a factor. If you've built other RBAs you're probably used to building things a certain way and its hard to break from certain build habits. Since this is my first RBA I just studied this one device and learned how to wick it with cotton quickly. I've only done one build on it so far that didn't work amd it was a tiny 30awg 1.3ohm microcoil that only had 5 wraps. To much concentrated heat in a tiny spot.
